Command All Things Vertical, Interact With All Things Horizontal In The Name of Jesus

Vertical are the things that have to do with the earth and people.

Horizontal are the things that have to do with heaven and the angels

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe in him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honour at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come. And God has put all things under the authority of Christ, and he gave him this authority for the benefit of the church (Ephesians 1:19-22 NLT).

The Lord Jesus is set far above “all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.” This is extraordinary. Then in the concluding part, it says God put ALL things under the feet of Jesus for the benefit of the Church.

There’s nothing God didn’t put under the feet of Jesus. No wonder the Bible says nothing is exempt from His rule. There’s only One who has authority over all things in heaven and on earth; He rules over all. His name is Jesus.

The Message translation says He’s “…in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything” (Ephesians 1:21).

When it says “all things,” that includes all nations, all sicknesses, all demons, and every name that can be named—not only in this world but also in that which is to come.

Now, Christ’s dominion over all things is for the benefit of the Church. The Lord Jesus is the head of the Body, the Church. That means all things are therefore under the feet of the Church. Can you see why you must live as a victor every day of your life?

All things are under your feet, including Satan and his cohorts of darkness. Death, hell, the world, circumstances, living and non-living things are under your dominion. Christ’s authority, reign and dominion are for your benefit. You reign through Him and can do all things in His Name.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13).

What a glorious confession by the Apostle Paul in the verse above! What a mentality! Have you come to that point where you know that nothing is impossible unto you? You can do all things through Christ! It’s your heritage as a child of God, because He’s made you sufficient in His sufficiency.

Notice that Paul didn’t say, “I can do all things, because I’m so intellectually endowed”; no. It’s not about you; it’s about Christ: who He is in you, and His ministry in, and through you. If Paul could do all things through Christ, then having received Christ, you should affirm the same: “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.” It should be a consciousness by which you live every day.

The more you’re conscious of it, and affirm it, the more you programme yourself with the abilities of Christ. Suddenly, you’ll discover wonderful talents—uncanny abilities—unleashed from within you for things you never knew you could do. You’ll birth new dreams and create new frontiers and vistas of success for the Kingdom and in the world. Never confess inability, for you’re able to do all things. You’re up to any task.

Never see yourself as weak. Christ, the anointed One and His anointing, dwells in you in His fullness. Therefore, there’s no impossibility with you. Jesus said, “…verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23). The Word says you can; therefore, don’t sell yourself short.

To be a true success with the Lord, you must walk in His wisdom. It’s about putting Him first and letting His wisdom guide your every step. God’s Word is God’s wisdom. So, give more attention to the Word. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” (Colossians 3:16).

Unfortunately, many people train themselves to major on the non-essentials because they don’t know what’s truly necessary. They invest their time and energy in things that don’t count for eternity. It brings to mind the story of two sisters, Martha and Mary, who each responded differently to the Lord Jesus’ visit to their home (Read Luke 10:38-42).

Martha was consumed with the numerous tasks required in hosting a guest, along with much anxiety and distraction. In contrast, Mary chose to sit at the Master’s feet to absorb His teachings and engage in fellowship with Him, and the Lord commended her choice.

When Martha expressed her frustration, the Master gently replied: “…Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42). The Master pointed out that Martha’s priorities were misplaced.

You must prize the Word of God above all else because there’s so much you will never know or understand otherwise. Focus on what truly matters—your study and meditation on the Word and your fellowship with the Holy Spirit. It’ll keep you always on the path of ever-increasing glory, victory, success and prosperity, and you’ll live a life that truly pleases and honours the Lord.

Therefore, let no man glory in men. For all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21).

In Luke 11:11-13, the Lord Jesus said, “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”

Here, He was teaching people of the old covenant, the Jews, about faith in God; how to “get” things from God.

However, today, for us as new creations in Christ, things are different. We don’t try to “get” anything from God, because we have all things in Christ. The Bible says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness…” (2 Peter 1:3). The tenses show that it’s already done: God has given you ALL things that pertain to life and godliness.

Many have misunderstood the teachings of Jesus on faith. Those teachings really don’t apply to the new creation, because He was teaching a principle to men and women of the senses, who didn’t understand faith as a lifestyle. They didn’t understand how to live from inside out.

Everything you desire in life is already inside you. There’s no need to try to “get” anything from God as though it’s coming from outside. You don’t need to try to get what you already have. What you need is to know how to bring into physical manifestation that which already belongs to you in Christ.

There’s no provision of the Gospel that isn’t already your legal possession in Christ. You only need to speak them forth. What you say becomes. Whatever you desire or require today is already yours; call it forth and it’ll appear. Glory to God!
