Meaning

(Luke 8:45)

SCENE ONE:

Jesus turned around.

“Who touched me?”

Peter had to repress his laughter.

“Seriously, Boss? Who TOUCHED you???”

“Yes, who touched me?”

Jesus looked at all the faces of the people thronging him, trying to identify who touched Him.

“Erm, Boss… You are a Celebrity here, there are thousands of people trying to get your autograph, touching you, grabbing at your clothes, shoes, hair! Everybody is touching you!”

“Yes, Peter: everybody is touching me. But ONE touched me with MEANING!”

SCENE TWO:

It was the Cross Over Service of a very big Church. Hundreds of thousands of people travelled over thousands of kilometers to be there at the Camp. The atmosphere was filled with frenzy, as the people prayed fervently for things to turn out better for them in the New Year.

About 30 minutes to midnight, the GO walked to the Stage and said: “God WILL bless some of you with brand new cars TONIGHT!”

There was a thunderous “AMEN!!!” from the congregation.

He continued, “I say God WILL bless some of you with brand new cars before midnight today!”

A louder “AMEN” boomed out from the flock.

The GO smiled…

Then he said: “If you BELIEVE God WILL bless you with a brand new car in the next 20 minutes, COME OUT NOW!!!”

There was silence in the hall.

The silence was as loud as the shout a few seconds before.

The GO smiled again.

Then a few people walked out.

12 of them.

The GO said, “I’m sure the AMEN I heard is from more than 12 people!”

He turned to the 12, handed over the keys to brand new cars and said, “You are the only ones that shouted AMEN with MEANING!”

SCENE THREE:

3 friends working in the same Organization attended a 3 day Church Program in the year 2000.

The Guest Minister was Mike Murdock, the American Preacher.

He told the congregation: “I will teach you a principle you probably have NEVER heard about in your life. Bring out a piece of paper and write what you want God to do for you in your life.” Everybody brought out a sheet of paper and pen and started writing.

After a few minutes, he asked them to look at what they wrote down and let their imagination soar for the next few minutes…

Then he asked them to bring out another sheet of paper and write just 3 things they would want God to do for them in a year.

They did.

Then he asked them to sow a seed to the fulfillment of these 3 things they wrote down.

A year later, one of the 3 friends called the other 2 into his office. “Guys, do you remember where we were exactly a year ago?”

“A year ago? I can’t remember…”

“We were at a Church Program, the Guest Minister was Mike Murdock! He asked us to write down what we want God to do for us in a year, remember?”

“Yeah, that’s true! It’s already a yeah? Woah!”

“Yeah! See what I wrote down…” He gave his friends a sheet of paper. On it were 3 things written boldly:

A house.

A car.

A wife.

“Woah! And you have gotten all 3! God IS faithful! This is AMAZING!”

“Yeah, He sure is. But that is not why I called you guys to my office…”

“Really. Why did you call us, then?”

“We were all together in that program last year. We all wrote something down when Mike Murdock asked us to. What did you guys write?”

There was silence for a few seconds in the office…

Then one of the friends said, “I can’t remember!”

The other said, “I can’t remember either!”

“But you guys WROTE something down as the Man of God asked us to! You PRAYED over it as the Man of God asked us to! You even SOWED a seed as the Man of God asked us to! But you CAN’T remember? I guess you didn’t write your list with MEANING!!!”
