Activating Visions and Revelations
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be (Genesis 15:5).
The Word of God brings visions to your spirit. It’s one of the important benefits and impactful ministries of the Word of God in our lives. When you hear God’s Word, watch out for the visions that it brings to you, the spiritual visions, and revelations that it conveys; accept them, and they’ll profit you.
Spiritual visions from God come to your spirit when you hear or study the Word. It’s the reason a man can see himself healed, once the Word of God for healing comes to his spirit. And when he acts, on the basis of that vision produced in his spirit by the Word, he’ll jump out of the wheel chair, or stretcher, as the case may be, and start doing the things he couldn’t do prior to hearing the Word.
When the Word brings visions to you, hold the picture and act accordingly. It’s one of the reasons you must soak yourself in the Word. Give yourself completely to the Word of God. Revelations, manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit, and several other blessings are activated in your life, when you listen and pay attention to the Word.
You have three means or channels of vision:
1. The eyes of your spirit
2. The eyes of your body
3. The eyes of your mind
1. The Eyes of Your Spirit
What the eyes of our spirit see is not under our control but God’s. You can’t say, “Right now, I want to see something in the spirit realm”; no, you won’t, because seeing into that realm is God’s work. It’s up to Him to make something appear to your spirit or to open the eyes of your spirit to see into the spirit realm.
Understand that when you became a new creature, God made the Holy Spirit in you to function through your outward man—your body. Every spirit requires a physical body to function in the earth; and while you’re here, you can’t choose to function by your spirit without your body. That’ll make you illegal to the earth.
This is why everything you’d ever do directly from your spirit would have to be through the Holy Spirit, and He would manifest Himself to you and deal with you in that realm without your body. This means the eyes of your spirit can only see what God shows them.
You can’t put them to work by yourself. That’s why you’ve not yet seen some things you’ve always wished you could. It’s because you simply couldn’t “open your spirit-eyes” by yourself.
Ephesians 1:17-18: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,”
You’ll also find in Acts 2:17 that The Amplified Bible calls visions “divinely granted appearances.” You can, however, use your other two sets of eyes at will. God gave them to you for your choice operations, and it’s up to you when and how you use them.
2. The Eyes of Your Body
The eyes of your body are your physical eyes in your head. You can choose to use them whenever you want. Simply open them and you can see what’s around you.
However, the sight or vision you get through
these eyes is limited. They can only see things that are already existent in the physical realm; they can’t see the invisible. This is where the eyes of your mind become so important.
3. The Eyes of Your Mind
The eyes of your mind are your creative eyes. In the mental realm, we’re able to create whatever we want to see. Your physical eyes can only see what already exists in the physical; they can’t make things become.
The eyes of your mind, however, can produce what you want to see in the physical.
Your imaginative power is your creative ability.
God gave us the ability to imagine as a special gift to help us create the world we want to live in. If you don’t like the life you’re living, you can change it. God has given you the tool (your mind) and the ability to make the change.
This ability is naturally God-given. With your mind, you can choose what you want to see. Seeing only what exists in the physical is living at the lower plane of life, and, sadly, that’s where many are. But if you’re born again, you have the God-nature and God wants you to lift your vision and see the unseen
SEE VISIONS OF YOUR BLESSED LIFE IN CHRIST.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams (Acts 2:17).
Peter here reiterated the words of the prophet in Joel 2:28. Notice that the prophet didn’t say, “God shall show your young men visions”; rather, God’s Word through the prophet was, “…your young men shall see visions….” This is different from God supremely granting us visions and revelations, realities of the Spirit that He unveils to us; we’re to consciously, with our spirits, see visions. It’s part of the blessings the Church is to experience in these last days.
You can actually practise seeing visions; visions of your blessed life in Christ; visions of your triumphant and victorious life, and walk in the love, power and righteousness of Christ! If visions of fear, death, sickness, poverty and failure come to you, reject them; then switch your mind immediately to the realities of God’s Word and refocus; reprogramme or realign yourself to see the right visions.
When you practise this, you’ll be amazed at what God will do in your life. It’s actually interesting to note that once you’re born again, it’s the first thing He trains you to do. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold (see) , all things are become new.” The word, “behold” is the Greek “idou”; it’s akin to the Hebrew word, “kazar,” which means to LOOK and SEE intentionally with the EYES of a PROPHET.
The Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, wants you to see the right vision of who you are in Christ, now that you’re born again: see that you have a new life. See that you’re a success. See that you’re prospering, walking in health, strength, and victory! See that you’re righteous, holy, perfected in Him, and beloved of Him. See that you’re the carrier, as well as the effulgence of God’s glory, and the dispenser of His grace, mercies, and goodness to your world.
Be sensible and don’t tell everything you know... (Proverbs 12:23 CEV).
When you walk with the Lord, He gives you visions for your future; visions about your life, the things He wants to accomplish with you and through you. He causes you to see into the future so you can head for that future. Everybody may not see what you see, or know the future God is guiding you into. But some people try to tell everybody what God is showing them about their future. That’ll be a mistake, except if He’s the one leading you to talk about it.
Understand that Satan doesn’t know what you see, until you tell him; he doesn’t know everything. When he hears about what you see, then he starts scheming how to work out a plan to try to stop you. There’re people who, because they couldn’t keep certain things to themselves, lost the beautiful idea they received from the Spirit. Once they got the idea for something, they started telling people about it, and Satan got wind of it and devised means to stop the idea from materializing. Don’t give him that chance.
Our theme verse says, “Be sensible and don’t tell everything you know....” Don’t always tell your plans to non-Christians. Whatever idea God gives you, get started with it first before talking about it; or else you may never start. It’s not because the people that know about your vision or even the devil can stop you; no. It’s because there’s a spirit that works with them; they may exude a certain kind of negativism that could dampen your zeal for what God wants you to do, if you’re not careful. So, be spiritually smart. The Bible says, “Watch your words and hold your tongue; you’ll save yourself a lot of grief” (Proverbs 21:23 MSG
Confession
Dear Father, I thank you for showing me how to position myself for greater glory. I rise above the limitations of the mind and the senses, to see my blessedness in Christ, and all that you’ve granted me and made me in Him. I see glory, righteousness, wholeness, preservation and blessings all the way. The visions of the Spirit that come to me through your Word. The manifestations of the gifts and blessings of the Spirit are activated in me even now, through the ministry and power of your Word and the Holy Spirit in my heart, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
