God Indwelling

I went to a wedding once, The father of the bride had called the father of the groom and promised him that if he sent 2 million Naira, He would settle all the bills on the list and when he comes for the wedding he won’t have to pay a dime. The father of the groom sent the money. We then went to the bride’s village to collect our bride, When we got there, The family told us to sit down as the elders brought out the list. The father-in-law had not settled anything. The groom’s father told them he sent the father-in-law 2 million Naira to settle the family. The elders said that is between the two of them as they have not received a penny. The process started, billing from right and left. The grooms father got to a point and had no more money to give, Yet the family insisted it must all be paid.

One of the well-wishers came to call me, She said the groom’s father is crying and they had taken no pity on him. She said he told her he might walk out of the wedding if they refuse to be considerate. I went to bail him out, paid a lot of money to clear the rest of the bills. When we eventually got our wife.  The father of the bride came to us and said he was sorry, He said the money the father of the groom sent him was used to restock his shop and also rent chairs and tables etc. for the event. He said our bride will make it up to us with big bouncing babies.

A year later, our wife delivered the first baby boy, We named him Chinonso. Two years after that she delivered another boy, We named him Ikechukwu. Then she went to work one day and didn’t come back. She had fled to abroad with another man who is richer than our brother that got married to her

After much talk, the family sent the groom’s father one million Naira as the official bride price. They said they had returned it. We get to keep our babies and a refund on the bride, She gets to keep her richer new husband and have more babies for him!

The groom cried so much, I had to promise him we would get his wife back from Germany where she eloped to. After two months, he said we shouldn’t bother, He had gotten over it. He married another lady from the South-East

We went through the same process, and she is a blessing. She took in the two babies, the other one dumped, and cared for them as a mother should. She also delivered a set of twins. Chinelo and Chika. You wouldn’t ever know she didn’t give birth to the first two. Thank God for motherly women

We have all sorts of individuals in every tribe. The difference is Christ in them!

If you marry a living and God in-dwelling woman, you have found a good thing!
