THE ENDURING LEGACY

THE ENDURING LEGACY

If we look at life critically, it is expected that a point in your life you will think about your legacy.

What do I want to be remembered for? Wealth? Fame? Academic achievements? Being a good parent?

Legacy is a hard task master We all want to leave our mark on this world before we check out.

In reality, Nebuchadnezzar was greater than Solomon. So was Alexander the Great. So was Darius. So was Pharaoh.

Solomon ruled over only Israel but these Kings ruled over vast lands and commanded vast resources but believers insist on the greatness of Solomon based on the word of God. What the word says is final.

God determines who is great and who is nothing. Esau was greater than Jacob but we all insist Jacob was greater than his brother because the Word says so. The testimony of God about a person is the true legacy.

Daniel was great but he was no Einstein. Bezaleel and Aholiab were great but they didn’t do nothing compared with Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

John the Baptist was great but Jesus is the greatest of all.

You see the trend? What God says about you matters the most. You can be a Ben Carson or a Hitler, but without the stamp of God your legacy will become chaff.

I have seen rich men die and fade away. I have seen wise men die and fade away but the legacy of Abraham endured.

The legacy of Absalom faded. You can build cenotaphs and bridges; you can build sky scrapers and change the course of human thinking; there is so much you can do in life even politically.

For your legacy to endure it has to be in Christ.

The legacy of Mohammed endures in religion. So does the legacy of Buddha.

Martin Luther king and Ghandi share a platform but theirs are carnal legacies upheld by some but never enduring.

It is in the word of God that the legacy of a man or woman truly endures.

Read through Hebrews, you will see what matters and what does not. Arguments about politics and political movements are a fad. They are like chaff that fades in the course of time.

Enduring legacies lie in Christ. I will be known for being a symbol of the gospel, a carrier of the legacies of Christ and a dispenser of the reality of the reality of Christ.

I am raising a nation for Jesus. A nation of miracle workers and Kingdom amplifiers. Those who lost self to display the glory of Jesus all over the world.

The gospel was already written of me in the word of God, in the volume of the works, it was written, “I came to do thy will Oh God.”

This is my legacy If Christ tarries, I will be known as the believer who fulfilled the word of God regarding “those who believe and what they shall do.”

I won’t be known for arguments and doctrinal loyalty. I will be known for Christ.

In Christ my legacy shall endure forever. I am expanding his kingdom and bringing His light to light up all men. This is where enduring legacy lies!

You can build a city and aspire to become a president hoping to rely on your legacy; that same legacy can be trashed by many who stand in opposition to you. Of course, some will uphold it but your legacy is questionable.

In Christ every cup of water given to the needy shall be rewarded. Angels write the account of our deeds in the books and they are preserved before God.

When all else shall fade away, the word of God concerning me shall endure. This is the true legacy we should all strive for. This is why you should know the Lord and be rooted in him now.

Every other name has faded. Christ has endured. Every other legacy will fade away too.

MKO Abiola left a legacy, Awolowo left a legacy, Gani Fawehinmi left a legacy, Bola Ige left a legacy. Their legacies are corruptible. Gen Z does not even know them but they know Christ and His legacy.

This should teach you a great lesson today-to build your legacy in Christ, the only enduring rock that is timeless. The Bible says “of the increase of His kingdom there shall be no end.”

Remember this!

What shall your legacy be?

Think about it.
