Her father belonged to a very powerful cult
He was a very wealthy man and nobody dared question on him on how he came about his money
He was a distributor with a tyre manufacturing company
He dined with the rich and the famous
Top government functionaries, local chiefs and high chiefs, politicians and lawyers come to their house at will
Her Father was a man of influence
Her Father was also a man of great power
He could decide the fate of anybody regardless of who the person was
Her father once told a sitting traditional ruler he wouldn't last a year on the throne for disrespecting him
The traditional ruler was deposed within three months
Her father married five wives
Built mansions all over the city and was feted by popular musicians
She was the third daughter of the fifth wife
She was two years old when her father died at the age of 73
It was her father's death, more than his life that shaped her destiny
Immediately her father died
The family started bickering over his properties
His siblings wanted a share, the wives wanted a share, the children wanted a share
He had a will
In the will he bequeathed to each wife the mansion they were living in and a branch
of his business for them to manage to generate income
His other properties were left to his older children
His family members got some forms of compensation
The association he belonged to came around on the day of his burial
Nobody argued with them
They performed their rites and rituals and left
According to her mother, they buried whatever was left of him that the initiates deemed fit to leave behind
One month after her father's burial
Calamity struck
Her mother's mansion suddenly caught fire
She was in the bedroom, asleep at the time
By the time they rescued her, she had suffered burns all over her body
She was flown abroad for treatment
She was still there when the rest of the pile of wealth her father left behind turned to rubble
The hurricane that devoured her Father's businesses and wealth did so without remorse
None of the wives or children or relative enjoyed a penny of his legacy
Everything sank as if they never existed!
The great name, the fame, the legacy was expunged from life
People still talk about other rich men even after they had died
Some people testify that their Father's name still open doors and gives them access to some favours
This was not the case with them
It was as if the hurricane also deliberately erased the memories and name of their father from the anals of history
His statue, erected at a roundabout in their village was also pulled down mysteriously
Many of the wives and children almost became destitutes
Her mother's saving grace was the fact that she was with her abroad when the storm was raging
Her siblings were also with her
Her two older sisters
Her mother decided not to return to their country
There was nothing for her back home
Everything had become a pile of dust and ashes
She had dual citizenship
So did her two elder sisters
They had a right to stay abroad and live
Their mother got a job with an airline company as a front desk officer
They settled into the country and thrived
Some of their half brothers and sisters would come around to visit sometimes
Some would send them some money as things got better
They never returned home
But family was always around them to help and support them
All they had was one another
Then they grew to marriageable age
And they seemed to be unable to get married
Nobody wanted anyone of them
Be it male, female, young or old
It was as if they had a mark on their foreheads that reads "Do Not Marry"
As her older siblings (half brothers and sisters) approached the age of 40 in their single state
Everybody got worried
What was going on?
Their mothers piled pressure on them
Husbands refused to come and wives refused to surface
The males among them had good jobs and were really a catch
The ladies would date them but after the second or third date the ladies would lose interest
The females among them didn't even get a "hi!"
The most daring among them started sleeping with her driver
Her driver was married with two children
She paid for the upkeep of his family, build him a house and he eventually left her
She said she hoped to get pregnant for him at least once to no avail
The others also tried various means of settling themselves
They all went through their patches of humiliating experiences just to get to be slept with
She didn't fare any better
Though she prayed and fasted and begged God to make her case different
It was not so
She was the tart of her school from the age of fifteen
Other girls copied her but didn't know what her motivation was
She wanted to be liked and admired by boys
She would sleep with anybody just to get an I LOVE YOU
Sure some of them said "I Love you"
As soon as they scored their penalties, they went away celebrating while she
watched her net being torn to shreds
The one who came back with "I love you" were the ones who missed the goal at the first attempt
Many people tried preaching to her about her lifestyle
She would listen to them and laugh
She knew she was under a curse
They have all agreed their situation had something to do with their father
Her elder ones went to church, visited herbalists and spiritualists
One of them was even willing to be hypnotised by a popular spiritualist renowned to do such
The spiritualist refused her sister's request point blank
It was that bad!
God was simply disinterested in their matter
Her Father's evil was so much, it had been determined that his name must be erased from the land of the living
Every other thing was gone except his children
And none of his twenty one children had a child
She was the last child and she was already thirty-two years old
Out of the five wives, only her mother remained alive
Four of the children had died
They were being systematically fazed out of human existence because of their father's deed
She was determined to enjoy her life before the final curtain was drawn
Her mother died three days before her thirty-third birthday
Her mother was in her early sixties and died an unhappy woman
She had begged them while she was alive to go back home with her to try and solve the puzzle of the curse
None of them agreed
Their step siblings living at home had done everything possible to break the curse
The condition they gave them from the occultic world was that one of them have to join the cult
There was no guarantee that this would make things any better
Nobody in his or right sense would want to live a repeat of their father's life
They all decided to live for the day and die whenever their time was up
On her death bed, their mother insisted they must bury her at home
That was what brought all of them back home in thirty years
They have only watched their country on cable TV and heard funny tales
The arrived home with a plan to spend two weeks
Two days after they arrived, she and her two sisters went to the
Immigration office to register for their International passports
All they had was their foreign passports and they felt they should use the opportunity of their journey to get it
They arrived at the immigration office very early in the morning
They were asked to wait at a large hall while the
immigration officers call them one after the other for biodata capture
Even at 8am in the morning, the place was already crowded
Her sisters sat down first, her phone rang, she went to receive the call
By the time she came back into the hall somebody had sat on her spot
She turned around and saw an empty seat
She took her seat right beside the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
As soon as she sat down, he stood up and walked out
She could barely restrain her laughter
The curse followed her to the immigration office
A brother who had sat down comfortably all the while walked away as soon as she sat down
Few minutes later she saw him, standing in front of one of the ATM machines outside
She decided to chat him up
She walked up to him
She: Hi
He: Hello, can i help you?
She: Why did you stand up from the seat as soon as i sat down?
He: Oh, sorry I was tired of sitting! I needed to stretch my legs! What's your name
She told him her name and somehow she told him everything
She didn't know why, she just did!
At the end of her story, he said, "Can I pray with you? I am good at breaking curses!
She laughed and said "okay"
it was the least she could do for loading him with her story of woe
He held her hands and said "Will you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour"
She: I have done that severally
He: Not through me
She: Okay
He led her to Christ
She didn't know why but she started crying
Then he suddenly released her hand and said "The curse is broken"
She couldn't even say "Amen"
She was so overwhelmed!
Her hands were tingling all over
They exchanged numbers and they parted ways
The following Saturday, after her mother's burial
A guy came to her and said "Hi, my name is so and so, I have been looking at you all day and I will like to get to know you"
It was the first time ever!
She had always been the one picking up guys and selling her wares to them
Her hands started tingling again
She gave him her phone number
They talked and talked
He was a 36 years old software programmer
He owned his own firm
Nobody could advise her on what to do
Her sisters were as fascinated as she was
Anytime he calls she would put the phone on speaker and her sisters will giggle like teenagers
They had also never had such calls before
When it was time for them to leave, they didn't
She wouldn't dare upset the flow and her sisters didn't want to be somewhere else when the tide turns
They moved out of the hotel into their mother's younger sister's house
They still had their mother's estate to sort out and a few phone calls helped to settle their work issues
He proposed three months later
Without sleeping with her or even asking to
Who does that?
She told him to give her one day to think about it
She called the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
"What should I do? Can i say yes" She asked
Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: Do you love him?
She: Yes
Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: Tell him you'd like to know him better, for at least three more months
She: Okay
They got married in July 2014
Eight months after they met
One of her sisters got married on February 2016 (She married his best friend)
Their eldest sister got married in September 2017 (In Canada)

PS: On the 11th of February 2019, after five years of waiting, she delivered a baby boy
The evidence of the broken curse was fully manifested
