Tales Of Love

That moment when a girl who has been in love with you for a long time finally decides to move on.
You have taken her love for granted and assumed she will always be there. Then another guy shows up, and he begins to dance around her until she pays attention.
You watched them from afar, thinking the guy would be like the others that showed interest in her in the past.
 The interest faded when they realize she has eyes for only one person. But this time it is different; she relaxed her posture and went on dates with the new guy.
 Told you about it, and you smiled and even encouraged her to keep it up and enjoy her life.
 Suddenly, the hand shake went beyond the elbow.
 She let it slip one day that she went to his house and slept over.
Then he went over to her house and slept over.
Then he started talking about marrying her, and now you want your babe back. 
You were the love of her life, and you know you are still the love of her life, but she has decided to settle for this new guy because you didn’t make your move on time despite all the opportunities you had.
 You went to her house to have a heart-to-heart talk.
 The new boyfriend was there
 You sent her messages 
She replied with “LOL.” You realize you are acting cool about stuff you are not really cool with
 If you lose her, there will never be a replacement
 You heard her boyfriend was organizing a surprise engagement party for her 
The boyfriend and others had gone to the hotel to wait for her
 You went to her house and parked close to the gate 
She came down, dressed gorgeously, and was about to get into her ride to the party 
You waved at her and told her you will drop her off. She got into your car, and you drove off
 As you drove, you started talking
 Telling her how much you love her and how you don’t want to lose her. She began to cry. 
She said it is too late
 She had waited six years 
Been a friend, a sister, a friend, a bestie, a BAE, a confidant and a companion 
You had slayed many dragons together
 Weathered many storms 
She had fallen in love and followed you like a puppy 
You could never do any wrong in her eyes
 Yet you refuse to allow the relationship go beyond certain boundaries which made no sense to her. 
She chased until she got tired of chasing 
She exercised patience until she ran out of patience
 And now, when she had made peace with it and decided to throw in her lot with someone else 
You show up declaring your love 
It is too late! By this time, you had driven her far from Ikeja (where she was supposed to go for the party) all the way to Ajah! Her phones kept ringing but she couldn’t pick 
She loves you 
You know it 
She loves you 
She knows it too 
The party was a flop 
You both spent the night at the beach, talking and crying 
She couldn’t even explain where she was and what happened to her boyfriend
 As soon as her boyfriend learnt she didn’t make it because she was with you, he broke up with her 
You went to apologize
 You also hung around until she relaxed a bit 
You got talking again
 You held hands 
You hugged
 A minute became a week
 A week turned into a month
 You proposed three months after all the drama 
You married her three months after you proposed
You never forgot how close you were to losing the love of your life and how you had to swallow your pride and damn your shame in order to get her back!
