Fast lane

He was in a hurry 
Everything with him had to 
be done quickly 
He walked at 9 months 
Started talking around the 
same time 
Was in a hurry to run, finish the 
food on his plate and do things 
himself 
His parents had two other children 
before him 
They had seen other children grow too
His speed was unusual 
It was too obvious 
He would sit still for a few minutes 
to observe how adults did something 
and he would take it on immediately 
At age five, he was already reading 
and comprehending what he was 
reading 
His mother called him a genius 
His father was bothered
His father had seen it before 
His father was a twin 
His father's twin brother was late 
His father's twin brother  died at the
age of twenty
He behaved just like that 
Life on a fast lane reality 
Born precocious and gifted 
But destined for a short life '
It was too much of a coincidence 
Too bizarre!
His father decided to seek help 
His father had this premonition 
He was sure something out of 
the ordinary was happening
 It is better to raise an alarm early 
to prevent a certain evil than 
keep quiet and hope things will 
pan out! 
His father went to the elders 
He cried for help
The medium his father consulted
 took a peek into the future and
 confirmed his father's fears 
The boy reincarnated 
This would be his eighth sojourn 
into the world of men 
He was searching for something, 
someone 
He has a mission 
He must accomplish his goal 
before the age of twenty
If he didn't accomplish the goal, 
he will die and return again through 
one of his siblings
 If he accomplished the goal 
he will die and rest, never to return again 
One thing was sure, he was not going 
to live past the age of twenty! 
His father must give him everything 
he needed
Nobody knows what he came for! 
Should he be denied the resources 
to accomplish his goal, his father 
would suffer severe misfortunes 
in business and health 
His parents must support his quest 
His father told his mother what he learned 
They also did sacrifice for him as instructed
He got into JSS 1 at the age of 9 
He sped through secondary school 
He got double promotion twice 
He coped with everything thrown at him 
He understood mathematics in a crazy way
 He also had a good grip of life 
He was always sleeping, 
that was his only vice! 
He slept and studied
He graduated from secondary school 
at the age of fourteen 
His father took him to the United States 
He had done a series of tests and 
examinations and qualified for a special 
visa due to his gift! 
When he got to the US
Something changed! 
Nobody could tell what it was but he wilted
His grasp on reality suddenly shifted 
He lost interest in everything 
He stayed in his room all day and 
refused to participate in life 
A psychiatrist came into the picture 
Treatment was prescribed 
He got worse 
He got addicted to prescription drugs 
Nothing worked
After two years of hitting a brick wall 
His father decided enough was enough 
He was brought back home #
As soon as he got to his father's house 
He picked up again 
It was a total turn around 
He wrote his examinations and get 
'admitted into the university to study 
computer engineering
He also started writing the ICAN 
professional examination 
He was sixteen years old 
He got himself a girlfriend 
A nineteen-year-old student of 
mass communication who was expelled 
from another private university on 
immoral grounds 
Somehow the girl got pregnant 
He was responsible
He said he wanted to marry the lady 
His parents said he was too young 
to know what he was doing 
The lady's parents said over 
their dead body 
The lady had to abort the pregnancy 
When he heard it 
He was inconsolable 
He just turned seventeen and the baby 
was all he wanted 
It was crazy
Nobody could reason with him 
He attempted suicide twice 
He spent his seventeenth year in the hospital 
He was on suicide watch 
His admission was deferred 
They had to pump his stomach the 
two times he overdosed on sleeping pills 
deliberately 
The lady he impregnated moved on Hmm!
His father remembered the warning 
he was given 
Perhaps it was a baby he came to 
the world to get 
Perhaps if they had supported him 
they would have fully obeyed the 
instruction they were given 
But the lady's parents were also against it 
It made no sense to let them keep the baby
His father went back to the medium 
He was told he had failed 
He told them his son can still impregnate 
another lady if all he wanted out of life 
was a child 
But they told him the sun has set 
on the idea 
The boy will die unfulfilled 
His spirit will depart unfulfilled 
They had failed!
But now that they know what he wanted
They should tell his siblings
He would die soon
One of the siblings will give birth to 
him again
Once it has been identified that he
was the one
They should make provision for him to 
have children in his teens
Perhaps his quest would be over
and when he dies he would no
longer return
But he was still alive
His mother believed he should be 
given a fair chance to live his life
to the full
All the reincarnation nonsense was
demonic
But it seemed real as events were 
unfolding
His mother reached out to the

She told him the whole story 
Her son was nineteen years old 
at the time 
He had grown thin and lost the zest 
for life 
His mother said she cannot keep 
watching him waste away 
Is there nothing God can do?

went to their house 
He met the young man 
They played chess together 
Chess, checkers, scrabbles and poker 
They became fast friends

 the young man about Jesus! 
He said "We can have a bond of friendship 
stronger than blood ties! 
We can be brothers for all eternity 
We can be buddies for life 
We can be together regardless of the 
realm of time and space 
We can gain mastery over life together 
The young man liked the idea 
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord 
and Saviour 
He got baptized in the Holy Spirit 
and prayed in tongues all night! 
The next day, they went to watch
 Spectre together at Ikeja mall! 
It was the first time the young man
 left his parents house in months 
They met two young ladies at the 
ticketing kiosk 
The ladies were beautiful 
The young man rolled his eyes
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt 
encouraged him to talk to them 
The ladies were kind and friendly 
They engaged him throughout the 
evening 
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt got to 
see the movie  alone
The young man returned to school 
two weeks later 
He suddenly wanted to live again

PS: He graduated in 2018 
He now works with an aeronautics 
engineering firm in Nigeria 
He is still seeing one of the ladies 
he met at the mall that day 
He is also a fervent Christian 
An ardent soul winner 
And a social media evangelist! 
His reality was taken over by Christ!
