Engage The Anointing

Being born again, the anointing of the Holy Spirit is on your life. That anointing makes your life supernatural! You're different from the rest of the world. Your words have power because you're an associate of the God-kind.

When Moses stood before the Red Sea, and God said to him, "Moses, stretch your hand over the water and divide it," he obeyed God and stretched his hand over the water. At that moment, he ceased to be the mere man, Moses; he was in union with divinity. Why? Because when he stretched forth his hand, the hand of God was stretched forth also. When he spoke words, they weren't the words of Moses, but the words of God, for his words became anointed by the Holy Spirit.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit is for you, and in you, if you're born again. If you've received the Holy Ghost, that anointing of God's Spirit will come upon everything that you do. This is what it means to be blessed; the anointing is deposited on everything you touch. That anointing leads and guides you. That anointing makes you a success, irrespective of the happenings in the world.

The economy of this world was designed to fail, for it's headed in the structure of fallen man. So when you hear of economic downturns, don't fear. The anointing sets you apart! Go higher by applying spiritual principles through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Never lose the consciousness of the anointing in your life. It's for your advantage. Therefore, use it for your health, academics, family, job, finances, and every area of your life. I'm not talking of some oil in a bottle or a piece of cloth from a preacher. I'm talking of the real person of the Holy Spirit, and your consciousness of His indwelling and abiding presence!

“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” 1 John 2:27

This is amazing! The anointing of the Holy Ghost is in you! Have you acknowledged this reality? Do you have the consciousness of one who’s anointed by the Holy Spirit? You should have the present hour consciousness that the Anointed One, and His anointing, lives in you. Philemon 1:6 KJV says, “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” The anointing is one of the good things in you in Christ Jesus. That anointing is the inherent power of God by which we effect positive changes.

As a born-again Christian, you’re anointed with God’s power, glory, and might because the Holy Spirit lives in you. You’re thus empowered by Him to accomplish things beyond human ability. Paul said in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” “Christ” here refers to the Anointed One and the Anointing. Therefore, Christ being in you means you’re supernatural; you can accomplish anything by His power that’s at work in you.

No wonder the Bible says nothing shall be impossible to you (Mark 9:23). Walking in the light of this truth will cause you to be more effective in your Christian walk.

Recall what we read in Philemon 1:6; if you were to start listing the good things that are in you in Christ Jesus, you could pick the anointing as one of them and say, “The communication of my faith is effectual because I acknowledge the anointing of God’s Spirit which is in me. I have an unction from the Holy One! That anointing is working in my body, finances, family, and all that concerns me. It sets me apart for greatness, causing me to spread and make progress on every side, to the glory of the Father. When men are cast down, I’m lifted, because of the power of the Holy Spirit that’s at work in me! Blessed be God!

There is a dark world against which we have to fight.

This evil world is right here and functioning now

Sometimes you find yourself with a very sharp pain, nothing was wrong with you before that moment, and the pain just comes on you out of nowhere

It gets worse and worse, and the pain becomes more pronounced by the day

The fiery darts of the wicked come on you just like that

For some people, they looked at something or met someone who had immersed himself or herself in dark, devilish substance for one reason or another, and from that day you have not been able to see again or to regain their health, wellbeing, or financial standing.

Some people went to the office, sat at their desk, and from that moment lost their minds or died because someone else wanted their job and that person had determined to eliminate them because he or she could not earn it by merit

So he or she consulted with the powers of darkness, the rulers of the dark realms of this world, to gain an advantage, and they concocted something for him to use against a careless Christian

If you see any Christian afflicted this way, it is because they have not taken advantage of the anointing

They are living in the flesh and governing their lives the carnal way (the Bible says to live this way is DEATH, Romans 8:6)

One day, while I was an undergraduate at Bowen University. I was studying in Brother’s Hall when my phone rang. I picked it up, and the voice on the other end began to command me not to drop the call but to listen steadfastly to him and obey him. The voice was speaking in the Yoruba language, and it made all the hair on my body, from my head to my legs, crawl

He said, “Lose your consciousness now, lose your senses, begin to roam the streets like a goat, begin to roam the streets like a sheep, begin to roam the streets like a wild dog, do not refuse or reject my voice, lose your mind right now and go mad.”

I had been praying in the Holy Ghost every day with my roommates for several months, not because we needed anything from God but because we were growing our faith as young believers.

I was two years old in my walk with God by this time and I was still a Nepios, (a baby christian without adequate training), there was nobody around me to guide me or for me to talk to at that moment, but praying in the Holy Spirit for several hours everyday had fortified my spirit to such a degree that vodoo, juju or any form of enchantment could not take a hold of my consciousness and toss me here and there as it would have been for a baby christian who didn’t engage the anointing.

Read Galatians 4:1-4

What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. 2 The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. 3 So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces[a] of the world. 4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.[b] 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[c] Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

As the voice continued to make incantations and summon devils to ensure I did what it said, i felt a strong stirring of the power of the Holy Spirit in me; it just bubbled up by itself, and I screamed into the phone, “You dare attack the anointed of God? Do you not know whom you’re talking to? lose your eyes and never see again until you find your way to me to make contrition for your error in Jesus name!”

This happened in 2008 January.

Please note that I was the most brilliant male student in my department at this time. I had won Mr Brains’ award for four years in a row, and I was on the dean’s honours list in my faculty.

A lady in my class was the daughter of a popular herbalist. She liked me and had made several advances towards me, but I never acted as if I saw her or reciprocated her gesture. Not out of pride but because I was not willing to have a relationship at that time in my life. She took offence at my disinterest and reported it to her father.

Her father was the one who called me with the aim of enchanting me.

He lost the use of his eyes that day.

She brought him to me a year later, after they had tried every form of remedy they could, without any form of success at the church where I was a youth pastor after graduation. They confessed their misdeed, I prayed for him, and his eyes were restored to him.

This is what the anointing does for the believer

He is a shield and an exceedingly great reward for those who embrace him wholeheartedly.

Romans 8

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

The anointing is not just for protection against the dark forces of this world.

It is the power of God in the life of a believer that ensures that he or she lives a life of supernatural success regardless of prevailing circumstances in this world.

It does not matter which country he dwells in or which language they speak there.

It wouldn’t matter which company he works with or which currency they spend in the country where he dwells

He or she is like a tree planted by the riverside. He or she flourishes divinely in everything he or she lays their hand on to do.

That anointing on your life makes you a success in all that you do; it makes you invincible in life.
