Ethereal (Christmas Special)

"Wipe your tears," said the angel
He didn't even know he had tears
on his face
He had been mentally retracing the 
steps of his life up till that moment
How did he get to that point
What brought him into that moment
Why was he in a room, full of light
while darkness engulfed him within
Was he really what God said he was?
Was the Holy Spirit real?
How could he pretend God loves him
How dare he think he was special
God must be punishing him for thinking
what he saw was real
God must be punishing his wife for
all the crazy things she believed
Love couldn't have done this
God couldn't have loved him...
His life was one giant joke
Right from when he was young
Everybody said he had great potential
His academic record had always 
pointed to his future as glorious
and wonderful
He was a genius!
When he got to secondary school
he had a small lull in the first two
years!
He was just confused at how different
the teachers were and how quick it
was for the teachers to resort to canning
student 
But he adjusted during the senior secondary
years
All the teachers were shocked by his
sudden surge to excellence
They didn't know he had it
He was just distracted
He graduated with the best result
and gained admission into the University
to study law!
Everything was set according to plan
He was young and very focused!
Then he met her
The lady he would eventually call wife
She was as sweet as a honeycomb
She was studying music
She was good!
They met at the library
He loved classical music and heard
her humming one
He was drawn to her voice
But his heart melted when he spoke
to her
She had such a sonorous voice
Like a nightingale, a bird of melody
She spoke with warmth and cheer
Her voice made everything better
It was as if she had a reservoir
of joy and gladness
He lost the burden of life which he had
been carrying on his shoulders 
immediately
He just wanted to be with her
He wanted to belong to her
He said "I don't really know you
but I am really drawn to you! Is that
a good thing?"
She looked at him and smiled
Then she turned around and walked 
towards her seat slowly
Her eyes and body saying "Follow me"
He followed her
They sat next to each other
Stealing glances and smiling
He wanted to touch her
He wanted to kiss her
He wanted to be her man
He wanted to know her
He wanted to be owned by her
She was the most beautiful person
he had ever met
She was the answer to his unsaid prayers
She was the one good thing he couldn't
write an examination or study to have
His jewel of inestimable value
It suddenly occurred to him right
there and then that he wanted to 
see her naked
He was all of nineteen years old
He was in love for the first time
He was lost in another's world
She was twenty years old
Already in her final year
He still had two years to complete
his first degree and another year
of law school
Those were bridges they would
cross whenever the crossing was
due
She didn't play hard to get
She couldn't!
He was her completion
He didn't have to say anything
The moment she saw her, she
saw her future with him
They became inseparable on campus
He was deep and so was she
They bonded fast
Everybody knew they were meant
to be together
It was the most natural thing
She graduated and decided to stay
with him
Her parents went berzerk
They didn't understand it
He didn't understand it too
She was supposed to go for her NYSC
She refused
She rented a chalet on Campus
and moved her stuff from the hostel there
She said she wouldn't leave him
She didn't!
They were not having sex at the time
Just acting like strange twins
They slept on the same bed
Kissed and explored each other's bodies
They both didn't want to have sex yet
It wasn't off the table
It just can wait!
So it waited!
When he was posted for law school
in the eastern part of the country
She went with him
By this time, her parents had 
thrown in the towel
She was the first of three girls
They were a Christian family
She was the first to know the Lord
and walk with the Holy Spirit
She was the one who brought all
of them into Christ when she was 
thirteen and leading the fellowship
she started in secondary school
They didn't know what she was doing
They were not proud of it
She didn't care 
They had to let her be
Her father didn't know what to think
of him
He was respectful and as taken
aback as they were
She was very strong-willed and weird
in a good way
He promised her father they were
not having sex
They were in a relationship but they
kept the boundaries
During the Christmas season of 2012
Her parents invited him over
They were sure she wouldn't come
home unless he was with her
They had devised a means of getting
to her through him
She insisted on sleeping in his room
There was no reasoning with her
Her parents told her it would look
odd to her younger ones
She told them "so be it"
They wanted her home
But she insisted she would be with
her man or they would go wherever
they can be together
She finally applied for her NYSC
when he was ready to serve
She was 23 years old at the time
They were both posted to Lagos
She told him they didn't need to
influence the posting
She had seen it in a vision
It happened just as she said
She served at the same school
His parents loved her
Even her parents loved him
There was something about the
two of them
A "supernatural ambience, ethereal
and beautiful"
The bond they shared would make 
most couple cry
Their love was so real, so strong, so 
original and untainted!
He told her he wanted to marry her
She laughed and she cannot marry 
anyone who is not a Christian!
He was shocked
His family were believers
He goes to church regularly
They go to church together
But she knew he had never given his
life to Jesus
They often talk about it
But he didn't know it meant that
much to her
He said he would do it
She led him to Christ
He proposed on Christmas Day 2014
Her Birthday
Their friends and relatives were all there
She said yes!
Her parents were the happiest of all
Finally, they can legalize the union
and make sense of the whole issue
She had been by his side for five years!
They had seen sunrises and sunsets
They had seen life with the same eye
Their mind was one
They got married on June 25, 2015
She got a job with her father's
advertising agency
He got a job with a law firm
Her office was a few minutes walk
away from his office 
She got pregnant and gave birth
to their first child on December 25
2016
Two days later, he saw the Lord!
He saw her first
She held his hand and led him
into a light
A light so bright, yet so different
A light so fearsome, yet so alluring
A light so fiery, yet so friendly
A light so wonderful, yet so intimidating
She smiled encouragingly
Her face as bright as the sun
He trusted her, they walked into
the Light and his eyes were opened!
He suddenly could see everything
as they really are!
He woke up in tears
The dams broke and he overflowed
When he opened his eyes
His wife was beside him, looking
into his eyes, smiling sheepishly
She knew what he saw
She said "Meeting the Lord Jesus
is very vital if you are to live a purposeful
life in His service as a Christian!
Many believers don't know him
They only know about him
They make boast of a knowledge
that is at best mental
When you meet the Lord yourself
there is a difference!
Nothing in your life will ever be the
same again!"
He understood
His relationship with the Holy Spirit
grew rapidly after that
He had always argued about speaking
in tongues before then
He spoke fluently and clearly after
that encounter
He began to know things
Spiritual things, scientific things,
things about people, places and things
He gained understanding
He studied the Bible and saw the Word
Everything changed!
He met with the Brother in Jeans and
T-shirt in August 2018
They were drawn to each other
They sat down in his office and had
a long talk
There was so much to know, so much to
understand and make sense of
In December 2018,
Five days to Christmas
His wife was on her way back home
from antenatal at about 11 AM
A truck driver lost control of his vehicle
and ran into his wife's car
She was behind the wheel
The truck crushed the boot and rear
seat area of the vehicle
She was shaken but had no physical
injury
An ambulance took her to the hospital
He ran to meet her there
She was fine!
The doctors checked her and confirmed
that she was fine
They filled some forms with the insurance
company and returned home
The next morning at about 5 AM
He was startled awake
He had a strange dream
Himself, his wife and their first child
were in a car 
The car was hit by a bolt of lightning
Everybody died!
What!
He turned around to be sure he didn't
disturb his wife
Because once she wakes up in the 
night, she finds it difficult to go back
to sleep!
She looked strange to him
Something was not right
He got up and switched on the light in
their room
The first thing he saw was blood
She must have had some internal
injuries that were not detected in the
hospital
She was all white!
He ran to her, held her hands
Her hands were as cold as death
he checked her neck and wrist
for a pulse!
There was none
She wasn't breathing!
His wife was dead!
For a few minutes, he stood there
"Coldness" was pouring out of him
He was shivering from within
Chilling  and trembling
His wife was dead!
He didn't know how long he sat
for or what he was really thinking
It was all a hazy maze 
Then he saw the angel
Right in their room, looking at him
like a class teacher would look at
a student he expected more from
"Wipe your tears," said the angel
He wiped his tears
The angel didn't say another
word
The darkness in his heart was gone
He felt light and nimble on his feet
Goose pimples broke out on his body
He felt a strange chill in his bones
Oh God!
His teeth were gnashing and his lips
quavering
He felt like screaming
His wife was still lying there
He didn't know what to do
He couldn't remember anything
It was very early in the morning 
He picked up his phone and called
the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
He said "What do I do when I want
to raise the dead!"
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
screamed "Yay!!!!!!!!!! Where are you?"
"I am in the room with my wife,
she is dead!"
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt said
"No, you are standing in the atmosphere
of Power! I can feel the presence of God 
right here just by talking to you on the
phone! Lay your hands on your wife and
say "In Jesus name, Tinuola, wake up"
He put the phone on speaker, place the
phone beside his wife and said "In Jesus
name, Tinuola, wake up!"
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt said 
"Let your hand remain on her body"
He saw the reaction
It was instant!
Her little finger twitched and then he 
started feeling heat come over her
body
After about five minutes, she opened
her eyes
He couldn't believe it
It was already 8 AM
She smiled and said "I love you"
He couldn't say anything
He just looked at her and cried for joy!

PS: The baby was born on Christmas day
She was named Noella!
This incident happened in Lagos
He is lawyer/evangelist
She is a minstrel, recording her first
album at the moment

Even those who are walking in the
higher reality of the presence of God
must always contend for their faith!
That you are Holy Ghost filled and
walking in the supernatural does not
mean you get a free ride!
But what you see is not "IT"
What you see is not "Set in Stone"
What you see is not "Solid"
The supernatural is a realm of
constant change and shift of dimensions
You can be in the light and be overcome
by darkness
You can be in the presence of Faith
and be immersed in doubt
Peter sank right in the presence of Jesus
If you don't doggedly insist on change
Your situation will remain the same!
