Heirs of Bondage

Isn't it funny how some people love 
their chains
The chains were handed over to them 
by their fathers
Just as their fathers inherited it from 
the fathers before them
It was a chain of woe, struggle and war
A chain of battles and struggles and pain
A chain of covenants and oaths and the
occultic
It was a demonic chain born of desperate
lounges at breaking through
The slave who sold himself to the devil
in order to be free of his master has only
jumped from frying pan into the fire
And such is the reflection of their stories
on the waters of life
The can count backwards for generations
but they cannot see freedom in their future
The strength of their chain was so strong,
it kept their heads turned backwards
They walk about living in bondage
Transacting the business of life in 
hopelessness
You would have met one or two of them
Their stories always gave them away
eventually
They are called the heirs of bondage
The first one I met was a member of my
fellowship when i was an undergraduate
She came running to me in the cafeteria
one Tuesday afternoon
Her father was sick and dying
Her father was about to clock forty
In their family, the men died off at around 
age 40
Those who survive death run mad before
the age of 50
Her father had lost two older brothers
at about that age
It seems it was his turn to bite the dust
She was 18 years old
Her father married early in anticipation
of the 40 years expiry reality
He was also a pastor
He inherited bondage and even after he
became a believer
He held on to his Chains
Wow!
Didn't Jesus ask us to cast our burdens
on him?
Were we not supposed to come into his rest
Some believers are too foolish by half
Her father was one of such
I was 24 years old at the time
I told her the truth
Her father would die not because Jesus
was powerless
But because he was walking in a reality that
validated his chains more than his freedom
in Christ!
The Christian life is not automatic plug and play
It is a deliberate and conscious reality
a believer must walk in
It is the life from above
We got to her father's house in time
He had made money early and built himself
an edifice
His race was to be something and to leave
something behind after his death
He had even made a will in anticipation
He gave in to death as a matter of inheritance
He was a pastor who believed more in 
his lineage and ancestral history than
in the finished works of Christ!

Her father eventually lived but he would
have died if not for divine intervention
It wasn't the devil that was going to kill him
It was his unbelief in Jesus Christ whom
he claimed he gave his life to!
If you gave your life to someone, you ought 
to let Him live it through you
Isn't that obvious?
For many of us Christianity is a mere religion
A mental assent
A badge of honour that is not different from
that worn by football fans all over the world
Christ is not real to us!
There was another family where for sevral
generations, the men were only permitted
to have one living child
Once a child lived, every other child given
birth to by the family dies mysteriously
When I met the afflicted family, I was
shocked at the surface Christianity in
practise
The wife's mother was very much into
fetish white garment church realities
She claimed that was how she was able
to keep the one living child she had alive
The husband was as gullible as an earthworm
Whatever he was told to use for spiritual
reasons was immediately used
Their christianity revolved around the use
of material mediums like perfumes, candles,
oils, soaps, handkerchiefs, concoction
eating, use of special bathing waters and
so on
Yet she said she was "born again"
The Husband said the same!
Thank God for the gospel of Jesus Christ
It set them free and within three months
of ringing the right changes, she got
pregnant
Her baby is one year six months old now!
There are many believers with a siege
mentality
Always they are fighting a battle
The song writer that wrote "Christian
do not yet repose...." wasn't referring
to demonic attacks and a battle mentality
He was talking about not being at ease
in Zion
Many don't know the difference
The day you gave your life to Jesus, the
bondage reality of your ancestors are
taken away
You can pick it up willingly or ignorantly
but you are not compelled to go on living
with the sword of democles hanging over
your head because you came from a family!
A close christian brother sent me this
testimony recently, I totally confirm it to
be true because of experince too since i 
started walking with the Holy Spirit
As a young man I was told that there was
a pattern in my father's family lineage
The first born sons always ended up marrying
more than one wife
The first daughters too ended up marrying
more than one husband in a lifetime
All around me this was true
My father, a first born, had married over
three wives
My uncles all have the same history
Even those who were not firstborns have a
children from baby mamas
My mother was very careful to watch
over my activities as a teenagers
And even at that I got a lady pregnant
and didn't keep the baby because she
insisted on getting an abortion
The reality was this
I was heading for that lifestyle too
But then I became born again and I 
said No
I was determined to consciously live
the reality of Christ
All my uncles and auties told me it was
a futile effort
Those holier than me messed up
There was a time I went to abuja
and my uncle and his wife, whom I was
staying with for the week arranged for
a rich lady in a her mid thirties to come
to the house and seduce me
it was very well planned and i fell for it
I laid on the bed with this lady and we
got into the business of making a baby
She was a beauty
She was also rich
She didn't want any marital entaglement
only a child or two
She didn't want someone who slept around
so that she wouldn't get an STD
I was the best thing my uncle could recommend
Mind you I was married with two children
by this time
My wife insisted that I must stay in my
Uncle's house while I conducted my business
in Abuja because she was scared I could 
get lonely sleeping alone ina hotel room and
then doing the unthinkable
She had no idea she was pushing me into
the lion's den
Let me cut the long story short
I did everything humanly possible
My body was dead to this woman
She was on her ovulation and had used fertility
drugs
All i needed o do was enter the place
My key refused to work
I was totally shocked
My key had never failed to work before,
not even when I wasn't in the mood
But it didn't work at all
We tried all evening, all night and early
in the morning
The lady left in tears the next morning
it was crazy
Ironically, as soon as she was gone
My key roared to life mockingly
I could only laugh at myself
All the prayers and declarations I have
made about my home and marriage and
my body being the temple of God came
alive at that moment when I was willingly
going to do the unthinkable with another
woman!
I kid you not!
When i hear about Pastors sleeping around
like sick dogs, I am very convinced that
the "Pastor" is a title and not a reality!
There is a big difference between Paul
the Apostle and Saul the persecutor!
For many believers, their past and their
present is still the same
The Christianity was more of joining
a political party or securing a place in
heaven!
If you are an heir of the Kingdom, you 
cannot but have kingdom realities
if you are an heir of bondage, you may
pray and fast and cry all you want
Your reality will always be in bondage
because Christianity was not about such
activities
It is about being fully persuaded and
consciously living in the reality of such
a persuasion!
That is the life from Above
A consciously lived triumphant life that
is led by the Holy Spirit and not senses,
history or lineage!
Look at the scriptures
Many wanted to prove Jesus was the 
messiah by following lineage records
but that has since became irrlevant
because lineage has nothing to do with
the reality of the divinity of Christ!
As it is for Jesus, so it must be for you!
Stop all the "In my father's house...."
"In my mother's side...."
"In my compound in the village..."
"Our ancestors...."
The day you gave your life to Jesus
all those strings and attachments became
irrelevant!
Live like it!

PS: You can remain an heir of bondage
and keep running up and down looking for
a solution all the days of your life, just like
your ancestors did
Or you can rest in the finished works of 
Christ and affirm the reality of the Christkind
over your destiny!
You have a preordained destiny in Him
You can live that life and go from victory
to victory every day!
It is up to you!
