Oracle of Shame

Her mother told her about the oracle
of shame when she was fifteen years
old!
It was the eve of her fifteenth Birthday
She was very excited about the birthday
Her father had especially decided to
throw a party for her
Her friends from school, the neighbourhood 
and the church would be coming over
She would be cutting a huge cake and
having loads of fun
When her mother walked into her room
She didn't expect to be taken on a serious
journey
Her mother told her to sit down
Her mother said, "Your Daddy is throwing
a party for you and bringing the whole world
to the house because of me!
I am dying!
The doctors have given me three months
to live
Your birthday will be my official farewell
party to friends and family members who 
will be coming in from all over the world!
I could have waited to tell you this, but
I feel very weak and I am not sure if I will
make it through tomorrow!
So this is not the time to cry or sorrow!
I want your attention
I want your full attention!
I am about to tell you something important
about my family 
I am telling you this because it affects you
too and I want you to be guided!
I was told about the oracle of shame when
I was eighteen years old!
It has been in my family for many years!
Those who refuse to follow its dictates
struggle and suffer
Those who follow its dictates settle to live
a good life of health and wealth
The oracle simply required the members
of my family to do something extremely
shameful before they get married!
Something so shameful that every ear
that hears it will tingle!
She didn't understand what her mother
was saying!
Her mother saw the confusion in her
eyes
Her mother changed her approach!
Her mother said "Somebody in my family
did something very evil several years ago!
As a result of this deed, the person and 
all his children and grandchildren from
generation to generation was cursed!
We became very poor and unproductive
We couldn't get married or have children
When a remedy was sought for the malady
after many years, we were given the
oracle of shame!
The oracle stated that any member of the
family who desires to be free of this curse
must do something that will bring him or
her great shame in the community!
Once this is done, the individual will make
a headway in life!
"I did it before I married your Father!
I am telling you this now because I may not
be there to guide you later in life as you
grow!
She just nodded!
The party was a big success
She was so happy
Her mother was very excited too
Nine days later, her mother died!
Years went by!
She gained admission into the University
She gave her life to Christ
She graduated 
One year, five years, eight years...
No job! No relationship! Nothing!
She kept remembering her mother's words
But she didn't know how to go about it
She wanted to go to a market and steal 
something
But she was scared she could be lynched
and killed as a result
She didn't have any friend whose boyfriend
she could sleep with
Eventually, she settled for walking naked
to a market  close to her house
But every time she tried it
She just couldn't summon the courage
to go through with it
After several months, she decided she
would do something shameful online
She posted her nude pictures
All she got was likes and retweets
She didn't know what else to do
She called the Brother in Jeans and 
T-shirt
She told him her story
They prayed
She got filled with the Holy Spirit
When she got home, she deleted 
her nude posts
She just felt different
Two days later, she got a lot of tracts
and started sharing them 
She felt it was better to be engaged in
evangelism than sit at home idly
When she got to the market, the same
market she wanted to walk naked to
She met her husband!
He was hurrying through the market
on his way home
She offered him one of the tracts
He paused, he looked at her and smiled
They talked for a while and exchanged
phone numbers
He was a lecturer at a private university
Three weeks after she met him
She got a job as an internal auditor
for one of the bottling companies
They were married one year later!

PS: A believer can never be under a curse
How can you walk with the Spirit of liberty
and be under a curse?
But a believer can be ignorant
An ignorant believer would be run ragged
by the hordes of hell
If there is one thing a believer must learn
It is Christ!
The more of Christ you learn, the more
like Christ you become!
