Raising Thinking Believers
For many years, I listened to Michael Ramsden, Nabeel Qureshi, O’s Guinness, Ann Owing, Jill Catarina, Ravi Zacharias and other Christian apologists teach the gospel to cerebral audiences. I read their books and mastered their techniques. Their teaching made me question many of the religious things that African and Nigerian Christians believe. I put these things through the purifying fire of the Holy Spirit and they turn out to be chaff, I don’t just write on social media. What I write is common sense, the removal of ambiguity and wrong beliefs. The clarity of the gospel in its simplicity, the making of saints without spots and wrinkles. The faith of Jesus, not the faith of illiterate and semi-literate “Fathers” who founded churches and walked in the miraculous but due to their low level of comprehension did not leave a pure and unadulterated inheritance for those following them. I challenge anyone to read my arguments and subject them to scriptural scrutiny. I know I have read the Bible more times than anyone who has engaged me here on any topic. I write this not to boast, but to encourage believers to think. Don’t just set up belief systems without subjecting them to clinical scrutiny and ensuring that they can stand the test of time. Jesus has dealt with sin once and for all, the Bible made this plain. Why then are churches in Africa full of sin-conscious believers? We are now the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, this was clearly stated in the Bible. Why are believers asking for forgiveness of sin and calling themselves sinners? If righteousness is not earned but bequeathed, why do we have Christians who have received the gift of righteousness and yet are unable to walk in the supernatural? If you have received eternal life, why are you praying not to miss heaven? Teach people the gospel so that they can grow in knowledge and become one with Christ by the Spirit. The more knowledge of Christ you have, the more like Christ you become. You are not supposed to swallow religious lines spoken by your pastors like helpless dolts. The Bible says we should search all things, investigate, put through a conscious thought process and establish that which is true. Many believers don’t bother to think, they just believe whatever junk they are fed. If we refuse to think, we will never be free. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he!
