She called the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt very late in the night
She needed spiritual intervention
Her mother was a witch
Her mother had sworn she wouldn't make it in life
She had gone to many pastors
She had visited spiritualists and diviners
Everybody said she should find a way to appease her mother
Her mother held the remote control of the ship of her life
And unless her mother willingly sets her free
She will never be free
She went to the elders
What was she supposed to do?

They said: Buy some salt
Buy twelve yards of expensive lace material
Add some good amount of money
Pay your mother a visit, fall on your knees before her
Cry a little, tell her you are sorry, beg her with the breast you suckled
Ask her for whatever she wanted
Make sure you do everything she asks of you
Then you will be free!

That very night, she had a dream...
She went to see her mother on a Friday evening after work
She told her mother she came to spend the weekend
She had branched at the market and bought a lot of stuff
She cooked and cleaned the house till late into the night
While her mother slept, she prayed
"Lord, please melt her heart, let her set me free"
She barely slept all night
Very early the next morning
She woke her mother up and fell on her knees
"I bought some things for you Ma, I will like you to bless me"
Her mother didn't let her land
Her mother went berserk
Her mother jumped up from the bed and flung all the gifts she gave her on the floor
"You must be an unfortunate person
Somebody told you I am a witch, right?
You have gone for consultations everywhere
You have approached the elders
They have pointed you in my direction
I admit that I am a witch
If you want me to be happy, you know what to do
I have offered you a crown and you have refused it
You came to my house cooking and cleaning
How does that preserve my legacy?
How many times have I approached you with outstretched arms
Pleading with you to do my will
You blatantly refused!
The crown is a family legacy
I was given the choice to pick between a male and female child
I chose to have you because I wanted the legacy to continue
I wish i had chosen another
I never ever said No to my own mother
Your stubborness is your undoing
I have it, yes, I have all your desires but unless you do my will, you will never have them!
She broke down in tears, wailing bitterly...
When she woke up from the dream she had tears all over her face
She had cried from the dream into reality
She had planned to go and see her mother the following Friday
She had planned to branch at the market and buy foodstuff
She had planned to cook and clean her mother's house
She had practically seen what would happen that weekend
What would be the point of going to see her mother again?
Her mother was a witch!
Her mother claimed to be a white witch
Her mother claimed the witchcraft she has was good witchcraft
Her mother inherited her witchcraft from her grandmother
Her mother was determined to pass it down to her as a legacy
But she does not want to be a witch
She does not want to do consultations for people
She has no interest in learning the ways of the "white witches"
Her mother had spoken to her about it several times
She practically packed her bags and ran away from home at the age of fifteen because of it
She had kept far away from her mother since then
She lived with her aunt in the city until she graduated from the University
The problem was, her life was at a standstill!
No job, no husband, no friend, nothing
She placed herself as an apprentice under a tailor
She learnt the trade and became very good at it
She managed to open her own outfit
But nobody would patronize her directly!
Her boss and other tailors would get jobs and pass such to her at a fraction of the fee
She was so good that the jobs kept coming
But she knew she would have made so much more if her situation would turn around
Spiritually, her battles were endless
It is either something was chasing her in her dreams
Or she would see herself hiding in a dark place cringing with fear
She had gone everywhere hoping to find a lasting solution
She was always directed back to her mother
That was her dilema
Why write a test to which she already knew the result
If she went home to see her mother
It would be either to accept her mother's condition and concede failure
or find a way to get her mother to set her free
Going by the dream she had, It seemed the door had been closed on option B
That was why she called him
She had read many stories and wondered why God is so partial
Was it not a good thing that she had chosen not to be a witch?
Was God not supposed to protect and defend her for keeping away from witchcraft?
She had seen her mother do many things
The good her mother claimed to be doing for people was not really good
It was temporary reprieve or swap deals with demons
She had seen her mother negotiate healing with wicked forces before
She had seen her mother, when she was broke and in need of money, throw a powder into the air
Within hours people will start trooping down to see her mother
looking for cures to diseases her mother spread into the atmosphere earlier
At such times her mother would give her and other children in her compound a substance dipped into palm oil
As a form of immunization to the pestilence she was planning to spread abroad
And she called herself a good witch!
If the incentive was right, her mother could do and undo!
There was nothing like good witch or bad with, white witch or black witch or red witch
A witch is a witch is a witch is a witch
Wicked creatures manipulating human destinies
She had never wanted to be one and she was suffering for refusing to be one!
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt listened to her patiently
He wondered why people think good is something they are capable of!
Nobody, no human being is capable of doing good
What man call "Good" outside of God is another shade of evil
Morality without God bears no abiding fruit
Good is not always God!
"Are you born again?" He asked her
"I am not even a Christian, my late father was practising another religion
that is the religion I also practise, I dont believe God has a religion,
you always claimed you are not a religious person, that was why I was drawn
you! Your stories had nothing to do with religion. I believe in God!"
Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: Being born again is not the same thing as being religious,
some assume this stance to their own detriment. The religion in Christianity is found in
James 1:27: "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this:
to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."
Being Born of God is walking out of darkness into light! So that even though you look
the same and talk the same, your position in the world has been totally changed!
She: You mean, as I believe my mother had me tied down somewhere, I will just be free?
Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: Yes
She: Just like that? No rituals, no fasting, no prayer, no appeasement?
Brother in Jeans and T-Shirt: Yes
She: You don't seem to know my mother
Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: You don't seem to know my God
She: If I give my life to Jesus now, do you guarantee that my mother will no
longer have any power over me?
Brother In Jeans  and T-shirt: You still have to honour her but she can no longer afflict you
She: I am willing to give it a try
Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: Once you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, you
will be filled with the Holy Spirit, that's all you need
She: I am ready but I dont want to do this over the phone
They met on Friday morning, she gave her life to Jesus
She received the power of the Holy Spirit
She spoke in tongues for hours
On Friday she went to the market, she bought foodstuff
When she got to her mother's house, she cooked and cleaned all night
She was full of joy and prayed joyfully in the Holy Spirit
After her mother had eaten dinner, they slept on the same bed
She slept peacefully for the first time in years
By 5AM the next morning, her mother woke her up
Her mother: Where did you go? Who took you on this "Journey"
She: I don't understand what you are saying ma
Her mother kept quiet for a long time, then she opened her mouth and started praying for her
"You are blessed, you will marry your own husband, you will bear your own children,
you will prosper, your star will shine, your glory shall boom,
Your days of struggle are over, it is well with you"
It was the first time her mother had ever prayed for her
Things changed drastically after that
People started bringing clothes to her outfit
The traffic was so heavy that she had to employ two assistants
Two weeks later, the Human Resources Department of a Television station
she had applied to three years before suddenly invited her for an interview
She got the job and was still able to keep her fashion outfit
Then a brother she told about Jesus in her office
Her first convert, told her flowing rivers freeze up whenever he thought about her
It was as if meaning came into her life at the age of 32
When she introduced her husband to her mother
Her mother couldn't believe it
Her mother kept saying (O ro'ko mu wa'le
Meaning: You saw a husband to bring home to me?)
Her mother accepted her husband and blessed them
Her mother fell ill afterwards
Herbs, charms, concoctions and incantations failed to heal her mother
She prayed and fasted
"God, i don't want my mother to die without knowing Jesus"
She eventually brought her mother to her house
Her mother was ministered to through prayer
Her mother got better
Her mother accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour
When her mother received the Holy Spirit, she vomited a lot of things
The covenant of many generations was broken forever

PS: Her mother refused to go back to the village
Her mother said the initiates were angry because had broken away from witchcraft
Her mother now supervises one of her fashion outfits
She got married in August, 2015
The marriage has produced two children (First time in many generations)

There are believers who believe they can be afflicted by witchcraft
Don't ever be one of such
Don't ever believe such
From the moment you gave your life to Jesus
You were translated out of darkness into light
Untouchable by the world, sin and satan
Village people, witches and occult powers are useless against you
Unless you subject yourself willingly to their wiles
Grow in your knowledge of Jesus, become as He is today!
