Attack

Before he got married, he prayed earnestly

“God, you know my direction in life! Please give me a wife who will willingly and prayerfully support me and walk with me to my destination”

He took his time

Many ladies came around to peddle their wares

He was a young minister of the gospel

He also had a good business he was running as his tent ministry

He was invited to minister in a church one Sunday

The Holy Spirit moved mightily

The Assistant pastor of the church took a liking to him

They exchanged phone numbers

They became friends

The Assistant Parish pastor was the third son of five children

His father was a general overseer

He had only one younger sister

The Assistant Parish pastor introduced his sister to Him

It was like Adam’s initial meeting with Eve

They took to each other like duck to water

Within six months they were talking marriage

He was assured by the Holy Spirit that she was the one

She heard clearly from the Lord that He was her husband

The two families agreed

They got married

Within a year, she delivered her first child, a girl

Two years later she had her second child, a boy

It was a good home but for one inadequacy on the part of his wife

She couldn’t pray!

His fellow pastors call him the “Prayer machine”

His ministry and lifestyle revolved fully around the word of God and prayers

He fasts diligently too

At least four days every week he would wait on the Lord

He was a covenant partner with the General Overseer of his church

Once a year all the covenant partners would embark on a 40 days and 40 nights fast

He lived a fasted life!

His wife on the contrary would eat eight times a day and comfortably eat in her dreams too

She couldn’t pray

She was born again, filled with the Holy Spirit and yet wasn’t stirred to pray

It was very frustrating to him

He knew the importance of prayer

He understood the guidance, protection, anointing, power and grace prayer gives to the believer

His wife had witnessed the power of God through him in miracles, signs and wonders

She had seen God do mighty things through him

And yet!

The more he encouraged her, the more she frustrated him

He would wake her up in the night to join him in prayer

She would promptly go back to sleep and say “He was the one with a divine calling”

If he asked her to join him in prayer during the day

She would sleep off on her knees, on her feet, on her seat and even while pacing the floor

She simply refused to grow spiritually

At a point he got so frustrated he said “Maybe when you experience one attack or two, you will learn how to pray”

The wife rejected it! “I will not experience any attack in Jesus name!” she replied

He shrugged

The following week, their son fell down from the stairs of their duplex and fractured his left fibula

There was nobody around when he fell

The leg was not broken

The boy started limping

That evening, he noticed and used balm to rub the leg

The next day, the boy started convulsing

They rushed him to the Hospital

Doctors started diagnosing all sorts

Acute malaria, meningitis, cerebral palsy

They sent him to radiology for x-ray

When she went to get the result, the radiologist mistakenly gave him the wrong child’s result

The doctors didn’t discover the fractured bone

The boy was pumped full of all sorts of drugs as the doctors tried several medicine in a trial and error approach

The siege went on for six months

He fasted and prayed

She fasted and prayed for months

They had night vigil, she lost appetite for food, she lost appetite for sleep

Eventually the child was taken to a specialist hospital

The fractured bone was discovered

He was treated

But the effect of all the other drugs in his system had almost turned him into an imbecile

When he was eventually discharged, he could barely walk, he pooed all over himself and could barely talk

He was five years old!

He met the young man in Jeans and T-shirt and narrated his ordeal

He thought it was because of his wife’s prayerlessness that the enemy attacked them

He was wrong!

The enemy has no right or basis to attack a child of God

It is good to be prayerful

“Be it unto you according to your Faith” is the word

If you believe the enemy can attack you, you will be attacked

The more you pray prayers about attack, the more attack you will experience

You are the one calling forth your reality with your own mouth

The man in Jeans and T-shirt calmly explained to him that he was the anointed one who spoke the attack into reality

“You wanted to scare your wife into praying and fasting and thought an attack would effectively do the job. You confessed that an attack would help her and the attack happened!”

You cannot be speaking in tongues as often as you do and pray as often as you do and think you can afford to be careless with your words!

Are we all not striving to get to the point in ministry where God would instantly confirm our words and perform our counsel?

He looked at the brother in Jeans and T-shirt with mouth agape! It suddenly dawned on him that he was the one who broke the edge with the words of his mouth!

The child recovered!

This event happened in 2012

Ps: Every believer who believes in spiritual attack always ends up having one spiritual attack or the other (sometimes concurrently and incessantly) in their Christian journey! Why because they talk about it all the time and what we talk about as believers becomes our reality Mark 11: 22-25

Those who don’t believe in spiritual attack live a life of victory in Christ Jesus perpetually!

There are churches, denominations and ministries founded on “spiritual attacks”, in one breath they conduct deliverance services for the people and in another breath they open the same people up to demonic attacks by talking about demons and the devil all the time

People keep dumping their money into such ministries hoping to be free

The Scripture say “You shall know the Truth! And the Truth shall set you free!

The new creation was told how to think and speak: Philippians 4:8, NIV: "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things."

James 1:19 instructs us: “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.” Similarly, “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit” (1 Peter 3:10).

If you wake up every day, glorifying the Father, blessing the son and basking in the joy of the Holy Spirit. If you know the Word, meditate on the word (1 Tim 4:15), pray in the spirit (1 Cor 14:2-Speaking mysteries, Edify yourself -if you will do this every day from your spirit,) speaking wisdom 1 Cor 2:5-6 (Speaking your reality based on the promises of God and not on the things you see or experience around you), and look at the unseen 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (Develop your divine nature, see your glorious future and your blessed life in your spirit and pray them into being)!

Don’t think foolishly, don’t talk foolishly, don’t pray foolishly!!

You need to understand these things today!
