Caveat Emptor

He didn't want to be a pastor 
He didn't feel fit for it 
He had his baggage 
He had his past 
The stench from his past life 
reaches the high heavens 
He wasn't even sure he was as 
saved as those in the same 
church with him thought he was 
His change came as a result of 
being caught
He went to see a babe 
The babe was married 
They were right in the heart 
of their sinful indulgence 
When the lady's husband arrived 
It was 2AM 
The apartment was upstairs 
He dressed up speedily 
There was only one entrance 
The other exit through the kitchen 
was not functional
The lady hid him behind the main door 
He was shaken but calmed himself 
He met her at the club 
She didn't tell him she was married 
They got to the house quite late 
He wanted to take her to a hotel 
But she insisted her house was close by 
He was half drunk 
He didn't pay attention!
Everything was in a blur 
All the blood meant for his brain 
had been sent somewhere else 
He was only thinking of one thing! 
It would be better to say he was 
not thinking 
Hmmm! 
The lady's husband came in 
The lady started screaming 
"Help me, He is behind the 
door, the thief is here"
What! 
The door he was hiding behind 
was yanked off 
He saw the lady's husband 
He was a police officer 
He was in full uniform 
He had two other policemen with him 
The first slap that landed on his face 
knocked his head against the wall! 
He was beaten blue-black and 
dragged to the
Police station! 
It was while he was there 
that he discovered that he had 
been set up! 
The lady and the husband were
working hand in glove
They claimed he had a weapon
They claimed he picked her up
at the bar and pulled a knife on her
They claimed she took him home
under duress
They claimed he wanted to rob and 
rape her
He was shocked!
What!
But then they claimed he had done 
it before
She claimed he had once broken
 into her house
She claimed he stole 2 million 
naira and raped her 
She lied and lied
He was forgotten in jail 
He had nothing to say 
He was beaten 
He was tortured 
He knew his life as he 
knew it was over 
His moth had flown too 
close to the fire 
It has been consumed 
His cup of sin was full 
Repercussion had given him 
an uppercut 
He had suffered a knocked out
His wife cried her eyes out 
The woman he cheated on 
fought tooth and nail for him 
He was in jail for twenty-eight months 
The only escape he had in prison 
was religion 
He prayed like never before 
He made dangerous vows 
He gave his life to Christ 
All he wanted was a fresh start
A day before his arraignment
His wife came to him and said
A prophet she went to see told
her he would be out of prison
within the next twenty-four
hours!
Unbelievable!
On the day he was finally arraigned
 in court 
Everybody got the shocking news 
Both his accuser and her husband 
died in a motor accident on their 
way to Lagos from Benin! 
The case died a natural death 
afterward 
He knew God came through for him somehow 
He finally returned home
He didnt get home until two weeks later
But the prophecy was close to perfect
He had learned his lesson 
He was thankful for the support of his wife '
and her family 
He went to a church to give a special 
Thanksgiving offering 
He joined the church 
He became faithful to his wife 
His lust for strange skirts had died 
He became very serious with God!
Soon he joined the Sunday School 
department 
He grew he became an altar minister 
He grew so much 
He started seeing the power of God 
at work whenever ministered 
The church needed to plant a branch 
He was the obvious choice to lead 
the branch 
He had been born again for five years
That was how the committee in charge 
of church planting chose him to be
 the pastor of the new church! 
It was the last thing on his mind! 
The pastor told him what the committee 
decided and asked him to take some 
time to pray about it 
He said "Okay" 
But he knew he didn't want it=
When he got home, he met a prophet 
The same prophet his wife ran to for help 
when he was in prison! 
His wife regarded the prophet very highly 
The prophet said "You will be offered 
church to pastor soon! Tell them no! 
God has not called you to pastor a 
church"
The prophet left 
The next morning, as he was parking 
his car at his office, a woman 
approached him 
She introduced herself as a prophetess! 
She told him he had been given an 
offer to pastor a church, if he took it, 
it will be a death sentence! 
Wow!!!
He got into his office and prayed
As he was praying, his eyes opened 
He saw himself plucking choice fruits
When he had plucked a basket full and 
was sitting down to eat the fruits 
Monkeys came out of nowhere and 
started throwing stones and sticks at 
him to distract him 
He wanted to ignore them but 
he couldn't!
Then the Holy Spirit walked in and 
said "Do not be distracted? 
I am with you! 
Eat the fruits and tend the garden! 
It is all yours" 
Wow! 
Three days later, He told the pastor 
he would gladly be an instrument 
for the Master's use! 
He was ordained as a pastor the
 following Sunday!
It has been nine years 
Things only got better 
There was no death 
There was no calamity 
The work of God flourished
 in his hands 
The church grew and was backed 
up by miracles, signs and wonders! 
Perhaps the prophets lied or 
misinterpreted what they claimed 
they heard from God!
It didn't matter 

P:S We all have the inward witness 
of the Holy Spirit within us 
Let us depend on the Holy Spirit 
rather than the voice of strangers 
claiming they are from God 
Prophets are not infallible 
Prophets can manipulate and lie 
Prophets can be deceived!
