Christkind

Christkind

She came in early on a Wednesday morning
She looked like one of those ladies
One of those ladies who dress deliberately
for a meeting with a male
(NOT SEDUCTIVELY, but deliberately)
It was as if she was just coming out of a
beauty spa
She made a lot of effort to look very good
It piqued his curiosity
Why would a woman coming for prayer and
counseling take the time to look so good?
What was she hiding?
What was she up to?
It is usually either of the two!
Sometimes someone very sick would take
the time to dress so well to make himself
 or herself feel very good!
Sometimes someone emotionally sick
would dress in party wear on a drab day
just to get a lift!
The usual practice, especially for ladies
was to dress appropriately for an occasion!
In this case, what she wore was an overkill!
She sat down nervously
She was a fast talker!
She said "I apologize for how I am dressed!
I am depressed and the only reason
I was able to convince myself to leave
the house was by dressing this way!
My mind likes to Strutt and if I don't
dress this way, I will never leave the house!
I had to please my mind always"
The second reason was because I needed
prayer!
I was working for a media organization
for about eight years.
I was a dedicated staff member and I
even won numerous awards!
My organization was a young one although
we were owned by a politician who needed
us for his political relevance
Management was a problem!
The leadership of the organization was
changed as often as twice a year!
As usual, the leadership changed and
a Nigerian who has lived for a long time in
America was brought in!
He was a South-south but he married from
the South-west!
He had two children
He was eleven years older than I am!
Before this time I had never been in any
serious relationship!
I had been chased by many married men
but I found it insulting and I told such so!
His case was quite different!
He had been separated from his wife for
four years and the wife had a restraining
order on him in America!
Because of his wife he had to move from
Dallas to St. Louis in order to have some
peace of mind.
When he got the opportunity to work in
Nigeria, he took it just to leave the agony
of his previous marriage behind!
He was a sincere and loving man!
He saw my work and drew me closer on a
professional level!
It was through his influence that I got to
travel abroad for several professional
seminars and workshops
He was patient with me and very kind
Somehow I got to know his story and
we got close on a personal level!
Since our company's policy does not
allow staff members to get married
within the organization, he resigned
and joined another organization
in Osun state despite the fact that
he was earning more and I was the
subordinate!
He truly loves me!
After serving at his new place of work
He proposed to me!
Up until this time we had never been
intimate and I was very careful not to
be too physical with him!
He held my hand sometimes and we
hugged but that was that!
Anyway, he asked me to marry him!
He had hinted at the possibility of
proposing before then and had thought
about it!
I really liked him and wanted to marry him!
So I said Yes!
That day, he took me to his apartment and
we kissed for the first time!
I was not a virgin or anything like that but
I had been celibate for a long time and
I told him so!
He was gentle with me!
He treated me with respect
We made love and I was happy!
I slept in his apartment that day
Around 3 AM, I started to hear a
strange noise in the house
I woke up and went to his sitting-room
I saw him making a strange noise and
eating newspaper!
He had gone mad!
It was crazy!
I called my parents immediately,
In retrospect, I have come to see this
as a mistake but as at that time
I really didn't know what to do
My parents said I should get an ambulance!
I did and he was taken to the hospital
In all he spent three months there!
By this time my parents had made up
Their minds that I cannot marry him!
But I love him!
It didn't seem to matter to them!
When he was eventually discharged
I got a message from a strange number
The message said "He who carries the
carcass of a sparrow has carried
damnation"
It was written in Yoruba!
I showed it to him!
It was his wife's number!
They were not divorced yet because
she refused to sign the divorce papers!
She swore he would never remarry and
if he dared she would make him useless!
At first I thought he was just making stuff
up because of his mental condition,
until she came to my office last year June,
asked for me by name and told me she
would wreck me if I don't leave her tied
goat alone!
Nothing we did has worked!
Many of the pastors we went to had
zero interest in the case!
I would have left him but I don't think
that would be fair at all!
That was why I came!
I lost my job last year I designed because
I lost interest in the job I sit at home and
cry most of the time I am overwhelmed!
I really need help! I just want to be free
I also want him to be healed
This battle is too much for both of us
Please help us!"
Ironically, she was not a believer and
neither was he! He was an agnostic
She was of another religion
I told her of the only hiding place know
The strong tower that crushes nameless
and faceless fears and grinds sorcery to
dust!
I narrated my salvation story to her
How the name of Jesus delivered me from
wickedness and all it's attendant
consequences!
She believed!
She gave her life to Christ
I laid my hands on her and got her filled '
with the Holy Ghost
Them we held hands and prayed together
in the spirit
Power surged!
Within minutes she was rolling on
the floor!
The anointing flooded her and continued to
rise until every fibre of her body was taken
over by light and joy!
The yoke of depression was broken!
I told her to bring her man the next day!
They arrived at about 11AM He was a giant!
Tall and huge!
I kept wondering how I would lay my hands
on his head at my own height!
And I do not pray for people on their knees
So I held his hands!
I prayed in the Holy Ghost
She joined me
We prayed for about thirty minutes
Then he joined us!
He started shivering and shaking
Then he gushed...
Glory be to God!
After praying for a while, I led him to Christ!
I told him he had been healed of the
mental affliction!
He was shocked He said "Just like that"
I said yes!
Could see his eyes shining and dancing
He had been lit up I only instructed that
he made an habit of praying in tongues at
least an hour daily!
He say down afterward and we talked!
I told him not to dwell on the past
He said he hides from people because
of the shame
I told him to take his wife and return to
America
There is no more danger!
No one can harm him anymore I was so
confident of this!
They left at 3 pm
They met with her parents the following
weekend to announce their intention
to get married
Her parents told them to go ahead as long
as they would be living abroad!
They figured he would get better help for his
mental health condition in the USA
The wedding took place three months later!
When they were done at the registry,
they came to my office and I blessed
the union!
They left for the USA a few weeks later
(She had a two years visa already)
When they got to the USA, they found the
divorce papers, signed by his ex-wife in
the mail!
They had lived at peace
He was never afflicted again
She recently had a baby girl!
She works with the post office at their county
and he works with another government agency!

Ps: Demons can afflict mankind but they can
never afflict a Christkind!
He who is in Christ and full of the Holy Spirit
is a Christkind!
