The Spree

It was not really a disaster 
But it was worth a tear or two 
It was as if a wind of reversal suddenly 
came into her life 
She had high hopes that her expectations 
would come to pass that month 
She had been praying about her hopes 
for a while 
All the indicators pointed to good news
The promotion she was expecting at work 
A project she was a part of which earned 
her a six-figure profit the previous year 
Another project she was a part of which 
takes her outside the country at least 
three times a year 
The wedding of her younger brother 
which was long overdue
She had placed everything before the Lord 
in prayer 
And it was all going along smoothly 
In fact some of the projects had gotten to 
the point where she was just hours away
 from getting them over the line 
Then there was a stall 
And a stop 
It was as if she could see it in the realm 
of the spirit 
Something went terribly wrong 
What could that be? 
Two days later, her younger brother’s 
relationship shattered! 
That would be the sixth time he would 
be experiencing such 
They had prayed as a family and thought 
they have gotten the victory 
Then the promotion she was expecting 
was given to another! 
She had the assurance of her bosses 
that it was done! 
Only to be blindsided 
She ran home to her husband 
He was a Man of God! 
“What is happening? 
Why is everything falling over? 
Please pray for me” 
Her husband found himself in a tight 
situation
He knew why everything stopped working 
The Holy Spirit had told him two weeks 
before then 
He had tried to tell his wife 
But her emotions were reigning at the time 
and nothing could stop her from riding 
that emotional high! 
He needed his wife to understand what 
had happened! 
He said “Do you remember that our 
next-door neighbour had a motor accident 
a few weeks ago?” 
His wife nodded 
Do you remember sister so and so, who 
was abruptly sacked in your office? 
His wife said "Yes" 
Do you remember sister Q, your friend 
who suddenly lost a pregnancy? 
His wife nodded! 
Do you know what they all have in common?
His wife said “No” 
He said “They are all single mothers or 
as you usually put it “side chicks”! 
Do you remember the day you came home 
and after we had prayed you started 
cursing all the side chicks in our 
spiritual territory?
I tried to caution you that day 
But you took it out on me 
You said Men protect wayward women 
because they had the intention of 
getting involved with them! 
You went on a cursing spree 
You cursed everyone who had ever gotten 
involved with a married man or who is 
in a relationship with a married man! 
You didn’t limit it to your own home 
You were cursing arbitrarily because 
you were angry! 
Because they were sinners and you are 
God’s rod of punishment 
That day, you had a potent authority in your 
spiritual atmosphere and you used it to 
wreck a lot of havoc
Negative things started happening to 
“side chicks” around us! 
You were the one who informed me about 
our neighbor 
You even went to visit her in the hospital 
and you prayed for her! 
You stood in opposition to the gospel 
You pitched your tent with jealousy 
and rage 
You invited demons into the life of many 
because of your temper! 
You even accused me of aiding and abetting 
immorality telling me to use my platform 
to condemn and curse all side chicks and 
the unfaithful men they mingle with! 
You forget that this is not the Spirit 
of Christ! 
You forget that we are of the lineage of 
the blessed and we do not curse! 
We do not cast stones! 
We gather His sons and daughters 
We teach everyone the way of the Lord 
You have misused the anointing, 
you have invited demons to the feast 
of eagles by your action and as a 
result you have corrupted your reality
His wife was shocked! 
She believed that immorality should be 
condemned at all cost 
She felt she was pleasing the Lord 
While it is true that immorality should 
be condemned, it shouldn’t be condemned 
with curses and hatred! 
Love is the rod of correction in His Kingdom!
As long as we are in this world 
People will have all sorts of realities 
Our job as believers is to bring them into 
the Knowledge of Christ 
Christianity does not teach morality 
Christianity teaches belief in Christ 
Believers receive the Holy Spirit 
The Holy Spirit produces in us
the fruits of the Spirit 
The fruit of the Spirit produces Christlikeness 
Christlikeness produces the right lifestyle! 
We cannot do it another way! 
There is no other way 
Morality without Christ produces hypocrisy 
and self righteousness! 
His wife got it 
“How do I reverse this trend” she asked! 
They prayed together 
They blessed all the people she had cursed 
vehemently in the past 
They went visiting some of those they know 
personally who were affected by her emotional 
outburst and gave them supplies in cash and 
kind 
She got it as she spoke with them! 

PS: Single parents are not different from 
married couples 
The human condition is the same everywhere 
Love does not cast stones 
Love says “He who has no sin, should cast 
the first stone” 
Believers are the offspring of love and 
the word! 
Let us be like Him! 
Let us love like Him!
