Code Breaker
Immediately she graduated from the University
Her mother got on her case
"Get pregnant!"
She didnt understand what got into her mother
other mothers would encourage their daughters to keep their legs closed
Wait for the right man
Get married
Put your life in order
but not her mother
What sort of parenting was that?
When the pressure was too much she told her Father
"Daddy, please help me talk to mummy, she disturbs me both night and day to go and get pregnant,
I am a fresh graduate and i am just twenty two years old! Marriage is not even part of my immediate plans"
Her Father was a very level headed man
He was the exact opposite of her mother in his approach to issues
He sat her down
He told her of a recent discovery in the lineage of her mother
The women marry very early in order to have many children
They go into menopause in their thirties
Her father broke it down to her so well
He even supported his words with research materials
What the doctors discovered after they (her parents) failed to have another child despite all their efforts
Her Father told her she had about ten to fifteen years
To get pregnant and give birth to as many babies as she desired
The present economic condition of the country makes it unrealistic for him to tell her to go and get a husband
There are many men in their late thirties and early forties
Willing to get married and settle down but without the economic power to do so
The last time she had a medical check up
They had told the doctor to run a test on her to know if she was also affected by the condition
The test result had confirmed that she was
The earlier she gets into "Baby making" mode, the better for her!
She had always considered herself a very witty person
Her wits faded in the face of the news
She had flirted with the idea of a boyfriend only once
The guy met her at their Dean's office when she was in 200L
He was handsome and very cute
She couldnt help oogling him until he noticed her
He walked around to say hello to her
She was very flattered by his attention
They exchanged phone numbers
That same day, they met again at the bank
She saw him with some other guys in the banking hall
She watched him as she dialled his phone number
She watched as he smiled, told the guys to excuse him and walked briskly outside of the banking hall to pick her calls
She really liked his reaction
She told him she was in the bank
He came around and chatted with her until she was done with her transactions
She couldnt say exactly why she was so excited
or why she starred intently at him so much that she could practically tell all the features of his face
He wasnt exceptionally handsome
He simply made her giddy just as he was
Later that evening, as she lied down on her bed daydreaming about him
Three strange ladies came to her room
"Are you so and so, one of them asked"
She answered in the affirmative
"See, i know you are one of those "my daddy said girls"
let me tell you, your daddy's money can buy everything
but it cannot buy you my own boyfriend
So keep away from my man!
Did you hear me?"
She was too stunned to say a word!
Her roommates were equally stunned
Never in her wildest dreams did she think a day would come when she would be so humiliated
It took her a while to get over it
She deleted his number and blocked him instantly
And that was her last close call
She was 18 when it happened!
Her Father's words brought her into a place she couldnt describe
She had never felt under pressure to do anything
Suddenly she felt the pressure
She was not equipped for it
When her mother came to her room later in the evening to talk to her
All she could do was cry
Her mother told her she could arrange for a virile young man
Just for the sake of having sex
Or they could do IVF
The point is, if they assumed the worst, she could be into menopause by 30
Giving her a nine years room to be a mother
Once she had her children
She can continue with life and enjoy herself however she desired
But "I will really appreciate it if this curse is broken in your generation and you have more than one child"
TThe following day she called her campus fellowship leader
Although she had graduated, he had helped her tremendously in her walk with christ while she was on campus
Those of them who were admitted when he was graduating used to jokingly refer to him as
"Uncle Samuel" or "Senior Samuel"
He listened to her and told her the diagnosis was irrelevant
You are not a product of anybody's genetics
The Bible clearly stated that you are coded in the DNA of the Word of God
He opened the Book of John 1 for her to read:
{12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.}
He told her to tell her parents the doctor's diagnosis was false!
She didnt know why she believed him
Perhaps because she really didnt want to have children outside of wedlock
Or because she just found the idea of racing against time to live the life she desired weird!
How could she get short a short leash from God?
No way!
Genetics be damned!
She had always planned to pursue her masters abroad
She started applying that same day
Seven months later she travelled
Her mother cried, ranted, raved and begged!
Her Father surprisingly was very calm about her decision
She would marry at the right time and she would have her own children! Period!!
Of course she continued to pray about it!
But not by using the fear of her parent or the doctor's report as evidence
She stood upon the word of God and spoke words of affirmation into her own life and destiny
"My womb is the garden of the Lord, the breath of God is its seed
I am the blessed of the Lord, my womb is watered continually
I am a mother of many, a blessing to many generations"
She would lay her hands on her womb and say the words while praying in tongues
She did this consciously until it became a part of her
She finished her Masters, did her Ph.D and settled down to work
Her mother refused to speak with her
She spoke with her father every other day
Sometimes she would hear her mother in the background telling her father to talk some sense into her!
The day she turned 29 her mother arrived her door with a vengeance!
She was preparing for work when she heard the bell
When she opened the door, she found her mother there
She knew she was in for a fight!
She was already in a relationship at the time
The relationship was eight months old
The man in question was also a graduate of Bowen University
They met at an informal reunion party
He graduated two years after she graduated
He just finished his masters and was hoping his visa would be extended
That was why he wasnt making any concrete decisions about the future
She told her mother about him
Just to take the scowl off her mother's face
Her mother insisted that she should invite him over
She did!
He came over later that evening
Her mother told him point blank that she came to attend her daughter's wedding
"If you love my daughter please propose so that you can make me happy!"
She thought he would be embarrassed
He looked at her for a minute, stood up, approached her, went on one knee and said
"I love you with all my heart, so and so, will you marry me?
She couldnt believe it
If she didnt know her mother quite well, she would have thought she used something diabolical
She humoured him and said Yes!
They were married a year later
She delivered her set of triplets on Saturday 26th January 2019
She was 30 years old!
While she was pregnant, she told the doctors about the genetic issue her mother's investigation unearthed years before
They ran another test
The test showed she had nothing of such in her genetic make up
PS: The word works
I made haste to write the story
I needed the good news badly
Yesterday one of my readers gave a lady my number
The lady called me from port-Harcourt about her Father's ill health
As soon as I started praying she sent me a message that he had stopped breathing
Earlier today another lady sent me a message to join her in prayer
I was in church at the time and I couldnt attend to the issue right away
By the time i called she told me her two years old niece had died and had been buried
It had been a very wonderful day for me
Then I got this one phone call
From the past
The Word of God changed genetics
The word of God broke the DNA Code
The word of God brought us Zuriel, Adriel and Tabitha
Hallelujah
