Domino Effect
At the time kings go to war… David tarried still at Jerusalem”
-2nd Samuel 11:1
David should have been at the war front.
He decided not to go.
He sent Joab and the army to go fight the war.
And that was the beginning of the Domino Effect…
That evening, David walked aimlessly on the roof porch in the Palace.
He saw a woman bathing.
He sent for her.
He slept with her.
She got pregnant.
He got to know…
If only David had gone to war!
He plotted her husband’s death to cover up his sin.
Amnon his son raped Tamar his daughter.
Absalom his son killed Amnon his son in revenge.
Absalom stole the heart of the people.
He planned a Palace Coup against his own father…
If only David had gone to war!!
He fled from Jerusalem barefooted.
Shimei cursed him.
Shimei stoned him.
Ziba lied to him to get royal favors.
David believed the lie and took decisions based on it.
He did not confirm the info before acting on it…
If only David had gone to war!!!
Absalom slept with his concubines.
These women lived the rest of their lives as widows.
At the end of the day;
Uriah died
Several other gallant and loyal soldiers died.
Absalom died.
Ahitophel died.
Amnon died.
The baby died…
If only David had gone to war!!!!
None of these would have happened if David had gone to war.
Is there a war you are refusing to fight?
Is there a step you are refusing to take?
Is there a decision you are refusing to make?
BEWARE OF THE DOMINO EFFECT!
Shalom,
Haruna Daniels
