Invigoration
Let me narrate how the Holy Spirit helps my body to reinvigorate. While driving from Abuja to Adamawa after a very stressful week leading to the trip, I started the journey by 9 am on Sunday heading to Gombe so I could pass the night there and continue the journey the following day. The complete trip is about 16 hours and I wanted to do 10 hours and rest then complete it the next day.
After about 1 hour, I was already feeling sleepy behind the steering; my eyes were very heavy. If not that the trip was very important, I would have turned back without thinking about it twice. So, I started thinking about how I will at least manage to get to Jos and break the journey there. But it looked like I could not manage another hour at the steering. A lot of thoughts were going on in my head, then I remembered that I was not alone, the Holy Spirit was with me and He could help me out.
So, I said, “Holy Spirit help me.”
Immediately I remembered that I could talk to my body to do whatever I wanted it to do. I had learned in PSSBC class (a Bible school I am attending) by @GbengaWemimo that you can tell your body to go back in time so I told my body to go back to when I was not stressed, to go back to the time when my body was normal; then I spoke in tongues a little and continue driving.
After about a few minutes, it didn't seem like anything has changed, then I spoke in tongues again and continued.
I didn't even know that my body had experienced the supernatural strength I spoke to it. It just dawned on me that I was not feeling sleepy again and my eyes were as sharp as an eagle. My body was refreshed and I drove all the way to Gombe state without any stress.
Now this testimony will not make all the sense intended if I don't tell you why I was stressed and why what happened to my body was a big deal to me.
A weekend before, my brother's (not biological) traditional wedding was in Asaba, Delta state. So, we set out to Asaba on Friday morning around 6 am. My wife and two other guys were with me on the journey, we drove two hours and the car started overheating. We got a mechanic just before Lokoja, so he managed the car to his workshop and checked, and boom, the gasket was burnt. We were at the mechanic’s for about 8 hours. I left at about 5:30 pm and headed straight to Auchi, Edo so that at least we could be closer to our destination and continue the journey the following morning.
We got to Auchi by 9 pm, spent another hour looking for a good hotel to sleep in, woke up and left by 6 am on Saturday for Asaba which is about a 3-hour journey. The wedding was at noon, so we would have time to freshen up. Got to Asaba at 9 am and was still driving around before, during and after the wedding. There was no time to rest my body.
Early Sunday morning, we were already on our way back to Abuja. The journey of about 7 to 8 hours took about 15 hours. Policemen stationed between Edo and Kogi were all out to milk motorists, they were stationed closely together and at every checkpoint they wasted your time and demanded money for any negligible thing. Then I had a flat tyre and quickly changed it.
We got to Abuja safely. GLORY.
The following weekend, was the church wedding in Abuja. I was the coordinator for the wedding and you can imagine how stressful that would have for me. Let me not bore you with the details of events that happened during the week.
The venue for the wedding on Saturday had a beauty pageant event on the eve of the wedding so the decoration for the hall could not be done the night before, church service in the same hall was by 10 am.
I couldn't sleep, I was monitoring the pageant, and they finished at 4 am on the wedding day so we immediately started our setup. The vendors slept over at the venue, so the decorator and the media were able to at least get everywhere ready by 10 for the service. Yours truly was making sure, everything went well. And to the glory of God all went well.
This was what happened before my trip which was the following day after the wedding.
Now the final part of the testimony is that I was thinking that the Holy Spirit helped so I could get to Gombe and rest from all exhaustion but to my surprise, it was as if I had not been stressed at all. Please, be encouraged, that the Holy Spirit is your Help. Walk with Him.
