Pushback

When the head refuses to lead the way, 
it is confused as to its role! 
It is not confused as to what it is, 
it only wonders why instead of leading 
it is being dragged along by the rest 
of the body! 
Like an appendage or a liability, 
strictly to be tolerated or pitied by all! 
That was her case! 
She had her ICAN at the age of 21! 
Everything pointed to a speedy rise for her 
She also had a very responsible boyfriend 
He was studying law and had a very strong 
passion for music! 
He was 23 gears old at the time! 
She started working with a firm, the pay 
was good
She was saving and buying things in 
preparation for marriage and setting up 
her own home 
Suddenly she got a phone call from 
her boyfriend's mother! 
They had met twice before 
Her boyfriend didn't really like his mother 
He claimed she was manipulative and 
domineering 
He told her to keep far away from his 
mother! 
She obeyed him 
The first time she met his mother was 
during his 21st birthday! 
He was in school 
His mother and siblings brought him 
his birthday cake and gifts 
She went to his room to celebrate the 
day with him 
That was how they met 
She knew right
There why her boyfriend and his mother 
were at odds! 
His mother was the type who believes 
they had figured out tomorrow and all 
you have to do to be successful was 
follow their plan! 
Her boyfriend is by nature adventurous 
and impulsive! 
He doesn't want anybody telling him 
what to do with anything! 
Throughout the birthday ceremony, 
his mother kept trying to manipulate him 
into taking up an internship position with 
one of his uncles instead of spending the 
time pursuing his music as he planned! 
It wasn't a nice sight and the day was 
effectively ruined by all push and the 
pushback between both mother and son! 
The second time she met his mother 
was during his father's five years 
memorial service! 
She had to be with him! 
He was in final year at the time and they 
were definitely headed for the altar! 
The occasion was very formal!
She met her greeted her and went back 
to her seat! 
She left the event early because she 
had to prepare for her examinations! 
So the phone call was somehow strange! 
His mother said she wanted to see her 
immediately 
She dressed up and rushed to see 
his mother! 
His mother was upset
Her son had refused to dance to her tune 
and that was because she as his girlfriend 
was a bad influence on him! 
He had warned her that his mother would 
do anything to get her way in any situation, 
even hinted that it was her manipulations 
that got his father to go on a trip he
Didn't want to go and ultimately led to 
his demise in a motor accident! 
His mother raged and gave her an 
ultimatum to get him to change his mind 
or forget the relationship! 
(A weak woman cannot marry my son) 
That was her exact word! 
She went home sinking 
She found herself in a  web of ill intention 
She didn't want to tell him 
She would most likely destroy the 
relationship between mother and son 
But she was still contemplating what 
to do when he came to see her 
She found a wise way to tell him to 
settle the feud between himself and 
his mother 
He knew his
Mother had reached out to her 
Somehow she told him the truth! 
He got angry immediately 
He said his mother spreads bile 
everywhere she goes 
He didn't do anything at that moment 
As soon as he graduated he found his 
way out of the country 
He didn't tell anybody 
Not even her! 
Wow!
When his mother found out he had 
left the country 
His mother called her and said 
"Since you have opted to ensure that 
I do not profit from my own children, 
your parents will never profit from 
you too! 
You will see the difference between 
earthly witch and firmament witch" 
Wow!
Things took a bad turn for her after then! 
The firm she was working with folded up 
and she couldn't get another job! 
Things got so bad that she started 
selling recharge cards! 
Still she could barely feed twice a day 
Her younger ones prospered 
Got married and started building a
Life! She couldn't! 
No man, no job! 
Her life was empty! 
She became a charity case 
One the family would do a meeting on
 WhatsApp about, contributing money 
for her welfare 
She prayed and fasted! 
The curse held sway 
She reached out to the Brother in 
Jeans and T-shirt She told him
Her story! 
He laughed! "What is earthly which 
and firmament witch? 
How can you believe that? 
Before the spell of a witch can work 
in your life, you must 

actually see the 
witch as something! 
Apostle Paul said " We know that idols 
are nothing" 1 Cor 8:4! 
How can "nothing" curse you
She had never seen it that way 
The curse was real and it's effect was real 
But truthfully If zero issues a million curses, 
it will still be zero! 
Nothing can do nothing to something! 
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt laid his 
hands on her 
He told her she had allowed evil words
to grow in her fertile spiritual space 
He commanded the words to be uprooted 
He pronounced the blessing of the Lord 
upon her 
She believed 
The following week Her younger brother 
sent her a link to a job 
She applied 
She was offered the job 
During the interview, her employer realised
She was a chartered accountant 
Her salary was doubled and she was 
placed as the head of the accounting 
team of the firm! 
Her employer even apologized to her 
because the salary seemed small 
compared to what other charter 
accountants were paid! 
He made her promise not to leave the
firm for at least two years while they grow! 
After eleven years in the more clay 
Her feet finally found a rock to stand on!
