Alternate Reality

What she really wanted to do was run
Run far, far away
Just like her elder sisters
Find her way abroad
Jump into the wind and get thrown anywhere
She tried
She tried very very hard
It didn't happen!
She was stuck in the country
She was stuck in a familiar community
She was stuck with familiar people
She had a too familiar story
She understood she could only find rest 
when she was far away
But "far away" has refused to have her!
Her mother had seven children
All of them were ladies
All of them had a peculiar reality
in common
They have a spirit husband!
Not "one spirit husband" to each
They all share one spirit husband with
their mother
Their mother was never married
She wanted to
But all the men that she ever agreed
to get married to died mysteriously
There was no problem sleeping with 
the men or getting pregnant for them
But the moment such a man proposes
and she accepted the proposal
The man will have an accident and
die!
Four of her mother's suitors died before
her mother accepted her fate
After the death of the second man, her
mother left her father's house
The stigma was too much and she knew
no man in the community would ever
come near her again
Her mother moved to Kano to live with
an uncle!
She met another man there
They got involved and her mother got
pregnant 
They decided to get pregnant
The man died 21 days to the wedding!
Her mother delivered a set of twins
She left Kano for Ibadan
She met another man
She got pregnant again
Wedding talks started
The man was mangled to death by a
trailer with failed brakes at
Ojoo, on his way to the mosque!
This was when her mother realized
there was more to her matter than meets 
the eye
Her mother visited all sorts of spiritualists 
She was told all sorts
Her family members were branded witches
and wizards
Her mother severed all ties with family
Her mother moved to Lagos
By this time her mother already had
four children (Two sets of twins)
She had no husband or family to run to
She raised her children alone
She was a typist
She worked with a state-owned library
and also did some typing work for
students and individuals with documents
to type!
It was at the library that her mother met
her father
All they planned to have was an affair
Her father was a married man
Her father's wife was a very loving woman
who saw her mother's plight and paid
her and her children some attention
Her father somehow convinced her mother
his wife wouldn't mind them sleeping 
together
Her mother believed
They made her
Her father's wife found out
All hell broke loose
Her mother had to resign and run
Her father's wife went diabolical
And her mother was no match for such a 
spiritual battle
Her father, however, was a man with a 
kind conscience
He had a farm at Alakia area in Ibadan
He gave her mother the deed to the farm
He said her mother should manage the 
farm and fend for herself and her children
with the proceed!
That was how her mother hit a jackpot!
The farm was a big deal
Poultry, a piggery and a fish farm
Some land for cassava and maize cultivation
A modest farmhouse
The farm was surrounded by modern houses
The land on which it was built was worth
millions, (should her mother decide to sell)
Wow!
They moved to the farm from Lagos
Her mother put all five children in 
Army Children School, Iwo Road, Ibadan
She bought a "shalake" Toyota Station wagon
And they all got to work on the farm
They met four people on the farm
The manager, two farmhands and one 
security man
Her mother was about 34 years old at
this time
The first set of twins were 12
The second set were 8
She was about 4 years old
Things started getting better for them
They didn't have a male figure at home
She didn't know why this bothered her
mother so much 
Her mother started bringing home
"Uncles" and "Daddies"
They usually come in the evening 
and leave between 11PM and 1 AM
The farm was in a secluded area
and nobody would suspect "her husband"
was being bunked there by another
woman!
By this time the older ones knew that
the men that came around were sleeping
with their mother
She also had an idea!
Her mother was a serial monogamist of sort
She did not date two men at once
She however dated many back to back
She had some financial flexibility and
could make her own choices
She visited a lot of churches looking for
help in securing a husband
She was always saying "She didn't want
to live her life alone without anybody
to love her"
Eventually, her mother met a prophet
A self-proclaimed anointed one with 
dreadlocks
He had lived in euro[pe for many years
and claimed an angel showed him her mother
and instructed that they were meant for
each other
Her mother got pregnant for him and delivered
a set of twins (The third set)
He lived with them on the farm for three
years 
Her mother wanted him to marry her
He refused to make any commitment 
He drove her mother's car, drank a lot,
slept with other women, spent her mother's
money and ate free food
Eventually, her mother insisted he must 
marry her or leave
He had collected a lot of money from her
mother and claimed to have healed her
of the spirit husband issues!
Her mother expected him to confidently
lay his life on the line to prove it
He refused!
When her mother continued to mount
pressure on him
He told her mother the truth!
Any man that married her would die
because she was married in the spirit 
realm!
He moved out afterward
He had the record of the only man who lived
with her mother under the same roof 
and related with her as a husband should
But the relationship was not legally binding!
Her mother knuckled down and started
paying attention to the farm and her life
The men friend phase somehow ended with
Prophet Dreadlock
She had other relationships, but she was 
careful
Her daughters were growing fast and 
she couldn't take things for granted again!
The problem started when the first set of
twins started meeting boys and fooling
around
They went to a birthday party
They met some guys
One of the guys asked one of the twins for a 
dance
Another guy took offense because he wanted
to ask first
They had a fight
One stabbed the other to death!
It was all somehow!
A story without any logical thread!
When their mother heard, she panicked
She ran to a well-known spiritualist
The spiritualist told her what he knew
"You and all your daughters are all bound
to one man, you have been with him before
this age and you had an agreement with
him never to marry another!"
Their mother told them
Her sisters disbelieved it
Until one of them said yes to her
man on Christmas eve
By Christmas morning, the guy
was found dead in the boot
of his car
The police claimed it was suicide...
Who commits suicide the day after
getting a "Yes" from the love of
his life?
The mystery was omnious
By this time she was an undergraduate
She noticed that most guys just
want to be friends with her
They talk to her freely about other
girls, their crushes and sometimes
asked her to put in a word for them
with a lady they are admiring
But nobody paid her such attention
She had always had a peculiar challenge
She was a dreamer
None of her sisters had the same 
dream reality like she did
She had been having sex in the dream
since she was eleven
She had seen herself and many
other ladies naked and taking turns
to sleep with a man in a dream
Her dreams were always so vivid
So real!
She knew she was never going to get
married
The reality she had tallied with the
reality her mother battled with
There were many things she couldn't
assk her mother and sisters about
But she could deduce a lot of things!
When she turned 27, she met a 30 year
old man at her office
He was gentle, organised, introspective,
cordial and caring
He paid her the attention of a lover
He alos gave her the room to make her
own decisions
She couldn't help but fall in love with
him!
He told her he wanted to marry her
She told him the whole story
She started with her mother and sisters
She made him realize how dangerous
getting into a relationship with her can be
He didn't take it lightly
He told her they will deal with the issue 
together
He was the man for her!
She spoke with pastors, she prayed
After six months of dilly-dallying
She agreed to be his wife
That very night, she had a dream
The man she was always sleeping with 
in the dream came for her
She did her dance
She rode him hard until she came
It was her best sexual experience in the
dream by far
When she woke up, she cried
she wondered when it would stop
Two hours later, her phone rang
Then it rang again
Then it just rang and rang
Something terrible had happened
Her man had been murdered by
some riff-raffs around 5:30AM that
morning
He was on his way to work
The riff-raffs wanted his laptop and 
wallet
He resisted and he was macheted!
His killers were arrested that same
day
SHe went to see him at the morgue
She wished she never said yes
She wished she never tried to have a
relationship
She had made a scape goat of the love
of her life
She reached out to the Brother in Jeans
and T-shirt
"I don't mind not getting married
But I want to have at least two children.
I don't want this fate for my children!
Can I be free?
Can this rot stop on my own generation?
Can my children do better?
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt told
her what it means to be a citizen of Zion
There are maladies that afflict the sons
of the first Adam because of the fall!
But the Second Adam gave his kind a
mandate of victory
"When you give your life to Christ, you
become a Kind of Christ, a joint heir! 
You are seated together with him in
heavenly places! On the right side of
the Father! Demons cannot ascend to that
realm! 
They were thrown down from it with the
devil!
Give your life to Christ, receive the baptism
of the Holy Spirit, walk consciously in this
realm and your reality will be changed"
She believed
She received
She was translated
No sacrifice or drama was necessary
When he laid hands on her to receive 
the Holy Spirit
Her whole body caught fire!
She almost tore her clothes to tatters
The power of the Holy Spirit burnt
off the homing mark of the evil one
She fell down and laid down as if
she was dead
Few minutes later, she stood to her feet
The newest citizen of Zion!

They have two children (A set of twins)
Her turnaround happened in 2017

There are realities you walk into in the 
name of love and you are sucked into a gulf
of darkness and woe
Those who had been delivered from 
this reality and those who are currently living 
in it know it is hell!

The river of life is free for all to drink of,
the leaf of the tree of life is still for the 
healing of the nations!
If you come to Jesus, your reality will
be changed!
