Grudge

It started in JSS1 
The class teacher was tired 
of the noise-making of all the 
students 
She decided to do a rearrangement 
She paired a male and a female 
It was very intentional 
At that age 
Girls are squirmish about 
talking to boys 
Boys are also wary of girls 
The result was great
The noise-making in the class 
reduced drastically 
The students talked 
But in whispers, 
The teacher also made sure 
to separate close friends and 
siblings 
It worked like magic 
That was how they began 
She was paired with him 
They were both eleven years old 
She was not shy at all
She was an athlete 
Long-distance athlete 
She was very good! 
He was her cheerleader 
They were both in the same 
House During the inter-house sports 
She was the queen of the track 
She also did long jump and high jump 
He liked to watch run like a panther
He supported her with a passion 
He liked her!
Before long their classmates started 
calling them names 
Teasing them 
Treating them like they were dating 
He didn't mind 
She didn't mind too 
Academically they were both average students 
But he helped her with her homework 
sometimes 
Especially when she had to train 
He didn't mind at all!
By the time they got to SS1 
They had knitted together in their hearts 
They spent break time together 
They spent prep time together 
They were in the boarding house 
They also spent stolen time together 
Talking about family, friends, 
teachers, whatever! '
Just being together was life
The second term of SS2 
A new boy was admitted into the 
school from nowhere 
He was different 
He was intelligent 
He was eloquent 
He was devious and rough 
The boy was placed in their class 
He didn't know how it happened 
His babe started warming up to 
the new guy 
It was humiliating
The new guy was so good that 
he was made to lead the debate team 
He won laurels all over 
His babe won laurels in sports 
The two of them were constantly 
traveling for sports and debates 
Somehow the new guy snatched 
his babe 
He stole her affection and turned 
her head mercilessly
He simply couldn't compete 
He tried 
His babe told him there was nothing to it 
at the beginning 
But as time went on 
His babe started dodging him 
When he went to her hostel to ask for her
 She would either be sleeping, 
out or tired 
She was always with the new guy 
He lost out badly!
His friends told him not to take it 
His instinct told him to deal with 
the new guy 
But the new guy was mad! 
He kept company with all the bad 
students in the school and still 
surpassed all academically 
He was a strange act 
He started using earrings in SS3 
and even dyed his hair
He loathed the new guy! 
How dare someone who left wreckages, 
pain and destruction in his wake 
be that loved?
His babe was married but he was 
sure she would sleep with the new 
guy if he asked her 
She still loved him 
He saw it 
She didn't even look in his direction 
Not once!
He left the reunion party by 12noon 
It started at ten 
It was supposed to close by 5 pm 
He went to the local market 
He asked questions 
He was directed to a man 
He told the man what he wanted 
The man told him what it would cost 
He didn't want to kill 
He just wanted to punish
He wanted to put to open ridicule 
the confidence of the new guy 
He wanted to teach him a lesson 
He got what he wanted It was in a 
white handkerchief 
He was supposed to use it to touch 
the new guy 
He got back to the reunion party by 2 pm 
The organizers we're doing mock 
awards
As usual, the new guy was given the most
Influential award! 
Everybody clapped 
The new guy had really done well for himself 
The new guy went to receive the award 
As the new guy was coming down the podium 
He saw his opportunity 
He walked towards the new guy and 
shook his hand with the handkerchief
The new guy smiled at him 
Shook his hand and walked away 
He waited! 
Nothing happened! 
The new guy didn't go crazy 
The new guy didn't fall down in an 
epileptic fit 
Nothing! 
He had spent years waiting for vengeance, 
spent time and money and yet Nothing! 
The party ended He lost
A few days later 
His hand started seizing 
He just noticed that whenever he
 wanted to move the right hand 
It wouldn't move! 
Wow! 
He went to the hospital! 
He was told he was losing control 
of some nerves 
His wife ran to their church 
Prayers were said! 
Still no improvement! 
Pain persisted!
Eventually, he got to a prophet 
The prophet told him to go and 
confess his sin 
He started making calls 
He got the phone number of 
the new guy 
He went to see him on a Sunday 
He took his pastor along 
He confessed 
The new guy was a brother in Christ 
He forgave him and prayed for him
He was fully restored! 
The new guy introduced him to the 
Brother in Jeans and T-shirt 
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt listened 
to their stories and laughed! 
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
told him why diabolic charms
cannot work on the new guy
The Bother in Jeans and T-shirt
asked him if he would like
to give his life to Christ
He said YES!
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
led him to Christ and got him filled
with the Holy Spirit
They all became brothers in Christ 
Sharing one communion 
Forgetting old realities 
Walking in the light as one!

Who can stand against His anointed
Who can stand against those whose
lives are hid in Christ as Christ is hid
In God?
When you come into Christ
You walk in a reality that is far above
principalities and powers
You are seated with Christ in the 
Heavenlies!
You are in the strong tower
You are safe!
