Panic

It started with the dreams 
He would see himself in a coffin, sometimes 
the coffin would just be lying there
Sometimes the coffin would have been interred
with him in it
Sometimes the mortician would be dressing him
up, preparing him for burial
It was an eerie sight!
He always woke up in a panic mode
Who wouldn't?
To see yourself being dead, lifeless, gone totally
To see yourself being committed to mother earth
To see death and to be dead!
Once he had startled awake
He would get on his knees and pray
it was a terrible omen
Terrible, terrible, terrible
Didn't the Bible say he shall live and not die?
He would pray in tongues, kayayayayayaya
He would cast and bind
He would come against every spirit of death
Then he would come against every spirit 
of the grave
Then he would come against accidental
or intentional demise
He would quote the scripture and stand on 
the word
But then again, about two or three days
later he would have the same dream
The dream persisted for several months
He didn't mention it to his wife
He had been taught that God speaks to his
children through dreams
He believed God was telling him something
Showing him a sign
But his wife was pregnant and he didn't want
to get her unnecessarily worried
One night while they were sleeping, right in the
middle of the night, his wife screamed 
He had been right in the middle of his own
nightmare
He woke up in a daze
His wife was six months pregnant at the time
"Darling, what happened," He asked his wife
His wife narrated the nightmare she was having
She saw herself dead, lying in a black coffin
and being buried!
It was so real she virtually had to scream her
way out of the darkness of the grave 
into the light
As soon as his wife finished narrating the story
He realised it was a confirmation
Death had honed In on his family
He didn't know who they offended but someone
somewhere was determined to kill both him and
his pregnant wife
Personal prayer had failed
They needed an extra-push out of their 
predicament!
Outside of the dream, everything was perfect
He had a fantastic job and so did his wife
They had been married for only three years but
he had almost completed his building project at
a choice area of the city
He was a contractor with the government
His firm was an honest one
His reputation stood alone in the construction 
business
He had prospered under the current political 
government because a commissioner in the 
government who knew him personally from the
church decided to use his services exclusively
in executing projects
Knowing he wouldn't cheat in any way!
He knew there would be adversaries
A lot of people covet his position and 
achievements
But death!
How could people be so callous?
What would be their gain if he and his wife died?
Money, houses, cars, what?
Not when he still drew breath and had something
to say about it
He would have called his pastor
But his pastor was one of those "Take it easy"
pastors
His pastor was not a hot prayer warrior
His pastor did not see visions or walk in power
He was one of those Christians who quoted
what God is saying verbatim from the Bible!
His pastor did not hear from God directly!
He needed a nuclearized prophet, someone
with a zing and a homing device
Someone who would Nagasaki the coven where
the plot of the enemy was being hatched with
one word
He made some frantic calls
Someone somewhere directed him to a prophet
A "sizzling hot" man of God!
They took permission from their pastor not to
be in the church that Sunday
They went to the church of the prophet
They got there early and sat right in the front
Service started
They were fully into it
God must see that they were sincere
They gave their all
The prophet mounted the altar to preach
Like a laser beam, the prophet latched on to them
"My brother, I see a coffin and a grave
before you"
"My sister I see you dead and buried"
Within a week
By this time next Sunday, you two will be on
the other side
Put your affairs in order
The lord wanted me to tell you that it was not
for any sin, you have committed
He giveth and he taketh, who can question him?
He is sovereign!
Then the prophet moved on
Right in the middle of the sermon, the prophet
turned to another man and told him almost the
same thing
He had seven more days
No more, no less!
He gave other prophecies to other worshippers
Great and mighty ones
But to the three of them, he pronounced a death
sentence
After the service, they went to see the prophet
It was only fair that they seek a solution or an
alternative
The prophet told them stories of how
he had ransomed many from the grave
He shared testimonies of strange altars he had
broken and strange realms he had reached into
to redeem those bound for premature death!
The prophet told them they would need some
money to appease death
"You said you have been praying and fasting
but the dreams persisted! There is something
an angel taught me called "Redemption"
We would dress the two of you in burial shrouds
and lay you in the grave
We would do some rituals and pull you out
then we would get two banana trees, do 
some things on them, wrap them in burial 
clothes and bury them in your place!
Since the grave is determined to have you
and it seemed its thirst cannot be sated by
ordinary prayer and fasting
We have to move to the next level and offer
the grave substitutes
The ritual is very expensive and had to be done
within three days
So that the demonic forces set on your trail
would be thrown off the scent of your blood!
Each of them was asked to pay two million
naira 
Making six million for himself, his wife and
their unborn baby
He told the prophet he would come back to
see him first thing the next morning
On their way home, his wife changed her mind
"The prophet was not consistent, she said
it was God that wanted to kill us in front of the 
whole church but when we got to his office
he said it was the grave and demons!
I am not comfortable with this ritual thing!
I am not interested!"
He understood what his wife was saying
logically but they were no longer operating
in the realm of logic!
He tried to persuade his wife but she wouldn't
budge
The next morning, he went to see the prophet
alone
He paid the money and did the ritual
he assured the prophet that he would bring his
wife the next day
He never got back home!
There was traffic while he was driving
home
A shipping container fell off the truck on
his left-hand side and crushed him to death!
It was a morbid and bizarre death
When his wife got the news of his death
She reached out to the Brother in Jeans and
T-shirt
She explained what had happened
Death has taken my husband and is now pursuing 
me and my baby!" she cried
He told her not to panic!
It was a mirage!
Death has been defeated for you, sickness
has been defeated for you, the grave has been
defeated for you!
The devil is like a roaring lion all he does
is scare a believer into a panic mode
And then the believer would walk right into
a trap!
If your husband didn't do the ritual he would 
be alive right now!
He had been having the dream for several months
and he was fine as long as he did nothing
He neither shared the dream nor gave it a voice
But the moment he shared it and started seeking
experiential and physical solutions to a spiritual
puzzle, he opened himself up to demonic attacks
through the ritual, he subjected himself to in the
hands of the "prophet"
The devil had successfully scared your husband
into the clutches of one of its certified agents who
did the rest!
"What should I do now," She asked
"Nothing! Ignoring the devil is not being lackadaisical
it is biblical! Your eyes should be on Jesus alone,
He is the author and finisher of your faith!
Just mourn your husband and know
this strange spiritual mirage has lifted!" 
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt replied
On the day her husband was buried, the third
man who got the same prophecy at the church
was at the funeral!
The man told her that he listened to the prophet
and would have done the ritual but he didn't
have the money!
He said he went back home and started preparing
himself for death by fasting, praying and 
reading the Bible!
He said when he heard about her husband's death
and steeled himself for the worst
but it never happened!
The seven days were slow and torturous 
but nothing of significance happened
It just passed!

The wife delivered the baby three months later
She remarried in 2017 and had her second
child in 2018
Professing to be a Christian and being a Christian
are two different things
A King does not rush into war
He consults and considers and plans
King Saul panicked and offered a sacrifice that
Samuel ought to offer
He lost his throne as a result (1 Samuel 13)
Saul panicked and consulted a Necromancer
He died the next day (1 Samuel 28)
Jesus heard that Jairus Daughter was dead
He said "Don't panic, only believe" Mark 5:36
When Jesus heard that Lazarus was dead
He didn't panic, he knew what he had the power
to do!
The disciples panicked when they saw Jesus
walking on water! Jesus told them to calm down!
Please calm down!
A dream or a nightmare should not ride you like
a horse
It is true that so many Pastors and General Overseers
have taught believers to put more faith in dreams and
nightmares than who they are in Christ!
This teaching is wrong and it is an error!
The Word of God is the more sure word of prophecy
Build your life on that!
If God exalted His word above his name, please
exalt God's word above your dreams and Nightmares!
Heaven and earth shall pass away
So will dreams and prophecies and nightmares
The one thing that will stand forever is the word of GOD!
He framed the world by the word of His power
and you can do the same!
