Prevailing Dreams

Prevailing Dreams

And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more (Genesis 37:5). There are no laws in heaven or on earth against dreaming big. So, as a Christian, you’re at liberty to dream and dream big. Let your dream of success be big enough for God to get involved with it. Let your dreams be such that will require the power of God to accomplish. That’s why I love the man Joseph in the Bible. As a young lad, his dreams were out of this world! Though his brothers hated him for all his extraordinary dreams of greatness, he kept on dreaming and telling them about his dreams. A man with a big dream can attract God’s attention. That’s why even in prison, Joseph kept rising to the top. He eventually became the prime minister of Egypt and saved both Egypt and several other nations from famine.

A man or woman who has learned to dream big will become adept at mastering dreams and nursing dreams into fulfillment. In today's world, dreamers will go to non-dreamers who are older than them and ask them to please interpret or help them to situate themselves in the middle of their dream so that they will know which direction they are to navigate towards. Non-dreamers however can never understand the bearing of a dream and as such they end up guessing or making wild assumptions to the ruin of the dreamer. You do not cast your pearls before swine. Eli was a custodian of divine mysteries and secrets. Samuel was a young dreamer, a boy whose ears and eyes were opened to see the plans and the mysteries of God long before they unfold. Eli asked Samuel what he saw, Samuel told him Eli said "He is God, let him do as he pleases". Pharaoh was a custodian of men who delved into mysteries and secrets as a form of science. He understood that certain dreams are simply the product of a wandering soul but he had also seen enough within the walls of his palace to know that certain dreams indicate what is to come. When he saw the mystery of the coming famine and years of plenty depicted through imageries representing grain and livestock, he knew his soul was peeping through the veil of Chrono. He reached out to the sages but none could help and yet the image disturbed him sorely. He eventually pushed beyond the walls of his palace and located Joseph, a prisoner who had mastered the realm of meaningful dreams since his childhood.

Joseph was recommended by a man who saw him correctly interpret the dreams that determined the destiny of two prisoners. The man knew Joseph's dream was big enough to keep him alive and hopeful even in the dungeon. Everything a slave or prisoner holds dear can be summed up in one word, dreams! Some of them just have wishful thinking regarding their freedom, others take the time of solitude and reflection to come up with plans to do more evil or to turn their lives around for good while others nurse the sort of dreams that would change the whole world.

Joseph's dream, which had long been sustained by hope and words of affirmation and encouragement was fulfilled the moment he unraveled Pharaoh's dream. Pharaoh pronounced him the Prime Minister of Egypt immediately! A prime minister however must know how to govern, he must know how to keep emotions in check and manage people. He must be able to think on his feet and solve problems regarding trade, commerce, farming, preserving grains, Tax reforms, wealth distribution and many more. Joseph had been taught all this while he was in prison, he didn't know when he was thrown into prison that he was going to the School of Hard Knocks where he would learn how to govern a Nation. It all came together when he began to formulate policies for Egypt. Joseph's dreams were being fulfilled when his brothers sold him into slavery. His dreams were being fulfilled when Potiphar bought him. His dreams were being fulfilled when Mrs. Potiphar offered herself to him even though she knew she would not take kindly to rejection. His dreams were being fulfilled when he entered the Gulag. His dreams came to pass when he used the knowledge he had mastered to fulfill the task he was crowned for. The day his brothers came to Egypt to buy grains, everything he saw and shared fell into place. Many start as dreamers but they allow the evil one to turn their dreams into a weapon that destroys them.

Africans especially have allowed their imaginations to be so loaded with evil that they cannot dream of good things anymore. Their imaginations had become so corrupted and darkened by pastors and other spiritualists who peddled dreams as always full of evil and affliction. Many start as dreamers and their dreams have nurtured their destiny in Christ. They did not allow agents of darkness to corrupt their dream and turn something so glorious into prayer points and deliverance sessions. There are dreams borne of fear then there are dreams borne of grace and glory. I dream daily of freed minds and consciousnesses who burn with the fire of the Holy Spirit and are not confined by religious dogma and human doctrine. It is a dream I work on daily by preaching the gospel and ridding the world of all the lies and hypocrisy of religion without fear. If your dream can be stolen so easily, it is not a prevailing dream.
A prevailing dream wins all arguments, stands firm against every opposition, turns every adversity into an adaptation manoeuvre and wins every time. It is neither cowered by policies nor by dream killers, it is powerful enough to sponsor itself and keep itself alive for as long as it desires. This is the kind of dream that the Lord is giving to this generation right now. We are being seeded with prevailing dreams as I write this. It is time for you to dare to dream big again.
A man or woman who has resources but lacks a dream will end up surrendering his or her resources to the one who has a dream but has no resources. A dream is stronger than a wish. A big dream is capable of changing the whole world, ask Alexander the Great, ask Daniel, ask Moses, ask Martin Luther King Jnr, ask Ghandi, ask Nehemiah, ask Abraham, ask John the Baptist, ask Jesus, ask Apostle Paul, ask Apostle Peter, ask me.
The power of a dream lies in the strength of its will to prevail against all odds. It is time for you to dream again. It is time for you to dream against all odds, it is time for you to consciously come up with meaningful and achievable dreams, it is time to leave the mindset of getting afflicted in dreams and allowing the enemy to weaponize your imagination against your destiny, it is time to plan for the coming days and begin your journey towards turning what you have seen to something real and tangible, it’s time for you to dream and dream big. It’s a decision you must make. Dream big for your finances, family, job, or business. Make sure your vision for success is big enough to require the supernatural element! Stretch your vision. If you were planning to start of a small shop, go ahead, but begin to dream of owning a mall. Refuse to put your mind to sleep; keep dreaming! See yourself doing big things. Have a different way of thinking. Your heavenly Father is big, and his resources are limitless. Not only is he able to cause your visions of success to come to pass, he is more willing and enthusiastic about your success than you could ever be.
PS: The GSWMI annual Carol service will be coming up in Lagos on the 14th of December. The GSWMI Widows Ministry and The GSWMI Christian Social Responsibility Ministry are planning to give welfare packages and relief materials to the needy in society as we do every month of the year, especially at the end of the year. If you can be there for the service, please come. I will be there and many ministers will be there to attend to both the spiritual and material needs of all.
