Sharp Shooter

His primary challenge was talking to a woman! 
He just couldn't do it 
He had tried so many times 
His tongue cleft to the roof of his mouth 
His lips quavered 
His palms sweated 
His knees wobbled 
His hands shook 
His breath shortened 
His body trembled 
It was as if he was going to die
That had been the problem since his 
secondary school days 
He went to a boys-only secondary school 
And girls were like mythological creations 
to him 
His mother abandoned him as a baby 
He was raised by his father and some relatives 
All the experiences he had ever had with women 
were woeful! 
His father's younger sister who raised
him from the moment his mother abandoned 
him was very abusive 
She made him do tons of work without 
caring for his welfare 
She would make him sing songs calling 
his mother a witch and a prostitute before 
giving him food to eat
His father came to his rescue when he 
was thirteen years old 
He had remarried 
His stepmother was pregnant 
His father had told his stepmother about 
him before they got married 
His stepmother encouraged his father 
to bring him to the city 
It was from the frying pan to the fire
He became the official houseboy of his 
stepmother 
It was as if he wasn't in his father's house 
Whenever he summoned the courage to 
tell his father about his ordeal 
His father would turn a deaf ear or say 
"If i take her side against you 
She will kill you or send you packing...
I don't want to lose my son 
I don't want to lose my wife too 
It is her home 
Let her keep it the way she sees fit 
You will grow and leave this house one day! 
She will see the reward of her handiwork 
For now, just bear it!" 
He didn't know why his father was so 
powerless to help!
He suffered until he gained admission 
into the university 
By this time, the fear of any human with a 
pair of breasts had solidified in him 
He wasn't nervous around ladies 
He didn't hate them 
He had a strong fear of women 
The fear was so strong that he rarely 
opens his mouth to
talk to a lady! 
When he was in the final year 
His roommates decided to play a prank on him 
They invited a prostitute to the room while 
he was asleep, made her lie down beside 
him and touch him all over 
When he woke up and saw the prostitute 
all over him 
He screamed and fainted
He had to be rushed to the hospital before 
he was resuscitated 
He was convinced at that point that he had 
a serious medical problem 
He was referred to a psychiatrist 
He was diagnosed of Gynophobia or gynephobia, 
an abnormal fear of women, a type of specific 
social phobia.
He was given some drugs and advised to take 
psychotherapy! 
The doctor referred him to a psychiatrist 
who was willing to help him for free 
The psychiatrist was a woman! 
He never made it to a one on one session 
He tried! but He couldn't! 
They only spoke on the phone once or twice
He graduated 
He got a good job 
He clocked thirty, thirty-five, forty 
Many people asked him when he would 
get married 
Several ladies tried to get to him 
But he just couldn't do it! 
He hated his life 
He wanted a family, wanted to be human 
He tried dating online 
He really tried
But nothing worked! 
He had dreams of having his own family
Doing better than his father did 
But he was sick and couldn't be helped 
He reached out to the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt 
"Sir, this is my problem! 
I desire to get married and have a home 
Can the Holy Spirit help me?"
He met with the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt 
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt told him every 
fear and phobia is rooted in the power and 
influence of darkness! 
The name of Jesus delivers all believers 
from the power of darkness! 
Will you accept Jesus Christ as Lord 
and Saviour?
He eagerly said Yes! 
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt led 
him to Christ 
He made his confessions 
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt laid hands-on 
him and filled him with the Holy Spirit 
He started praying in the Holy Ghost 
Within minutes, he was rolling on the floor, 
screaming!!!
It took about thirty minutes 
He rose to his feet a new man 
His face was bright and shinning 
He could see the world in colours again 
Something had changed! 
What radiance! 
He left with a heart full of joy 
Three months later the brother in Jeans 
and T-shirt got a phone call!
The call was from a pastor 
The pastor said "Do you know so and so" 
The Brother in jeans and T-shirt said 
"Yes, he is my brother" 
The pastor said "My daughter is 34 years old, 
a bank manager with XYZ bank! 
She was well brought up and holy 
Your brother impregnated my daughter"
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt started laughing 
The kinda laughter that makes you cough and cry 
A forty-year-old impregnating a 34-year-old 
is not a disaster 
Why was the pastor (Bride's father) angry 
The pastor felt insulted by the laughter 
It wasn't funny 
An apology was tendered!
