They met during the auditioning 
Someone wrote a play
The someone wanted to stage the 
play on campus 
Announcements were made 
He was interested in acting as a hobby 
He registered for the auditioning immediately 
He had been in the teens' church drama 
team and was quite good
The auditioning took hours 
He was eventually cast as a minor 
character in the stage play 
He was to act as the father of the 
beautiful maiden who was the central 
character in the play 
He had never met her before then 
It was the play that brought them together 
He fell in love
The weeks of practice before 
the drama was eventually 
staged gave him the room 
to observe her closely 
Apart from her mesmerizing 
beauty 
She was talented and interpreted 
the role very well 
Her delivery was also top-notch 
They staged the play 
It was a success 
He started wooing her
After weeks of playing Tom and Jerry 
She eventually agreed to go out with him 
They were a good fit 
She was studying Mass Communication 
He was studying Sound Engineering 
They were in the final year 
The relationship grew naturally 
They graduated and served 
She was posted to Kaduna
He was posted to Lagos 
He visited her every other 
month in Kaduna 
They were in love 
She was his soulmate 
Their friends and relatives saw it 
Many envied them 
Their love was not ordinary 
They fitted well into each other 
They were both believers 
They were both from the 
same town
Her parents loved him 
His parents took her as a daughter 
They finished serving 
He got a job immediately with a 
record label 
He also got a lot of jobs 
from churches and other 
organizations that needed 
his expertise 
He was good and was in 
demand all over the country! 
He proposed!
There was no reason to say no to him 
He loved her 
He had a job 
She had also secured a job 
with a television station! 
He was building his own studio 
in a corner of his Father's property in the city 
His plan was to have his own studio 
where jingles and voice-over jobs 
would be done
He was industrious, focused and talented 
The future looked very bright 
She said yes! 
She loved him with all her heart 
He was her heart desire 
The engagement was formalized a 
few weeks later 
Their parents met and a proper 
introduction was done 
A wedding date was fixed 
Bells rang
He went for a job in Akwa Ibom 
Few kilometers away from Uyo, 
he had a motor accident 
and died on the spot 
Those who rushed to assist at 
the scene of the accident saw 
her phone number on his dial 
list 
They told her about the accident 
and his death! 
Wow! 
What would her fate be?
She had invested her savings 
with him 
They put the money on the studio project 
He had ordered equipment from abroad 
She was about to lose everything!
She knew he had some money 
with him 
It was a deposit made by a bank 
The bank gave him a contract to build 
an internet radio studio
for them! 
She swung into action 
Packed the money and other valuables 
After she has secured them safely, 
she broke the news of the accident to 
his parents 
His father said "No" 
Death cannot take his son 
His father was a man of God! 
His father went to Uyo early the 
next morning
When his father got to Uyo 
he discovered his son was 
not dead! 
The people that called her had 
assumed the worst at the 
scene of the accident 
But he was only in a coma 
and had been resuscitated 
by the medical team in the 
hospital 
His father told his mother 
the good news 
Wow!
Superstitiously, his father told 
his mother not to tell anybody 
he was alive until they were
 very sure he was out of the 
woods 
His mother kept mum 
She, on the other hand, didn't 
know the developments 
She returned to his flat and 
started packing stuff 
The fridge, freezer, television
She had some of her money in 
those things 
They had been steadily building their 
nest together and 
she didn't want to lose out! 
What if his family members 
shared everything and she ended up 
empty-handed? 
She wanted to protect her own interest 
Who would blame her for being smart?
He was discharged weeks later 
He had gone through two surgeries for 
internal bleeding and somehow made it! 
When he got to his flat, 
he found it empty 
His babe, his love, had barely allowed 
him to die before 
stripping him naked! 
It was the ultimate betrayal 
How sour can love turn
By the time she knew he yet 
lived 
It was too late 
The relationship had taken his place 
in the grave! 
She made some attempts 
She even returned the money meant 
for the contract 
But he just couldn't look her 
in the face 
She had to move on! 
One year later he married 
another woman!
She said he married the 
woman to spite her 
Love should be able to forgive anything 
Why should he be offended 
that she protected her own 
interest when he was no 
longer in the picture? 
He said "I realized God used 
the accident to expose who 
she really was to me!
