The Cloud

He just left! There was no fight, no quarrel, no disagreement, no strife He woke up one morning and walked away! He was a clearing agent and sometimes had to deliver goods to other states He told her he would be going to the east A man living abroad had sent a car to his wife The man sent him the documents and the fee He had cleared the car and would be travelling to the east to deliver it She made him breakfast He usually didn’t joke with his breakfast But that morning… He sat at the dining table and watched her as she set the table He kept looking at her oddly They had slept on the same bed all night He came in late and promptly slept off She was a bit out of sorts that morning She woke up, brushed her teeth, and washed the essentials before proceeding to the kitchen Of course the night gown could have had something to do with his mood She was naked underneath it But she wore a wrapper on top of it to keep herself firm He pulled her onto his lap right there She didn’t know how to react She knew he had to set out early But that mood was not to be joked with He would be angry if she rejected his overtures She didn’t want him to leave home angry Though, she was not a morning person when it comes to sex He teased her all over The wrapper saw the intention and found its way to the couch The nightgown also respected itself The only item of his clothing she removed was his belt Everything happened like it always did in such moments Some things shifted, some things fled and Moses got to the mountain She didn’t know where the strength came from She had reluctantly prayed for a quickie Something to send him on his way with a smile But somehow nature prevailed She rode, she straddled, she knelt, she bent, she laid, she stood It was as if she was 19 again and surveying all the wonders her body can work with a guy It lasted one whole hour The fore play, main play and after play For the first time she didn’t remember to pray afterwards They had been married for seven years without a child It had bothered her greatly She would usually pray after they make love “Father, please let his seed find life in my garden” But not that day He had pressed her reset button She could barely gather herself! Some minutes later, he showered and left He locked the door on his way out She laid there until Hypnos caught up with her She didn’t wake up until 1pm Her shift was to start at 2pm She dressed up and left for work When she got to the hospital, she was immediately summoned by the matron The matron told her they had a bit of an emergency One of the nurses had resigned without giving the hospital any notice All the other nurses would have to put in an extra-hour or two They have so many patients to attend to and they were short of hands She asked the matron which of the nurses resigned The matron told her She was shocked! The nurse that resigned was her friend Her best friend Though they met on the job but they had been like sisters She picked her phone and called her friend’s number It was switched off She was a bit worried but after saying a prayer for her friend she got back to work She got home early the next morning and slept off immediately When she woke up, she realized she had not heard from her husband since the previous day She called his number, it was switched off It was so unlike him not to call She kept dialing his number but the network provider kept saying the number was switched off She started calling his relatives Have you heard from my husband? Nobody heard anything! It was as if he had fallen off the face of the earth She went to the police station to report The officers on duty said they would radio central command and find out if anything had happened She listened to the news Was there an accident? Two months later, after fasting, praying, calling, crying and worrying herself to death She saw him on Facebook, with her best friend They had traveled to Canada Her best friend wrote “He kept his promise! I got pregnant and he brought me to Canada” on her status She sat there shocked to the marrow! Her own husband! Her own best friend! She picked her phone and called her best friend’s mother She said: This had better be a joke! If it is not, tell your daughter I said anybody who builds a boat of joy to take a ride on the river of tears of another is riding to his or her destruction! Her best friend’s mother said she knew nothing about it! She sent her husband’s relatives the Facebook link on WhatsApp! “I have found your son, thank you” She was angry, but what can she do? She ran to church She met the brother in Jeans and T-Shirt and some other brothers, they were going for evangelism She told him she had found her husband (He and the whole church had also been praying and trusting God for him to be found) She told him everything. The brother in Jeans and T-Shirt was shocked The lady’s husband was a Christian. A very hardworking man. What game was the devil trying to play around him? As the lady was speaking, he was searching the spirit with his inner ear “What is going on here Father, please give me a word for this woman, please don’t let her return broken and unhappy as she came” He heard nothing The sister was in tears by now “What do you tell a woman who had been sorely betrayed by her husband and her best friend in this manner?” He searched for a relevant scripture in his head The story of Ruth? David and Absalom? Jesus and Judas? He opened his mouth and said “Congratulations my sister, you are two months pregnant!” He was as stupefied and she was She looked at him as if he was drunk "All these spiritual brothers can overplay their hands sometimes!" How can she be pregnant without her husband and she had been seeing her monthly flow too, she is a nurse and she had been on the lookout for a sign of pregnancy for years!" She could barely mask her disbelief She started laughing She knew her case was pathetic She would be at least ten years older than the brother in Jeans and T-Shirt It was condition that bent her crayfish She couldn’t believe the ridiculousness of the whole situation The brother neither had the life experience or marital experience to offer her any succor She needed somebody to talk to The pastor was not available And the brother had a good set of ears She picked her bag and started leaving The brother in Jeans and T-shirt said: A strange wind will bring your husband home, when he arrives you must welcome him with joy and gladness. In fact, the Holy Spirit asked me to tell you to forgive your husband and your friend right now She: I don’t understand The brother in Jeans and T-Shirt: Call your husband’s name and your best friend’s name and say “I forgive you” She shrugged. What does it matter? She: So and so and such and such I forgive you from the bottom of my heart. I hold nothing against you. The brother in Jeans and T-shirt prayed with her and told her to go That night she had a dream that she was carrying a baby boy The following day, when she got to the hospital, she drew her own blood and sent it in for pregnancy test Before the end of her shift The result came! She was indeed pregnant! She fell on her knees and cried! Two weeks later, her husband’s father fell deathly ill. He was a rich man with a lot of properties. He insisted if her husband didn’t come home to see him before he died, he would cut him out of his will Her husband returned home immediately with her friend Immediately they landed at the airport, her friend had a miscarriage Perhaps it was the stress of the journey, perhaps it was an attack of the devil Nobody knew Her friend was taken to the hospital immediately He couldn’t stay with her because he had to catch a local flight to the east to see his father He got home and was immediately taken to his father His father had recovered and was giving all his children their inheritances in his lifetime His father didn’t say a word to him Since he eloped with his wife’s best friend, his father had not said a word to him (It was only his mother who kept the channel of communication open among his family members) His father just handed him an envelope The details of his inheritance in cash and kind were clearly stated but his father had played a fast one on him Everything goes to his wife if he insisted on a divorce but as long as they were married everything belonged to his family! It was a wicked twist He spoke with his mother, "why is daddy doing this?" His mother told him he had to take his father’s decision or leave it! He decided he would have to reason with his abandoned wife, perhaps they could cut a deal. He would settle her generously! He caught the evening flight back to the west Went directly to the hospital His wife's best friend had discharged herself He called her number over and over She refused to pick his call He slept in a hotel The next morning, he called the church pastor, “Sir, can I come and see you?” The pastor made time They met He told the pastor his story The pastor listened The pastor told him his wife was pregnant, alone and in sorrow He couldn’t believe it They had done IVF twice The doctor told them his wife can never have a child He discussed the issue of surrogacy with her but she would have none of it He had always wanted a family and he took the bold step to get one without her For how long must he wait? The news made his heart sing His wife was pregnant? For who? He had to see her! He went to the hospital, she was not there He went to his apartment The door was locked He let himself in There she was, asleep on the couch, jazz music softly playing from the stereo He had missed her She woke up and smiled “I was just having a pleasant dream about you” she said He knelt down beside her The tears came willingly, it was all too heavy, too much She embraced him “I forgive you, I love you. Please stop crying” All the things he had planned to say dissolved, no word would have been right! "I am home, my love, you are my home" The words came out of nowhere But they were true! He didn't know how but he had forgotten why he left or why he came back! The storm was over! Ps: This event happened in Ketu/Magodo area of Lagos state, Nigeria (2010) The couple now have two children Her best friend is also married with a child They have never met or spoken to each other since the incident Is your marriage going through the eye of a storm at the moment? Turn to Jesus, forgive and heal. Are you a strange woman waging war against another woman by taking her husband? Repent now! Are you a husband who has a taste for stolen water? The repercussions are always dire but if you repent now, Jesus is merciful and faithful I pray for those whose marriages have been torn apart for one reason or the other! The cloud of life I spoke into being is going around the world bearing healing rain of restoration and recovery. I command your home to be restored within six weeks! Regardless of the complications, complexities and human difficulties that might be involved in your matter! Thank you, Holy Spirit, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Father! for this reality has manifested. I welcome the testimonies in Jesus name. Amen
