The Goodness of God
The goodness of God is all around us, all within us
It's like the early morning dew sauntering on the petal of a wild rose
You say, "what has He done for me", forgetting how far He has brought you
It's like a child fully enticed by the back-and-forth flicker of the fire on a candle
It's beautiful, yet it burns
So is a hard and unthankful heart.
The goodness of God, just like the bright moon shining in the darkest of the cold winter
For it holds our attention longingly and reinforcing the hope of a beautiful warm summer to come
You say "His goodness has brought me nothing"
You forget that a heart full of complaints can be caught in the durable web of stagnancy.
The goodness of God, like glowworms in caves illuminating the dark environment
A wonderment to the eyes of the mortal
Like a thousand stars twinkling in synchronization while the howling of the wind of the night causes the trees to dance to the percussion of the nocturnal faunas
You say, "dancing isn't my thing"
You forget that the aura of pride is faster than lightning...or the Internet.
The goodness of God, which He manifested in Christ Jesus
For God has given us life, and the life is in his Son, Jesus
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and his mercy endures forever
Immerse yourself in the splendor of His goodness and majesty.
It's a new year, a great time to start with Jesus
Invite Him today.
