Carrying the Wind

In his experience the single mothers or
the recently divorced women were the
easiest to sleep with
They want a man to love them and at the
same time love their burdens
They understand that many men will not
willingly do this, so they will do anything
to keep the attention of anyone who
bothered to look their way
Especially at that time of the month
when the body is on overdrive,
a single act of kindness can open the
floodgates for an opportunist like
him
He discovered he had this thing for many
women
It is not love because he wanted to be as
far away from them as possible after he
was done having sex with them
Perhaps it is a psychological thing
perhaps it is just the wickedness in him
expressing itself but getting in between 
those legs gave him a thrill, a rush that
he didn't feel with his wife
Yes, he was married
He was also a counselor of sorts
This was what brought the women to
him
He listened, paid attention, told his own
sob story (His wife was a good woman 
but it was quite easy to magnify her
faults or project a picture of being
unsatisfied with his lot)
The women see an opening
He made sure they see it not only
in his words but his actions
He always did one woman at a time
He would tell her his therapy process
They would go to lunch, go for a walk,
go for a time out at the beach, spend
another day at the cinemas and 
then go for a wild night
He promised them he would help them
adjust to their new reality
Get over their "broken past" and ride
the golden pony of self-belief into
the future
In a way, he was of help to the ladies
Many of them got the psychological
and emotional break they needed from
their former spouses after meeting 
with him
He helped them to extinguish the light
of false hope
He made them see things as they are
He supported them by getting them 
a job, accommodation, some financial
respite before they can stand on their
own and all that
He really did his best to help them
The only benefit he gets from it was
the sex
He believed the sex does not only
benefit him
Psychologically it goes a long way
in setting the ladies free to explore
their sexual freedom with other men
instead of holding on to hope that 
their ex-husband will return to them
Some women get back in the sack
easily while others needed a bit of
encouragement
He believed himself to be the bridge
It had always been his thing since
he was in the university
Girls with broken heart gravitate to
him for support
Most of them just needed someone
stable to be with while they nurse
their hearts back to good health
He provided the ear and the support
And yes, he slept with many of them
just because they desperately
needed it
He was a means to an end
He never promised them anything
more than an immediate support
and most of them are grateful for
his help
Some even return to him several years
later to give him some money and
thank him for being the light that
shined for them while they were in
darkness
That was his thing
He was the buffer guy
It was the name he gave it
He stopped for a while after he got
married
He promised himself he had paid his 
due and needed to pay attention to
the needs of his wife
He tried for three years
Somehow he met an old friend
A lady with whom he grew up in the
same neighbourhood who was going
through hell in her marriage
She came to him out of the blue
She said she needed someone to
talk to 
She was married to this guy who
was twelve years older than her
straight out of the university
She was a lawyer but she was 
working with a bank
Her husband was an unknown 
quantity
One of those guys who traveled
to the UK in their twenties only
to return in their 40s with nothing
to show for it but some fancy clothes
and a lot of lies
She was twenty-three and had not
even seen life yet
He remembered watching the two
of them dance at her wedding reception
and wondering what the guy used on her
he had seen so many broken hearts
and knew it would end in disaster
Nobody else saw it
When he asked what he did for a living
all he heard was "He just returned from
the UK"
He didn't know how that was categorized
as a job
Within three years, the marriage was
over
Sentimental considerations brought
her to him
She wanted to be sure she was
not making a mistake by walking 
away from the marriage
Her husband had low sperm count
and despite the warning of the 
doctors that he abstained from
alcohol, he couldn't help himself
He drank heavily despite the fact
that he doesn't have a job
She worked to pay the rent and
put food on the table
He was practically a leech
According to her, she just woke
up one day and found herself 
married to him
She couldn't really remember
how they met or when he proposed
She claimed he did something 
diabolical to marry her and showed
him the evidence of other diabolical
things her husband was into
He took her through the process
and at a point, they started having
sex
His wife caught them and raised hell
It was a terrible time
He hadn't put his wife and her reaction
into consideration
He tried to explain what was going
on to his wife but she didn't get it
She felt he was now with another
woman
At a point, he stopped trying to
explain
Everything sounded ridiculous 
even to him but he didn't stop, he
only became more careful
The society was churning out fresh
divorcees and single mothers by
the drove
He couldn't just walk away
His wife caught him again
This time his wife reported to their
church pastor
It became an issue
He was a very popular figure in the 
church
He couldn't even explain his indiscretion
He got suspended from all church duties
after facing a private panel of inquiry
He was told to use the time to rebuild
his relationship with his wife and God
He knew what it looked like and 
promised himself that he would do 
better
He kept that promise until 2015
He was at work when a colleague asked
to see him
The colleague told him about a friend
who was in serious need
The friend's husband had thrown her
out of the marriage because she went
for a job interview without his consent
The husband was the kind of guy who
believed every woman is a cheat and
should be kept under lock and key
after marriage
The wife on the other hand was raised
by hardworking parents and was
determined not to sit idle
She said her husband would call her
names and ask her what she was
contributing economically to the 
home while at the same time forbidding
her to work because working was an
excuse for women to sleep around
The job she took was with their local
church
She saw an opening in the bookshop
and decided to take it
She was a chartered accountant by
qualification and the job was way
beneath her capability
She felt she could ease her husband's
fear by taking up such a lowly job
She needed to get out of the house
and live her life
Her husband didn't bother to listen
to any explanation
He threw out all her things the next
morning
When he heard the story, he decided
to help but this time without getting
unduly close to her
He made arrangements for the lady
to stay in one of his company's
lodgings until she could gather enough
money to rent a place
The friend was told to pick one of the
drivers and make the arrangements
Three days later, the friend and this
lady came back to his office to say
Thank you
The lady resumed at the book shop
pending when the issue between 
herself and her husband will be resolved
by the family
She had boldly stated her terms for
reconsidering the marriage
She wanted her freedom to earn a 
living
Her husband said no and moved out
of their apartment
Within a month, he was out of the
country
It was a crushing blow for her
She really didn't expect the marriage
to pack up just like that
He really felt for her
Not all men can be Django in love
He wished he could do more for her
Make the sun shine for her again
Perhaps she saw that he really cared
Perhaps he just didn't know how to
erect boundaries as his wife had so
often accused him
Something happened
Was it emphathy or foolishness
While she was still hurting and 
vulnerable he decided to do the buffer
thing again and she got pregnant
It was the most unfortunate wonder
he had ever seen in his life
He had been married for eight years
and he didn't have a child yet
He and his wife had spent so much
on all forms of treatment
He had even come to accept that they
might not have a child because the
doctors told them it would only take
a miracle for both of them to have
children
His wife had an untreated infection as
a child which had practically robbed
her of the ability to conceive while
his sperm had no cells
It was an unfortunate good news
He waited a while before breaking the
news to his wife
His wife didn't say a word
By the next morning she had packed 
all her things and left
Hours after she left he received bank
alerts of massive withdrawals from
their joint account
His wife had taken her share of their
savings
He didn't know whether to be happy
or sad
He cried and laughed at the same time
He loved his wife with all his heart
Nine months later the lady deliver a
set of twins
Every test proved the children to be
his own (She insisted on the tests
because of the things people said
throughout the pregnancy about the
convenient timing of her pregnancy)
He didn't know what to do at first
as regarding marriage
The children remained with their
mother while he tried to sort himself
out
After six months and several 
consultationshe decided to marry 
the mother of his children
It was not for love but for convenience
He didn't want her to raise the children
without him and he believed he owed
more to God in bringing up the 
children right than trying to win an 
award for public opinion
They got married in March 2016
His wife got diagnosed with Vaginal
cancer
It came out of nowhere, like a storm
He flew her abroad immediately for
medical treatment
Their children were only fifteen months
old
He had never seen anything like it
After eight months in Germany, she
was returned home
The doctors said it was discovered
too late
She had to make her peace with the
world and prepare herself for death
He didn't know what to do
Prophecies and messages were
flying everywhere
Some people said his ex-wife laid a
curse on the husband snatcher
Some people said it was her ex-husband
that decided to teach her a lesson
it was so easy to be swayed by the
crowd
He wondered why he was not attacked
Why her?
He was forty-two years old and had made
money quite early in life
He was the serial cheat and covenant
breaker
He was the one whose money and
mindset provided the opportunity to
cheat on his wife and take advantage
of vulnerable women
If anybody ought to die for their sin
it was him
If there was any fairness or any sense
of justice, a thirty-year-old mother
should be allowed to live in good health
and nurse her children
He went to many places, mostly at the
plea of his mother and some of her
friends who felt he could save her
life by going spiritual
Eventually, he stumbled upon the 
advert for Night of Glory tagged Perez!
By this time his wife had a few more
weeks to live according to the
doctors
He met with the Brother in Jeans and
T-shirt and told him his story
He said "Can you come and lay hands
on my wife and heal her?
I really want you to sir!
I believe..."
(He was prepared to pay whatever
it would cost in terms of transportation
and so on)
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt
joined hands with him to pray
Just then this fresh breeze started
blowing
They were inside a church
The Air conditioners were on
Ther windows and doors were shut
It was right after the vigil and 
there were other people waiting
to be attended to
And yet this breeze came and they
both felt it grow stronger and stronger 
until it lifted the brother and threw 
him into the chairs.
The ushers carried him up
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt
told him the same wind was in his
house
It had swallowed the storm and
his wife would live
He shouted Amen and began to
speak in tongues (For the first time.
He was a member of a popular 
evangelical church in the north and
members rarely speak in tongues)
He left the church at about 5 pm
The Uber he took drove him straight
to the Hotel
His flight out of Lagos was at 2 pm
He slept till 12noon
His driver was waiting at the airport
when he arrived
As soon as they drove into his house
he saw his wife
Lying down in the garden
His heart sank
That was where she had always insisted
on being laid down in the afternoons
She had always been a nature buff
He had expected that by the time he
got home she would be running and
leaping and praising God
He walked up to her to say hello
What could have gone wrong?
Why wasn't she healed that same hour 
like it was written in the Bible
He got to her and touched her head
She started shaking violently and
screaming on top of her voice
Suddenly he felt that wind again
stirring in his body, he started speaking
in tongues again as his body vibrated
continuously
He joined his hands with her hands as 
he prayed on and on
She writhed and screamed and struggled
violently
It lasted for as long as twenty minutes
Then she suddenly went still and cold
as if she was dead
Wow!
He held her hand still until a warm
sensation started spreading from his
hand to hers and suddenly they were
both engulfed in a warmth he couldn't
explain
When he was sure she was breathing
and was alive
He released her hands and went
into the house to thank God, shower 
and have some lunch
Within a week, she was back to her
feet
It was the greatest comeback ever
What amazed him the most was the
fact that there was no explanation
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt did
not try to explain to him who was 
behind the affliction and all
He didn't have to face any enemy
or hate anybody
He simply joined hands with him and
prayed in tongues
It was the most extraordinary 
experience he ever had
It reiterated in Him the words of Apostle
Paul that the Kingdom of God is not
in words but in power!
Glory be to God!

PS: This testimony was written in
January 2019, a year after his wife
was diagnosed
She was still recovering at the time
but she was still bleeding or spotting
as she usually called it
She was back on her feet and the
sentence of death had been totally
lifted but The brother in Jeans and
T-shirt didn't feel he ought to share
the testimony yet
He told them to wait until she was
fully recovered
The next thing he heard, she was
pregnant again
This was in July 2019
So the testimony had to wait until
Gbenga Samuel-Wemimo Osayemen
was born
He was a big baby (A giant)
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt felt
it wasn't proper to announce his
birth because of the name
He blessed the baby and his parents
Today, GSWO's parents sent a note
saying "We feel indebted to God. 
We made a vow to share this 
testimony on gbengawemimo.com"

Dear Believer,
If you have this habit of targeting
vulnerable ladies and sleeping with
them, please stop it
It is a sign of carnality and it leads to
all sorts of consequences that are
not supposed to be associated with
a child of God.
Anyone who lives a sexually perverse
or immoral life is opening himself or
herself up to a lot of emotional, 
psychological and spiritual breach!
Let He that is joined to the Lord
depart from iniquity.

GSW's note: It took a lot of prayers and 
persuasion but I have decided to honour 
God in the life of my brother and sister
by sharing this testimony.
One of the reasons I do not share certain 
testimonies was to keep scoffers and 
mockers out of trouble
When Jesus healed a man and his detractors
said he did it by an evil spirit, he was quick
to warn them that it is wrong to attribute
the work of the Holy Spirit to Beelzebub!
I have seen people who mocked a miracle
and got struck by an angel for it
I am praying that as you read this testimony
you will get blessed and grow by it
I am trusting the Holy Spirit that you will
be able to walk in the power of the Holy
Spirit in dimensions greater and higher
than had ever been seen in the realm of
the living
Through you and in you, the mighty power
of God shall be made tangible and real
in the name of Jesus
