The Fallout

She had always known her best friend
to be diabolical
Her best friend was the type that would
run home after having a bad dream 
screaming her body was giving her a
message or she was seeing a sign only
to return from home with news of how
her mother took her to one prophet,
cleric or herbalist to do some things
to ward off impending doom or protect
her from some strange demons
She had never seen anything wrong with
her best friend's lifestyle
People do what they know
It was obvious from their conversation
that her best friend's mother was the
sort of woman who frequented all sorts
of places regularly seeking protection
from imagined and unreal enemies
Her best friend told her how her father
was posted to Ondo State from work
when she was about to write her 
common entrance examination
Her best friend's father was working
with the Federal Government college
as a bursar at the time
According to her best friend, her father
insisted that her mother and the children
stay behind in Ibadan while he traveled
to Ondo alone for a few months
She said her father used her common 
entrance examination as an excuse
Two months later, her best friend's
mother had a dream
In the dream, she saw two she-goats
fighting over a he-goat
She ran to her spiritualists the next
day and was told her husband was
involved with another woman in Ondo
state
The spiritualist also told her the woman
was very powerful and was planning to
take over the home by driving her mother
insane
Her best friend said the spiritualist gave
her mother a substance to bathe with for
seven days before paying her father a
surprise visit at his post
Her best friend said her mother did 
everything she was told before traveling
to Ondo
When she got to Ondo, she didn't meet
any woman with her husband
She tried to search for signs of another
woman but as much as she tried, she
didn't find any
After a week with her husband, she 
decided to visit the hairdressing salon
in the area to make her hair 
Unknown to her mother, the lady who
owned the hairdressing outfit was the
same lady, her father was involved with
Her mother made her hair and left
Three days later, the hairdresser went
mad
It was discovered in the course of 
investigation that the hairdresser took
some hair from her mother's head with
the intention of casting a spell of 
madness on her mother, not knowing
her mother had been fortified
The spell boomeranged and her mother
not only got her home back but also
put the fear of God in her father's
heart!
According to her best friend, her father
never cheated again
Her best friend told her such stories
to convince her not to sit idly while
other people go about fortifying 
themselves and gaining spiritual
advantage over others
She listened to her friend and even
got entertained by such stories but
she was raised in a Christian home 
and found such fetish engagements 
unsettling.
She met her best friend during their
NYSC in Lagos
They both needed an apartment and
decided to rent one together
That was how they became friends
Her best friend's family lives in Ibadan
Her own Family lives in Abeokuta
After their NYSC she got a job as a
supervisor in a supermarket
Her best friend got a job at an eatery
They were both hardworking
Her mother came to Lagos twice
a year to check up on her
She was twenty-six years old and
had used the excuse of the NYSC to
move out of the house and stayed
in Lagos
She felt she had a better prospect
of getting a job and advancing her
career in Lagos rather than return
to Abeokuta to live with her parents
Her mother protested at first but
after a lot of plea and her father's
intervention, her mother relented
In 2014, her father clocked 50 and
they decided to have a party
She invited her best friend home
They had been living together for
three years and had grown quite
close
The party was to hold on a Saturday
They arrived in Abeokuta on friday
so as to help out with all the 
preparations
Sometime around 7pm, after they
returned from the grinding mill
where they went to grind the beans
that would be used for moin-moin,
she suddenly couldn't find her
best friend
There were a lot of people in the
house that evening
Relatives arriving and a lot of friends
Her father was working with the 
civil service and had worked in 
many departments
He was a step away from being
promoted to the position of the
permanent secretary, so a lot
of people came around for the
party
Her parents had booked a guest
house in advance
The guest house had seventy rooms
and her older brothers were in charge
of driving guests and relatives from
the house to the guest house and
ensuring they were well checked in
and taken care of by the hotel staff
When it was around 8:30pm, some of
her other friends arrived from Niger
state
She had attended the federal government
college in New Busa and was a very
active member of the old student's 
association
Her brothers were very busy and she 
really wanted to pay attention to the
details regarding her old friend's welfare
so she drove them to the guest house
in her mother's car
She got the keys and was leading
her friends to their rooms when she
saw her father and her best friend
emerge from the Presidential Suite
Her father had told her mother he had
to dash to the commissioner's house
for a meeting at about 6:00 PM
This was right before she and her friend
went to grind the beans
She saw them with her two eyes and
they saw her
She also knew what has happened
but she kept a cool head and looked
the other way
Her father was not a saint, she knew
he was a philanderer
She didn't know her best friend was
into such things but it would be unwise
to upset her mother unnecessarily!
Throughout the party, she kept away
from her best friend
She stayed with her old friends and 
ensured they were very well taken
care of
Her best friend did what good friends
do
She served and assisted in making the
party a success
After the party, they returned to Lagos
She didn't discuss what she saw with
her friend
Her friend tried to bring it up but she
persistently shut down the conversation
Five months later, she rented her
own apartment and moved out
She had lost interest in their friendship
from the moment she saw what she saw
and would have moved out earlier if
she had enough money
As far as she was concerned, she had 
overlooked the obvious for far too long
They were not supposed to be friends
They had very different values and
she had tolerated too many things
In 2017, her older brother returned
home after completing his Ph.D in
Germany
Three months after returning home, 
he announced that he wanted to
bring home his wife to be
Her parents insisted all the children 
must be home for the occasion
Her brother brought home her best
friend
He said they met on the social media
and had been going out for about
two years
Everybody was smiling
She stood up and told them it will
never happen
Her mother asked her why
She told everybody the truth
Her father was seated right beside
her mother when she said it
She simply boiled over
before she knew her she had spilled
the beans and ruined everybody's day
Her father almost collapsed
Her mother almost jumped out of
her skin
Her brother was shaken and her best
friend practically ran out of the house
in shame
She felt both good and guilty at the
same time
It was a terrible day
Her brother thanked her, he said he
was grateful she didn't keep quiet
out of being polite
Her younger ones also got it
Her father called a meeting that 
night and apologized to everybody
He said he realized he had been a
bad example and wanted the family
to be strong through the storm
Her mother was angry with her for
keeping quiet until things got that
complicated
Her mother said if she had spoken
up earlier, her brother wouldn't have
gone close to her not to talk of dating
her
Her mother was concerned that her
brother could have slept with her
To her mother, it is a terrible thing for
a father and a son to sleep with the
same woman
Her mother said it usually attracted
a negative omen
She apologized and told her mother
to forget about the omen, if anything
it is the girl that should be worried
She returned to Lagos the second 
day at around 4 pm
Her phone rang, she picked it
She heard her "best friend's" voice
"You are the one that cannot keep
quiet, you are the one that must
say the things you see in order to
ruin others.
Did I offend you in every way?
How can you destroy my day of joy
so heartlessly?
She should have cut the phone
at that moment but she was really
enjoying the call
Her best friend was deluded
It is very common with evil when it
has been left to its devices
It loses track of right and wrong
Her best friend didn't see how wrong
it was for her to sleep with the father
and marry the son
She was still claiming victim
Suddenly she heard a change of tone
her best friend was reading an incantation
and cursing her
"You will never find a home, you will
never have a home, men shall see you
and run, you will never attract a partner,
you will never find love and so on"
She didn't know why what she heard
bothered her so much
She had a very restless night
In the morning, she blocked her best
friend on every social media platform
She also blocked her phone numbers
She forgot all about the incidence
In January 2019, while she was traveling 
to the east for an occasion, she met a 
prophet, who told her somebody had 
cast a spell on her and the spell was 
preventing her from getting a husband
The prophet talk her the spell had 
washed her home away in a sea of 
bitterness
The prophet told her there was no
solution unless the person who 
cursed her forgave her and reversed
what had been done
When she got back to Lagos she wrote
to the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
She narrated the story and asked
if it was possible for the Holy Spirit
to help her without making her beg
and growl unjustly
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt told
her about a wind
There was a particular wind described
by King Solomon
A wind of love and marital settlement
Those who have the Holy Spirit in
them have the ability to command
the elements of this world
Angels and ministering spirits are at
the beck and call of the saints
He showed her the scripture and
taught her how to put it to work
A spell creates a storm that obscures
and frustrates one's life journey
(If he or she is not born again)
but the wind of the Holy Spirit
would tear apart any storm
There is no force of the supernatural
as powerful as the WIND
Jesus said believers are like the
wind
Unpredictable, dynamic and bursting
forth, with light and love
A week after she came to herself
and shed the cocoon of lies and
false appearances by the power of the
Holy Spirit
She met her husband
He was an engineer with a solar Energy
and Inverter sales and Installation
outfit
They were married seven months later

PS: Aderonke delivered a baby boy, 
in the early hours of today (2 AM)
Her testimony was complete and 
her story bumped the one I was
writing earlier due to its immediacy.

GSW's notes: I once received a 
phone call from an occultic person
while i was an undergraduate
I was seating in Brother's hall,
reading my book and minding my
business when the phone call 
came in
The person started saying some
heavy incantations in Yoruba 
language, he said i should stand up
where i was and start walking to
Him immediately
he told me i must never stop or rest
until i get to Ijebu Awa
I heard him, the hair on my body
stood 
It was an eerie feeling and yes, it
was hypnotic
But i am full of the Holy Ghost
I shook off that beast into the fire
like Apostle Paul
I said "No, shut up, who do you
think you are talking to! I belong to
the King of heaven, i am full of the
Holy Spirit! I command you to leave
where you are and look for me
Until you find me you will have no
rest
Until you locate me you will never
have peace or rest again in Jesus
name."
I recovered and started laughing
afterward
I felt it very relieved and unusually
happy and forgot about the incident
Five years later, i was at my office
in Magodo when the security men
ushered in a man
He was frail and had darting eyes
He told me his story
I realized that day that the words
of a Christian is not a joke
I was an undergraduate when i
made the pronouncement, I was
just growing in the things of the
spirit and yet this occultic man
was troubled and tormented for
many years until he got to me
He had the old phone number
I was using then written in a piece
of paper
He said somebody gave him the
number and the name for spiritual
work
What was given to him to afflict me
turned around to torment him
I was sleeping and waking up
and living my life in bliss all that
time!
I had forgotten about the incidence
and was unaware of the reality the
word I spoke plunged the wicked into
Words are seeds
When words are planted, they germinate
You are a believer
Plant life-giving, blessed and good
words consciously into your reality
Rid yourself of negative words either
from you or from others
Don't allow anyone to plant tares into
your field while you slept
You have eternal life
It is the life that overcomes all and
can never be subject to satan, sin
and death.
Always walk in this consciousness!
