She didn't intend to get married
It just wasn't her thing
Marriage is a complication only some can untangle
She was just very scared of the idea 
So she told her parents of her intention the day she 
clocked sixteen
She said she wanted to be a nun
Her mother didn't say anything
Her Father just smiled
She had five younger ones
With her parents everyone gets to pick his or her path
She gained admission into the university a year later
She was brilliant and was the academic star in no time
Being in the spotlight has its drawbacks
One of such was getting unduly popular
Guys flocked around
Not the social kind
But the serious kind like her
They wanted marriage and they have a glorious future
Eventually one of them was able to sway her
He was a first-class student like her and very attentive
She didn't know there would be a man who would
unmake her decision to become a nun so easily
She graduated as the joint best graduate of their set with him
They both got a job as soon as they graduated
They were hot cakes!
She had her ICAN and First degree by the age of 22
He had his ICAN and first degree by the age of 22
They wanted to get married immediately
Her mother wouldn't hear of it
Her mother said as long as she would be getting married
She can only marry within their church or she should forget it
That was how the denomination they were attending is
They were compelled to marry within the fold
The church did not tolerate members marrying people
of other faith or other denominations!
They dragged the issue for three years
Her mum insisted that if she married her guy, she was on her own
Her father was behind her all the way!
On her wedding day, her mother sat at home pouting!
She refused to attend the ceremony or pray for her
But she was determined to marry the love of her life
Three years of pleading and negotiation didn't change
her mother's stance!
After the marriage, everything blossomed!
She delivered her first child a year later
She and her husband prospered in every way
They were a power couple, with strong societal and 
economic influence
They bought their first land as a couple three years after
their marriage
Her relationship with her in-laws was wonderful
Her mother-in-law especially was like a mother to her
She had found a home away from home
Twice a year they would travel abroad with members of his family
including his mother, Father and sometimes other siblings
Her husband had relatives in the USA, Canada and Europe
Her marriage was glorious!
Five years after they got married, his husband's younger
sister living in the USA delivered a baby 
Her mother-in-law was invited to the USA to help the new
mother nurse her baby
When her mother in law was en route the airport
She dropped by at their house without calling ahead
She was told that they had moved out of the flat
Her mother-in-law got angry that they changed houses 
without informing anybody
She quickly rushed over to pick her mother-in-law
at their former house with apologies
They finished the house they were building earlier
than projected and decided to move
They would have made arrangements to pick her at the
motor park if she had called ahead!
Her mother-in-law was fuming but she kept it under check
until they got to the house
Immediately her mother-in-law saw the house
She vented!
"Did you call me to find out how your husband's people
build houses, how they build houses, at what age they
build houses, and what they do before building a house?"
You have a build a house for sale
This is not a house you will live in and find peace
She quickly went on her knees
"Mummy, mummy, this is an answer to your prayer!
You always pray for us that we will build houses
and live in them!
Now we have built and house and packed in
We must live in it"
Her mother-in-law looked right into her eyes
"I am still talking and you are talking too
You think you are the covering for my son
You think I can make a decree in my 
son's house and you
can equally make a decree to nullify my own?"
I said "You will not find a day of peace 
as long as you live in this
house! Unless your husband is not my son"
"Mummy, please stop saying that!
Your son is my husband and the father of my children
As long as I am in his house, there will 
be peace and progress here"
Her mother-in-law walked out
She wanted to follow her but she was a 
little angry too
She watched as her mother-in-law took 
some sand from 
the compound of the house and exited 
the main gate"
Later in the day, her husband returned 
with her mother-in-law
She didn't say a word
Her mother-in-law equally acted as if 
everything was fine
A few days later her mother-in-law traveled 
to the USA
A few days later, while she was sleeping, 
she saw her mother-in-law followed by seven 
other women
One of them aimed an arrow at her husband
She roused from sleep and screamed
"No! Why do you want to kill my husband?"
"He is our meat, we own him and he has done what
he ought not to do!
He built a house without giving us our due
We will take what belongs to us!
As the one with the arrow shot it, she dived
on her husband and took the arrow on her back"
She woke up screaming!
Her husband rushed her to the hospital
By the time they got to the hospital, she had lost
her senses
The doctors referred her to the neuropsychiatric 
hospital
The treatments began but nothing worked
Eventually, her husband was told to explore 
available alternatives
They started moving her from one specialist 
to the other
Her husband called his mother, explained the 
developments to her
She said "Whoever did what was not done, 
shouldn't complain
when he or she sees what has not been seen before"
Her mother-in-law returned home a year later
She didn't bother to check on her to see 
how she was doing
Even her husband was shocked by his mother's actions
They took her to churches and pastors!
Sometimes she would recover and tell stories of 
woe and peril!
Sometimes she would just be starring 
into space for hours
eating nothing, saying nothing, doing nothing
The condition persisted for three years
Her mother wasn't moved to help or assist her
The religious spirit keeping her mother in 
bondage was that strong
Doctors called it depression, psychosis, whatever!
Her life was spinning out of control
After a while, her husband got a nurse for her
She was moved to the guest room downstairs
Her husband cared for her and loved her 
but he had to work and take care of the children
It took him a year to start sleeping with 
another woman
She had a dream the very first day he cheated on her
She saw his mother leading him by the hand 
into a room where another woman was lying on the bed!
His mother said "Your love was all she was holding
on to, finish her off! Let her see this and end it all!"
As she watched her husband sleeping with the strange
lady, something broke in her mind!
She woke up from the dream and cried
When her husband returned from the office
He came to the room to check on her
She said "You slept with another woman today! 
I saw you!"
He looked at her and said "My mother said that 
is the only thing that can snap you out of this 
condition! I am doing it to help you! 
Don't you want to be well?"
That was the moment she realized his mother's 
manipulation had taken him over completely!
Later that night, she attempted suicide for 
the first time
She tied a rope around the ceiling fan and attempted
to hand herself
But the rope wasn't strong enough to hold her 
frail weight!
The nurse saw her as she fell to the floor while
attempting to die as quietly as possible!
She was taken back to the hospital!
It was while she was lying in the hospital bed that
she remembered a friend
A member of her church who works in a church office
She called him!
He listened to her and told her he knew 
somebody who could
be of help
He told her to tell her husband to bring her to the
office of the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt!
That night, the attacks returned with a venom
She saw a hand dragging her to a cliff and 
pushing her off
the cliff
She didn't know how she managed to leave the hospital
ward and walk right into the middle of the road
Walking briskly into the darkness of the night
She heard her name being called far far away
Somehow the hospital officials found her and carried 
her back to the hospital
They called her husband immediately to explain what
had happened!
They referred her to a proper mental health hospital
As her husband drove her away from the hospital
in the morning, she told him to take her to the office
of the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
They arrived at 11:05 on Wednesday 17th July 2019
The ministration took an hour!
by 12:30 AM, she had been fully restored!
She didn't remember much of the past three years
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt told her she
must forgive everybody that offended her and 
bless them in the name of Jesus!
She did so, starting with her husband!
She cried until the bitterness and anger was totally
out of her system
Then he laid hands on her and filled her with the Holy Spirit!
As she prayed in tongues, the atmosphere changed
The wind of the Holy Spirit restored her glory
She laughed and jumped and shouted for joy!
Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!
An hour after they left, her husband called
His mother slumped and has been rushed to the Hospital
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt told him to send him
her phone number
God does not want the death of any human being!
Jesus died to set all of us free!

PS: Christians shouldn't be susceptible to attacks like this
