Fallen
Within
She called out of the blue one evening
She was in pieces
Her heart seriously wounded
“I have been involved in sexual misconduct with a friend for some time! I am born again and I know in my spirit that this is wrong and yet I cannot stop. My sexual misconduct accomplice couldn’t stop also, he is also born again and spirit filled! We attend the same church!
We have no plan of marrying each other!
I don’t think we are attracted to each other that way!
It was just sex!
I want to stop!
I desire to stop!
But I can’t, please help me!”
He listened to her with rapt attention! Her heart was weeping, the battle between her flesh and her spirit had reached a crescendo! The flesh had always won but the spirit was fighting back! Hard!
She was being torn to shreds!
The scriptures say “sin shall no longer have dominion over her”
The Holy Spirit kept reminding her of this fact!
“He that is joined to the Lord must depart from iniquity….”
He prayed with her
He told her what to do!s
She did it!
She broke off the relationship
Her sex partner begged and tried all he could
She wouldn’t budge
He felt wounded
He had tasted honey for free!
How could she just close the honey pot?
Just like that!
The principle of “Once in the hole, always in the hole” must apply
How dare she change the rules and grow a conscience on him?
He went to the church pastor
He told the Church pastor a sob story
“She tried to seduce him
He resisted
She threatened to shout ‘rape’
He caved because he didn’t want a scandal
She had been blackmailing him since
She is of the devil
He came to report because his conscience was on fire
Pastor should deliver him!
He is ready to be punished!”
Pastor heard his story; pastor’s Holy anger got stirred
After service the following Sunday
Pastor invited her to his office and passed his judgement
“She is a daughter of Eve, a beguiler and a seductress”
He suspended her and made an example of her
She got home hurting all over!
It was a terrible feeling
It is true Apostle Paul said those who sin within the fold should be made an example of!
But surely there must be justice and equity!
She was psychologically torn to bits by the words of the pastor
It was as if she was a messenger of hell sent into the church to lead all the men into sin
She was shaken all over
Tears flowed freely
The fountain she was supposed to find joy and support in was turned into a whip and used to beat her silly
She picked her phone and placed the call
With wailing and gnashing of teeth
“Sir, I did everything you instructed me to do, I obeyed you and even though I wanted to go to the pastor and report the case myself, you told me not to and I didn’t. And now, see what has happened to me! See how I have been stripped naked and shamed by the church! I cannot even walk in the street or anywhere close to the church! The news of my wickedness had spread everywhere! I feel like committing suicide! I am drowning and dying in this cesspool! This is so unfair! And he was not even suspended! He was reprimanded for lacking the spirit of discernment to know how evil I was. He was treated like a victim and I was the predator! The big bad wolf! How is this fair?”
He understood perfectly shat she was going through!
A few days later she left the church
For several months she didn’t go to another church
The church had hurt her
The pastor didn’t come looking for her
None of the elders thought her worthy of receiving a hand of love and restoration
Good riddance to rubbish!
She found love elsewhere
With a man from another religion
He heard about it and called her
What are you doing!?
Where are you?
She told him where she was
He traveled to see her
She cried and cried
She had been thrown to the wolves
She would take love wherever she could find it
He told her she couldn’t lose eternity because of the misdeed of a church or a fellow believer
He introduced her to another church
She started attending
She thrived
She met a man in the church
She married him!
She was found joy and delight in the Lord again
Ps: Church leaders sometimes lack the heart of Christ when dealing with certain issues!
The sheep is still infinitely of more importance to Christ than the offence!
Apostle Paul, in 2 Corinthians 2 – {5 If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you to some extent—not to put it too severely. 6 The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient. 7 Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8 I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.} stated clearly that though making an example of an erring believer is important, forgiving, comforting and reaffirming the love of the church for such is more important!
The church is a place of healing, not a place of condemnation!
When the Holy Spirit had already convicted a believer of wrong doing, the church should trust the Holy Spirit to finish his work and not interfere by wounding such a person more!
We are dealing with the flock of Christ!
Let us remember this always!

Without
He sent him a message expressing his grief
He had been sleeping with a fellow believer for over a year
They were both Holy Ghost filled believers
They grew fond of each other and one day, familiarity went beyond cuddles and kisses
They had been very careful
Nobody in church suspected them
The direct consequence of their action was inevitable
His zeal diminished
He started praying less
Praying in the tongues became a struggle
The words started coming from his head rather than his tummy
Sometimes he wouldn’t even feel like going to church
The effect was the same for her
They found consolation in each other’s arms
They were drifting from the fold
Their hearts went cold
Their spirit went limp
They were in the church but couldn’t say if they are of the church
It affected him badly
His business started wobbling
She started falling ill every other week
They started lying to each other and to others
They were devolving
They learnt how to give excuses in advance to the pastor so that the church wouldn’t suspect a thing
They became alarmingly good hypocrites
By the turn of the year they had done two abortions
The farther they were from the light of the Holy Spirit
The deeper they got buried in ungodliness
He submitted a proposal for a contract
He was very sure the contract would be given to him
The company told him to proceed with the execution
He did the job
They refused to pay
He was wallowing deep in debt
He threatened and protested as much as he could
It felt as if his voice was going to voice mail
Out of desperation, he reached out
“Please sir, I have sinned and God is punishing me
I did this and that and those
Myself and my friend have repented
God had turned his back on us
Please help us beg God!
Please sir”
2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land
He saw the message and responded
“God does not afflict his children
It is not in His character to inflict pain and wound because he is angry
God doesn’t even want the death of a sinner, how much more his children!
It is the devil that has capitalized on your broken fellowship to attack you and your spouse!
It is not God!
As you have repented now, I will pray for a restoration of your fellowship with the Holy Spirit and you will experience an instant change!
The devil will hand over all the territories you have ceded and everything will turn around!
They exchanged phone numbers
He called them
He told them to pray in tongues
He also prayed
Then he prayed for their restoration
One hour later, his phone rang!
“Sir, O my God, my account has been credited! My debtors have paid and they paid everything they were owing me and even for the aspect of the job I have not done yet!
Hallelujah!
They both restored their fellowship in church
They stopped fooling around
They now know the love of the father is real
And those who fall out of fellowship due to misdeeds would become victims in the long run!
They didn’t marry each other
She met another brother and married him a year later
He met another Sister and married her two years later
PS: No pastor was involved
It didn’t become messy
Their fellowship with the Holy Spirit was restored
Heaven rejoiced
The Holy Spirit corrected them without wounding them
Am I saying that errors amongst members should not be made an example of and corrected? No!
{Job 5: 17Blessed indeed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. 18For He wounds, but also binds; He strikes, but His hands also heal }
If you will wound without binding, if your hand can strike but it cannot heal, please keep away from pastoring his flock!
