Gobsmacked

The choir had just finished ministering
He was seated in the very first row
Waiting for the Pastor to commence with the sermon
Somebody tapped him on the shoulder and passed him a note
He opened the note
"Sir", the note says, "So and so is in the children church, she has Asthma Attack"
He stood up immediately
When he got into the children church he saw her
One of the ladies in the choir
Her eyes were all red
She was gasping for breath
Some choir members were huddled together in one corner
Talking to one another about what to do
An elderly woman had switched off the Air Condition
She was furiously opening the windows
She said her father had the same disease
All the lady needed was fresh air
He stood right by the entrance, like a statue
He was taking in the scene
He didnt say a word
The lady in question looked up and saw him
She stretched out her hand as of to call him
Her lungs were closing
She couldn't breathe
Her movement became frantic, her arms flailing
She was acting like someone in the throes of death
He walked up to her, threw off his jacket on the way and laid hands on her
"Body be calm, lungs open now in the name of Jesus"
The lady's eyes locked into his own
She went limp
Just like that!
He stood up and took off his tie
He truly hated wearing suit and tie
But he had no alternative but to comply with the Sunday "Dress code" for workers
The lady opened her eyes
The attack had lifted
He: How are you feeling now?
The lady nodded
He: Were you Asthmatic?
The lady nodded
He told the lady to stand up
He rebuked the spirit of affliction
He rebuked  the spirit of asthma
He came against every manifestation of the illness on her body
He laid hands on her head
The lady took a deep breath and Whooozzzzzzzzzz!
She vomited phlegm and other substances
it went on for a few minutes
The redness cleared from her eyes
She wheezing and noise inside her chest stopped!
He laid hands on her again
He ordered damaged body parts to be repaired
He breathed upon her
She fell under the anointing!
Everybody started clapping
The Children, The children teachers, the members of the choir present at the scene
They had witnessed a miracle
Right there and then!
WOW!
One of the ministers in the church walked into the room
What are you guys doing here while service was going on?
This is gross indiscipline!
He turned to the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
Why are you dressed like this?
Where is your Jacket, where is your tie?
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt didn't say a word
He apologized, took his tie and jacket and left!
Service over, Pastor calls a meeting
Why did you divide the service into two?
I got the following report from this and that
You are a leader in the church
Many of the youths look up to you
You have to comport yourself, and fall in line
They will take a cue from you that it is okay to be somewhere else while service was going on
Discipline is key in leadership positions
He apologized again
There was no point explaining!
One month later, the lady that was healed of Asthma approached him
She shared her testimony
"I have not had cause to use my inhaler for the past one month
I wear what I like and go out when I like
Even in this cold!
And I finally said yes to my fiance
I had asked God to heal me of this sickness before I got married
I made the request about ten years ago
When my man proposed, I told him to give me six months to work it out
If God does not answer before then I will know I have to bear it
It has been a burden for me since I was born
Thank God I have been totally made whole
So, sir, I will like to invite you for my wedding
It is taking place at so and so registry in a month's time!"
He accepted the invitation card and blessed her
Wedding day arrived, he drove to the venue
He waited for other ministers
Nobody showed up!
WOW!
He wasn't prepared for that at all!
What would he give the couple?
He prayed!
Father, I want to bless this couple but I do not have enough
Please
He decided he would use the ATM, put some money in the envelope for them
He got to the ATM, withdrew 5000 Naira
He got back to his car, dropped the money on the passenger seat beside him in the front seat
He searched the car for an envelope
He eventually found one
He turned to the passenger seat
Behold! He was looking at a 50 pounds note! and other notes in Naira
What!
He counted the money again
The currency he withdrew were ten 500 Naira notes
He saw one 50 pound note and nine 500 Naira notes
Sometimes, God deliberately gob-smacks his own children
He put the 50 pounds note in the envelope
He gave the gift to the couple with joy
As he drove home from the wedding venue, he couldn't help but shed tears of wonder
This God is just too much
