Knockout

The day she was diagnosed of Cancer

It felt like a wicked joke

Her left breast suddenly grew bigger than the right one

She felt it over and over again and there was no lump

She had always wanted to have bigger breasts

Especially when she was a teenager

She earnestly prayed for it

Like it or not, breasts are a selling point to attract guys

A full breast also makes for great clothes fitting

In the end she got what she had 

Something a bit bigger than medium

She grew to love and appreciate it

The sudden growth of her left breast was at first amusing to her

She really didn't pay much attention to it

She was 27 years old and enjoying her great life

She had just passed her ICAN examination and earned herself a well deserved promotion at work

She was surfing high on the waves of life

But then she met him

The guy that changed everything

He was an expatriate with a multinational engineering firm

He was living in one of the serviced flats close to her church

He came in one Sunday morning and took to her immediately

She was one of the greeters who welcomed him to church that morning

He sought her out during the service and asked her questions about the church 

He was from the same denomination of the church in his country

He noticed a slight difference in the mode of worship and he sought clarification

She did the best she could

He said his father was a fourth generation reverend of the same denomination back home

She wanted to call one of the ministers to enlighten him more

But he refused

He only wanted her opinion

After service he asked if he could take her to dinner later that evening

She didn't have anything planned and agreed 

They had a very decent time that evening

He took her to an Italian restaurant

When she protested that she didn't take too well to strange dishes

He promised her if she didn't like it, he would take her to a fast food eatery close by

She loved it!

He was a good listener

At a point during the night she started enjoying herself

She didn't know when exactly but she suddenly couldn't find the initial tension anymore

The date ended around 10pm

The taxi he ordered took her home first

He didn't try anything

He ensured she got safely into her apartment before leaving

He called her immediately he got home

He thanked her for the night and told her he would like to take her out again

He also called her the next morning

She liked him

It wasn't even in her wildest dream to marry a foreigner

But she crossed her fingers and trusted to hope

They became a steady item afterwards

He would take her out and tell her about his country

They discussed the difference in culture and tradition

They never ran out of stuffs to talk about

She grew to love him

It took her almost three months to convince herself he had become important to her

One saturday he did a video call and introduced her to his family

His family members were all gathered together and well dressed

She sensed he had told them to prepare for it

It made her feel very important

He has plans for her

Sure enough he proposed three weeks later

She had no reason to say no!

That night, lying on her bed and admiring her ring, the thought of her swelling breast surfaced again

She was daydreaming about them being together on the wedding night

And she wondered if he would take one look at her breast and one of his eye brows would hang awkwardly

The next morning, she went to the hospital and was immediately referred to an oncologist

Three days later she got the result

They gave her at most two years to live!

It was a death sentence

She wished she didn't bother to go for the test

From the moment she got the result she suddenly felt really sick

She woke up that morning dreaming of her wedding night and went to bed seeing herself in a coffin

The doctors told her she took too many things for granted

She should have had a test immediately she noticed her breast bloating

The cancer had metastasized

They could do radiotherapy or chemotherapy to slow the progress

But it had spread everywhere!

She didn't get it

Apart from her left breast swelling, she had no other symptoms!

She surfed the internet

She saw cancer patients with tubes and all sorts of stuffs sticking out of them

She decided she would rather die whole than die shut in fighting the inevitable

No hospital and no gloom or doom for her

She will enjoy the two years she had

She didn't tell her man anything

She didn't tell anybody except for her mother

Her mother told a friend

Her mother's friend told her about the brother in Jeans and T-shirt

Her mother called the brother in Jeans and T-shirt

Her mother: My son, i will bring her to the vigil you are holding, you just lay hands on her

They came for the vigil

The brother in Jeans and T-shirt laid hands on her and commanded the cancer to die!

She fell under the anointing, her entire body trembled under the power of the Holy Spirit

After the vigil she waited to see the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt

She: How did you know i had cancer?

Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: Your mother told me

She: Is it dead?

Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: Very very dead

She: Can it come back?

Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: Which denomination do you attend?

She: So and So church

Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: It may come back

She: Why?

Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: The gospel, that denomination does not believe 

that the power of the gospel unto salvation included healing.

How do you keep your healing when you dont hear the right gospel everyday?

She: I understand

When she got home she changed churches! 

She started attending a pentecostal church close to her house

She went to the hospital

The cancer was confirmed dead

Her man didn't understand the sudden change in church

He loved her and he wanted to marry her but he wasn't willing to change church

He told him about the cancer and her healing

She gave him the result and told him the counsel she received

He laughed! Told her it was all a mental thing

Is God not the head of every church?

The penterascals just want to collect your money

She explained to him that the person that prayed for her has no church 

of his own and does not collect money for healing ministrations

He convinced her to ditch the counsel

She started attending her former church

One month later, her left breast suddenly bloated again

She rushed to the Hospital

The cancer was back

It was as if it never left

She rushed to the vigil the brother in Jeans and T-shirt held on November 30, 2018

Immediately he saw her he knew the cancer was back

It wasn't the first time he would see such

The problem was not about laying hands on her again

The problem was the fact that she had the healing in her already and the demon had found a way to corrupt it

The word cannot act against itself

She would have to be purged of the demon and the corrupted word

That takes time and a lot of work

After the vigil he told her the truth

We will be reading the scripture together every night for some time

On one of such days while we are praying you will be healed

They started immediately

He told her never to go to that denomination again

They read the scripture together and prayed over the phone for one hour every day

Seven days after they started, she got filled with the Holy Spirit and started praying in tongues

They pushed the time to two hours

one hour to read the scripture

The other to pray in tongues and pray

It took another fourteen days

While they were praying that December morning, she suddenly started coughing

The cough persisted until she threw up a huge lump of blood clot

The Word of God had given cancer a permanent knockout

She knew she was healed right then

She never went back to her former denomination

It was a good denomination but it wasn't equipped to keep her alive or healthy

She was declared medically cancer free on December 27, 2018

Her man saw that her argument was valid and moved to her new church with her

At 10am on the 9th of February 2019

They were joined together in Holy Matrimony in Dubai

PS: I have seen this syndrome over the years

Pastor's praying for the sick by saying 

"We don't know why you (God) has deemed it fit for us (The sick) to experience this situation at this time" 

This is an erroneous statement! (God doesn't permit his children to be attacked by sickness)

Or "If it is thy will, please heal this sick person" (It is always God's will to heal the sick! Jesus gave us the authority and power to do so)

We all read the same Bible

We shouldn't lose our members to sicknesses we have been given authority over

Hospitals are good but they cannot cast out demons

The Holy Spirit is willing to help us

Please let us allow him do so!
