The Anointing Is Key To Prosperity
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Psalm 1:3).
No one born into this world was destined by God to be poor, sick, broken, depressed, downcast, or afflicted. Rather, God’s will is for all men to prosper and be in health, even as their souls prosper (3 John 1:2). He seeks the prosperity of your spirit, your soul, and your physical body: the reason you shouldn’t accommodate or accept sickness, poverty, or defeat.
I’m aware of those who say, “We shouldn’t always expect good from God; we should sometimes expect bad things, because life is full of ups and downs.” That’s a great misconception of the message of the Gospel. God isn’t the mastermind of the evil and suffering in the world. His dream, which has already been actualized for you in Christ Jesus, is for you to walk in complete prosperity.
This prosperity, however, is beyond money; the presence or absence of money doesn’t change your state or condition spiritually, and therefore shouldn’t change your testimony of God. Money is a tool. If, for example, you require something, and your money isn’t enough for it, that doesn’t mean you can’t have it; you can get it free! That’s the life of prosperity I’m talking about. God never said, “Except you have the money, nothing will be yours”; rather, He said plainly, “…all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21). What’s important is the purchasing power, and your purchasing power isn’t money; it’s your faith! You’re what God says you are, irrespective of the currencies you have at hand or don’t have.
This same principle applies to your health. It makes no difference if you feel severe discomfort in your body; proclaim healing and health! Maintain a good confession, and your faith will prevail!
Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever (Psalm 112:1-3).
There are those who think financial prosperity isn’t for Christians, and they’re wrong. There are three people we find in the Bible that God identified Himself with: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they were super wealthy. In Exodus 3:6, God said to Moses, “… I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob….” Read about these three individuals, and you’ll be amazed at the extent of their prosperity.
Genesis 13:2 tells us that Abraham “…was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.” The Bible says of his son Isaac, “And the man (Isaac) waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him” (Genesis 26:13-14). Jacob, too, had a similar testimony; the Bible says, “ And the man (Jacob) increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses” (Genesis 30:43).
God’s prosperity isn’t for a select few; it’s for all who follow and live by His Word. He said in 3 John 1:2, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” As a Christian, you’re an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ (Romans 8:17), which makes prosperity your birthright. All the wealth in this world belongs to you. This is how you ought to think. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says all things are yours; believe, think, and talk accordingly. Have the consciousness of sufficiency and superabundance.
If you’ve struggled all your life in lack, want, and penury, what you need is a new orientation; a new mindset. Change your language, your consciousness, and your thinking, and your situation will change. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind….” Think and talk prosperity until your whole mentality isn’t just overhauled but supplanted by the possibilities of the prosperous life.
The first step to living in prosperity is to believe in prosperity. Some Christians don’t believe in it. Most times, they’re the same ones who condemn and criticize preachers who teach God’s Word on prosperity. Not to believe in prosperity or in the message of prosperity is not to believe in God, for if you study the Bible carefully, you will discover that the prosperity of the Christian is God-ordained, God’s idea, and God’s desire.
If anyone must question, doubt, or get sceptical about the message of prosperity, it shouldn’t be the Christians. We must understand that God already gave the Christian his heritage in Christ Jesus. Man is a spirit, and his life isn’t dependent on circumstances. What matters to God is your spiritual condition. Therefore, whether or not you have money in your bank account doesn’t change who you are, and it shouldn’t change your testimony of God.
Money is only a tool to get the things you want, and where money isn’t enough to get them, you can obtain them through faith. The Bible says, “…all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21). Your purchasing power isn’t money; it’s faith. So you’re prosperous irrespective of the value of the currencies in the world. It’s the same thing with your health; it doesn’t matter if you’re feeling headaches or pains in your body, divine health is your divine present-hour heritage. Declare, “I refuse to be sick, because I’ve got the life of God in me.”
If you’re a child of God, believe in prosperity, and don’t be apologetic about it. Don’t accept being poor or average. You have been made rich (2 Corinthians 8:9); refuse to talk about lack and poverty. Instead, keep talking about your abundance!
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3
The life God has given us in Christ is that of great glory and prosperity. You’re ordained to prosper, not just financially or in certain aspects of your life, but all-round – in everything and in every way. This ought to be your experience of life. We have the key to this all-around prosperity, where everything you do and everything that has to do with you prospers! It’s by delighting yourself in the law of the Lord – His Word – and meditating on it day and night!
How prosperous do you want to be? How glorious do you want your life to be? If you’d delight yourself in the Lord and meditate on His words regularly or frequently, you’ll be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. You’ll bring forth fruit in due season; your leaves will not wither, and whatsoever you do shall prosper.
“Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” Isaiah 58:14
How do you delight yourself in the Lord? It’s by giving yourself to His Word, doing His Word, meditating on it day and night, and living it! Desiring God’s Word and cherishing it more than your necessary food (Job 23:12)! When you do these, everything you do will prosper and turn out right. Whatever you get involved in will work. That’s my life! Everything I do prospers. That’s because I’ve made the Word my delight and my meditation.
Your life is ordained by God to go from one level of glory to another. He created you for success, excellence, dignity, honour, and beauty. This ought to reflect in every aspect of your life: in your job, health, family, relationships, business, ministry, etc. – you’re to prosper exceedingly! Remember, prosperity, success, divine health, and the good life are all your birthright in Christ Jesus. Our study today is to help you realize this and know some of the things you’re to do to experience the prosperity of God and the manifold blessings of the Spirit in your life.
