The Strangler

Wife: Sir, I wasn't supposed to be in this situation 
at all
I know nothing of this whole thing
I met him while we were still in school
I was in the final year at the School of 
Hygiene then
He was a student at a Private university close
 to my school
Their school was not too far from ours
He used to come to our school in company of 
his friends
There were some ladies in our school who lived 
loose lives
These ladies were all about partying and having 
fun
If anybody had a party to do and needed the ladies 
to storm the party
So that the party can be lively and fun
The person would contact one of the ladies and make 
the
necessary arrangements
Most fridays, the ladies were off
As long as there would be music and alcohol and a lot 
of guys
All the ladies require was transportation and a guarantee 
of safety
They would be at the party!
That was what he came to our school to do
He came to find out if he could get the ladies to 
come for his grandfather's funeral
It was just fortune that arranged in such a way that 
I was the one he met
He greeted me and introduced himself
Then he asked me if i could link him with 
the "party girls"
I know the ladies butI dont relate with them at all
I have deliberately kept far away from them 
because I know myself
I get easily carried away and they would inevitably 
influence me negatively
I told him I know the ladies but I have never had 
anything to do with them
He begged me to help him
So I took him to the female hostel and told the 
porter to call the 
leader of the ladies
I introduced them and left
Few weeks later, the lady came to my room to 
say thank you
She gave an envelope and told me if I had any 
other good contact, I should let her know
She would always ensure that I get my cut for 
facilitating the deal
I wanted to return the envelope
But I thought about it and kept it
Later that day, he called me to say thank you
He said he got my phone number from the lady
The party was a big success and His Father was 
really glad he brought so many people to the party
He said his Father gave him a certain amount to ensure 
that the ladies got back home safe and were 
compensated for their troubles
It was then I learnt that the party took place in Minna
His Father was a very popular politician
We became friends of sort
He would call me out of the blue and ask if i was free and available
Most time I would quickly tell him I was free
He was the kind of guy you will be free for even if 
you don't want to be
He had too much money
He would take me out, feed me and buy me all sorts 
without asking for anything
in return
He never asked me out!
He never behaved in such a manner that would 
suggest he 
was even thinking about it
He told me he enjoyed my company
When I graduated, I proceeded to the school of 
nursing
That had been my dream all along! 
To become a nurse
He continued to come around once or twice every 
semester
We had become friends of sorts by this time
I call him once in a while, especially when I needed 
some money
I was not from a poor background by any means and 
my parents 
were the ones who took responsibility for me during 
my school days
But I must confess that because he had a deep 
pocket and a large heart
I call him sometimes knowing he will readily 
assist me
When I graduated, I called him and he helped 
me secure a good place to work
That was when he told me he wanted something 
more serious with me
By then we have known each other for eight years
I have had four failed relationships during this time
I never told him about my relationships
And he never told me about his
But after he told me his intentions towards me
I realised it would be foolish of me to turn him down
So I told him we needed to meet at least one more 
time before i will give him my response!
During this meeting, I told him everything
I told him about the two medical students I dated 
and how I broke it off immediately I noticed I was 
their "side chick"
I told him about the relationship I had with someone 
in the church which had to end 
because his mother said he can not date someone 
from another tribe but their own
I told him about the guy my cousin was trying to 
matchmake me with!
The guy was in Cyprus and we were still talking 
on the phone but nothing
concrete had developed
He told me he has had relationships too but 
nothing serious
He had always known he would end up with me
He would like me to be his wife
I looked into his eyes as he spoke, trying to see if
 there was any deceit in him
He told me no!
With him, tribalism would not be a problem
We are both from the same local government!
My parents were not politicians but they are very 
respectable 
in our community
He took me home, his parents and siblings 
loved me
(I met his Father and Mother and immediate 
siblings from his own mother at his mother's 
house on a Saturday and His Father, the other 
three wives and other siblings at his Father's 
house on a Sunday!)
Later that same Sunday evening, I took him home 
to meet my parents
My Father took us to the Church to meet the Reverend
Father that same day
My Father hated monkeying around and took the matter 
to heart
We were given a date for the wedding
The bans of marriage were sent out for announcements 
in both our churches
Eight months later, we got married!
That was all I Know!

Husband: I had been dating ladies since I was 16
I know how ladies are
The one thing I avoid at all cost is a woman's trouble
Whenever I am dating a lady. I date only her
i don't double date and i don't sleep with multiple 
women either 
at the same time or separately
I am a serious minded person
It is true that I didn't tell my wife my intention at the 
beginning
The day I met her, I was shocked to see that we were 
from the same tribe
Both of us were in the southwest and we hail from 
the same village
I took an interest in her the way a fellow tribesman 
will take interest in the welfare of the other
I was in a very serious relationship with a lady from 
another tribe
My parents had no issue with marrying from other 
tribes 
My Father especially saw it as an asset because of 
his status as a  politician
The lady was with me for six years
We were living together and I was taking care of her 
just as
 she was taking care of me
But we had no discussion about marrying each other
I never proposed to her!
Although there are those moments when we will talk 
in futuristic terms
She saying she wanted so and so number of children 
and I saying I wanted to locate my family in this and 
that place or moments like that
But those were just unguarded thoughts
Nothing more!
One day she said she wanted to know what my 
plans were
She said this in the middle of the night
I was uncomfortable with the timing
If I tell her I don't want to marry her, she might injure 
me or injure herself
If it was during the day, I would know how to read in 
between the lines and 
take appropriate steps
So I told her the truth
I told her she was being manipulative and 
deliberately 
asked that
question at night with a sinister motive
It became an argument!
She cried and I was unhappy
The next morning, just as I was settling down at 
the office
(I had started working at the branch of my Father's 
law firm located in the southwest
at the time)
I got a "Happy new month" text message from 
my wife
We were not married then but the message made 
my heart glad
It changed my mind and my mood completely
So I called her and we met
That was when I decided I wanted to marry her and 
I told her so
That night, I slept in a hotel
My flat was where I was cohabiting with my girlfriend
My girlfriend started calling me and sending me 
text messages
She apologised for offending me and told me all 
she wanted was 
my presence in her life
I didn't respond
Then she came to my office the next day
She cried and cried and cried
She made me feel like a wicked person
Eventually, I told her it is okay! I forgive her
I returned to my flat and started looking for a way to 
tell her it is over
I was afraid she would do something crazy if I was 
not careful
But I never got the chance
She stuck to me like a puppy, kissing and patronizing 
and clinging to me
I feel she knows I was gone but held on anyway
The weekend I was getting married, I told her I was 
travelling
I left, got married and moved to another house with 
my life
I never went back there
I just had to move on with my life!

Girlfriend: Who does that? Who does that?
If he was callous, does that make being callous 
his exclusive right?
If he doesn't have blood in his veins, does that make 
his the only zombie in the world?
He used me for seven years
Husband: Six years and we both used each other
Girlfriend: This is the person you said I should forgive, 
he still had the mouth to argue
Husband: We started going out in 2008 July and I got 
married in 2013 December
It was six years! That was all I wanted to clarify and 
the "Used" me line is not true
We lived together, I took care of your needs including 
that of your family, I gave you
#50,000 for monthly upkeep and bought you a car
We were dating from when i was an undergraduate 
until i started working and I never cheated on you, 
i never gave you a sexually transmitted disease, 
I just didn't see a future with you and I had to walk '
away
Girlfriend (Picks her bag) How heartless of you to talk 
to me like that, like i meant nothing to you! How wicked 
can you be! How heartless! How mad! How insane! 
Infact, you have just begun! Since you have insisted 
on being a billy goat, the rope is surely very fitting for 
your neck (Started walking towards the door)

The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt: If you walk away, you 
will lose everything!
You are now a believer, a new creature
You are not allowed to think or react this way
Please come back!
(She turns back and takes a sit)
You are my sister, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit has
brought us together and you must do the right thing!

Girlfriend: (Nods, crying softly) I forgive you and I bless you! Everything I did while
in darkness and in pain that might have affected your life, I reverse them by the power of the Holy Spirit!
My Sister, you are blessed
Your womb is blessed
Your life is blessed
I release and forgive you
So and So, I am no longer bitter towards you
The blood of Jesus has set me free and He has also set you free
You will enjoy your marriage and bear many fruits
Amen!

The curse has met with the gospel
The desert is flourishing again
Every death that had been spoken forth turns to life now
Every shadow of darkness gives way to indelible light
For you as a couple, the six years of barrenness is over
For you as a single lady, the pneuma will bring your husband 
I command you settled in Jesus name!
You are all blessed with children, corn and wine
The dew of heaven is yours and the fatness of the earth
Within nine months, the bell and the bundles shall arrive
Thank you, Jesus,
It is done!

PS: It was the girlfriend that came to my office in June 2018
She said she was jilted and out of bitterness she went into the diabolical 
For six years the couple she cursed were barren
For six years she didn't get one man to look at her
One night she told herself the curse must be binding all of them
I told her to invite the couple over
What you read above happened
The couple had their first child, a girl in April 2019
She is married and lives in Cote d'Ivoire today
As you read this, release those you hold in unforgiveness
I pronounce the blessing of the Lord upon you
