Gold Rush

She was fifteen when she gave away her
virginity
It was a miracle she kept it for that long
Her environment didn't nurture such
Money was all around her society
It was a very strong factor in determining
success
There were so many ways to get rich
Her environment supported all
Money is money
The means is just a question of morality
The only unforgivable sin in her environment
was being poor
This was an unwritten code
But the rich had always ruled over the poor
Money equalled success!
Her first boyfriend was twenty years old
She was in secondary school
He was working with one of the mining
companies
He enticed her with money and a lot of gifts
She grabbed everything and opened her legs
to him when she realised the waiting game was
not producing more gifts
He was weary of waiting and could move on
She didn't want to lose him
She was not a child
She grew up among sharks and had paid
attention to how the game was played
It lasted for two years
He met another girl and ditched her
She wasn't very perturbed about it
He was her first and she had been told that
first loves are like your first car
The thrill of driving was more of a motivation
than the car itself
Then she met her second boyfriend, an adonis
handsome and rich with a lot of swagger
She knew he was not someone she could marry
She was seventeen and had several routes to 
tow in life
He was twenty-five and was working with an
oil company
The relationship was her first exposure 
to clubs and groovy parties
Her boyfriend was a man of the world
He craved the validation of such places
Street credibility!
He was also a ladies man
He didn't hide it
She knew she was one of many but he gave her
money to meet her needs and she needed it
Since she was fifteen she had fended 
for herself
She had her parents and siblings
But it was a thing of pride in her culture 
not to go running to your parents for every 
need at a certain age!
You must learn to earn with what you have,
don't be a burden!
This was also an unwritten code!
Her boyfriend had a friend
They all go clubbing and partying together
The friend also has a girlfriend
A beautiful student of the local university
The friend loved his girlfriend very much
But her man had more swagger and did the
unthinkable
He started sleeping with his friend's 
girlfriend!
His friend found out!
Her boyfriend was more handsome and he 
had more money
In their culture, morality was relative
It was a dog eat dog lifestyle
Her boyfriend did nothing new
His friend knew and accepted this 
She also accepted what happened for 
what it was
The friend wanted to revenge
But she wouldn't play that game with him
It was like being cheated on by a Lexus
And taking revenge on the Lexus with a beetle
It was of no advantage to her!
His friend was also working with an oil 
company as a cleaner
He wanted to hurt her boyfriend for what he did
Her boyfriend was untouchable in every way
His friend told him he would take her away 
from  him
Her boyfriend guffawed!
His friend had a boss who loved beautiful ladies
His friend told his boss about her
The boss was interested
His friend told her he had made arrangements to
push her upwards in life
He told her his boss was an extremely rich and 
generous man
He was unmarried and needed company
He was talking private jets, Rolls Royces and
Chateus 
That was the ultimate dream of the ladies in
her community
Land a big fish and keep it!
She agreed to test the waters
There were many like her who made it big by
marrying the rich lonely guy
It was one of the paths approved and desired
by many in her community
She had nothing to lose
The friend introduced her to his boss
And it was like the introduction of the cloud 
to water
He loved her immediately
He was in his forties, rich and very generous
He was also a Frenchman from Monaco!
That was how the trajectory of her life changed
He shot her beyond the moon
Took her all over the world
She was his pet project
He gave her anything she needed without asking
questions
He pumped a lot of money into her family
Built a mansion for her parents
Sponsored her sibling's education
She had hit the jackpot
He was a mining expert and consultant
His services were needed in all the mining 
cities all over the world
She travelled with him everywhere
He opened her eyes to certain realities and 
a lot of pleasures 
He had been married and divorced four times
before he met her
he was one of those guys
A serial monogamist
She studied the profile of his ex-wives
They were all quite young when he met them
and he dumped them as they grew older
She was determined to keep him
She kept her shape and remained a delight
She didn't nag him
Of course, he sometimes strayed with another 
woman
She turned a blind eye to it
He was her pipeline to success
What is a little cheating?
After six years of enjoying a luxurious life
as his babe
He proposed!
She worked very hard to earn the proposal
He had grown weary of marriage but her family
kept pressuring her to marry him
"He will throw you away if you don't secure
this relationship! What do you have to gain?
You will just be like a high-class call girl?
You are a woman and you are not growing any 
younger, do what you must to get the ring!"
Her mother, her sisters, her father, everybody
was in on it
Poverty was a disease and they believed they
had discovered the cure through her
They were living in Monaco at the time
She had grown on him and he sensed that she
was unhappy over something
he asked her what it was and she told him
about her mother's persistent phonecall
demanding that she settle down and legitimise
the relationship!
She timed it to perfection
He was in the right frame of mind!
A few days later he bent the knee
She said yes!
After the wedding, he told her he didn't want 
children!
He never had any with the previous marriages
He just wanted to live and die like Cassanova!
But she was an African, such talk is foolish 
talk to an African wife
Two years into the marriage, she delivered a
set of twins!
He loved them immediately
It was as if she gave him the greatest gift 
in existence
He doted over them to her surprise
But he never came back to her bed!
Not even once!
To him, the marriage was over!
She tried everything 
He had completely logged out of her!
He took care of all her needs and made sure
she had everything she needed
But he chose to satisfy his sexual needs 
elsewhere
The marriage coasted for four years
She met him at eighteen, married him at 
twenty-six and gave birth to the children
at twenty-eight!
She just turned thirty-two!
Would she stick with a sexless marriage
and claim she would manage with the two
children
She wouldn't dare cheat on him
He was rich and powerful and she lived
entirely off him
She had no certificate or skill she could put
to use to get a job
It was a conundrum!
She told her mother the state of things
The "money tree" was in jeopardy
Something had to be done! But what?
She turned to God!
God had always been a go-to in times
of crisis
Churches were set up in her community
for her likes as a form of therapy!
The pastors were mostly there to earn from
desperate situations such as hers
Her mother suggested a pastor who was
considered hot in her community
She was against it
She turned to God by herself and prayed
"Lord Jesus, I know that I have done this my way
and I have enjoyed it while it lasted
But I am now in a fix
My husband is not coming home and my bed
is empty
My heart is heavy!
I don't want to lose my marriage!
I love my husband and I want to be with him
All the other alternatives are not good for me
Please intervene, please help me!"
It was the best she could do!
The following week her husband got a contract
in the middle East
She used to travel with him in the past
But since she had the babies, he had been
travelling by himself
He left!
She prayed every day while he was away
She had money, she had children
She had everything
But she couldn't see good in the future!
Some of her friends told her to divorce him
"You will be well compensated by the court"
But she was living in Monte-Carlo with her 
family, she had checked!
She would get nothing!
She would either have to live like a nun 
in her
own marriage, or wait and pray for him to 
decide her future with some compassion or 
rely on divine intervention!
She knew heaven would not fall
Prayer doesn't hurt!
Three weeks after he travelled, he was flown 
back home in an emergency 
He had an accident on the rig 
He was given the very best treatment
He recovered fully
But somehow he had lost his memory
The doctor said it was partial Amnesia
He remembered her and the children
And he remembered who he was and what 
he does
But somehow he had forgotten his disposition
towards her
He spent a month in the hospital
He was discharged
He happily returned home with her and 
the children
It was a strange stroke of fortune
But it worked in her favour
He returned to her bed and they had a third
child a year later
As adviced by the doctor, he took things
easy with work
He was already super-rich and had investments
in many profitable companies
She saw it as the hand of God!

PS: The couple are still happily married
The twins are seven years old and the
last child, a girl is two years old
They host a Pentecostal fellowship in their
house in Monaco every Sunday 
She is growing rapidly in her walk with the
Holy Spirit
She said she saw a vision a few days before
her husband's accident
She was seating in the children's room
watching them sleep and crying her eyes
out when she was herself falling off a cliff
A hand grabbed her and landed her on her
feet!
She said she felt comforted immediately
and knew God would help her!
God did!
