Ignorance and Bliss

They have come again with their 
“God is angry” routine 
Suddenly Covid-19 is God’s weapon of 
wrath unleashed against a sinful world 
in order to lead people to repentance! 
This is a LIE! 
It is not biblical, it does not fit with the 
gospel and the finished work of Jesus 
on the cross
When you ask the carriers of these sort 
of messages to back it up 
They come up with ‘Somebody had a dream, 
Somebody saw a vision, 
There is too much sin in the world" 
But not a shred of the New Testament 
scripture to back it up! 
It is not consistent with the nature of God! 
Corona Virus is Not from God! 
This is 100% a work of the Enemy! 
This is admittedly one of the pangs of the 
rapture to come but to say “God released 
Covid-19 to punish the world is Heresy! 
Those who do not know God can make 
such claims 
Traditional Idol worshippers can make 
such claims but not a believer! 
No way!
The church is the weapon of God on the earth 
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation 
through the church 
There will be no other “messenger” of repentance 
after Christ 
There will be no other message of repentance 
apart from the gospel 
Stop ascribing evil to Jehovah and Jesus
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter not the afflicter
Our God is a good God! 
The reason Covid-19 gained ground is because 
of all these teachings and assumptions that 
waters down the effect of the true gospel 
If you claim God brought Covid on people, 
then we shouldn’t bother trying to save or 
heal such people so as not to go against
God’s will 
No matter how much of a Christian you are, 
if you are sick you will desire to be healed 
Ascribing sickness to God, therefore, means 
your desire to be healed is against the will 
of God! 
What a skewed perspective! 
God desires that we prosper and be in health! 
God is love!
The Holy Spirit has told us to laugh in the 
face of this defeated foe 
And we are laughing and rejoicing because 
we have the victory in Christ! 
The worst-case scenario being touted will fail 
Coronavirus will peter out 
The sun of righteousness has risen with healing 
in His wings

The irony is, the average pastor today 
doesn't know the difference between 
Judaism & Christianity. 
They claim to be Christians, but they 
teach and practice Old Testament doctrines, 
so the flock doesn't know any better. 
God plagued Egypt, so He can plague the 
earth again they say. 
God once sent rain to destroy the earth. 
He can send Coronavirus to destroy it again, 
they conclude. 
All their examples from scripture make you
 realize these folks don't KNOW God. 
They know ABOUT Him, but they have no
 EXPERIENCE of Him, hence these submissions
It's unfortunate, but I've come to the conclusion 
that what we teach in our churches especially in 
Africa is NOT Christianity: 
It's just African Traditional Religion spiced 
with some scriptural doctrines & biblical customs. 
The pastor is the Babalawo, the Church Building 
is the Shrine
We simply modernised African Traditional Religion, 
the babalawo now wears suit and tie, holds a 
microphone, the shrine now has air-conditioner, 
wall to wall rug & perfect acoustics with music 
and dance. 
The EXTERNAL has been modernized. 
The INTERNAL is still very much the same
That is why those who attend these shrines 
say unashamedly, "God is angry & has unleashed 
Coronavirus on the earth to lead people to 
repentance"! Our pastors should be ashamed 
of themselves when they hear people say this, 
but they won't. They're simply 21st century 
babalawos.

Why did the Bible insist that only those who
Know their God shall be strong and do exploits?
Abraham knew His God, he was strong and he
did exploits
Moses knew His God, He was strong and he did
exploits
Joshua knew His God, He was Strong and He did
exploits
Peter knew His God, He was strong and he did
exploits
Paul knew his God, He was strong and He did exploits
St. John knew His God, He was strong and He did
exploits
The Pharisee knew only about God
The Children of Israel only knew about God
The Sadducees only knew about God
The High priest only knew about God
They all died like mere men because knowing Him
and knowing about Him are two very different
things!
I once had a pastor who claimed to have
been born again for many years
He would get on the altar and recount
tales of woe
Sometimes he would cry on the altar
He would say "I don't know why God is
bringing these troubles my way"
One Sunday, the last Sunday of 2018
He got on the altar and recounted the 
number of people who have died around
him in 2018
Total number was 25!
He said "We all walk in these dark realities!
We lose loved ones, lose jobs, fall into
depression, battle with unnamed sicknesses,
go through mood swings, moments of doubts
and hopelessness!
We often ask where our God is and why
he doesn't come to our rescue!
It is written that our God sits in the heavens
and laugh
It is also written that our God sits in the
heavens and does whatever he pleased
Can we question God?
Can we ask Him to do anything against his
will?
We are His sheep and He can do anything he
desires with us
He can slaughter us, he can take away our
hair and render us naked
He can do whatever he so desire
Is He not God?
What can we do but cry like Job
The thing we dreaded most has come back
to afflict us?
All we can do is ask for mercy
All we can do is cry and hope he will spare
us!
He concluded by saying "Even though he
slay me, yet will I serve him! I know that
my God is able to deliver me, but even if
he does not deliver, I will not bow! 
I will not go back to the world!
I will always follow this Jesus and
suffer like Paul and other apostles"
I had been listening to him preach and 
prayerfully hoping his eyes will open to
the truth
But that Sunday, i couldn't allow his madness
to infect the church!
He was not preaching the gospel
There was nothing "gospel" about that rubbish!
It was emotional and persuasive
But it was demonic and untrue
He didn't know His God
He didn't understand the gospel
He was in the church and yet Christ was 
not in Him!
But He was "Pastor"
I went to His office after the service
I told him he doesn't know anything about 
God or the gospel
He got offended
He called me so many names
It was not a good day at all
Weeks later, (January 2019) His son got sick
He somehow got infected with meningitis 
and was rushed home from school
By the time he got to the hospital, he was
in a coma
He was so sick that they had to defer his admission
and hope he would live
He had called all sorts of pastors and friends
to pray
But they all believe and preach the same thing
Their confessions were coming alive in their
lifetimes
They had preached gloom and are reaping doom!
Out of desperation, he called me
He called the "Heretic preacher whose
gospel was bread and butter"
He called Mr. God is Good who had turned
a blind eye on reality
He called the "Novice"
He called the one he referred to as "Zealous
without Knowledge"
I went to the hospital
I told him and his co-pastors to please
excuse me
Jesus did the same when he got to 
Jairus's  daughter's bedroom
I laid my hands on the young man
I sang of His love and His grace
I sang "Precious name O how sweet,
Hope of earth and Joy of heaven
Precious name, O how sweet, hope of
earth and joy of heaven"
It was the first thing that came to my
mind
Then I prayed for the healing and restoration
of the young man
Right there, the young man's colour began to
change!
Within an hour, he was out of the coma
Within three days, all the traces of meningitis
were gone
This Pastor was short of words
The next time I heard him preach
He said "Somebody can be anointed and yet
be walking in error"
He was referring to me
I was walking in error because my Gospel does
not agree with the theory that God is wicked
But because his son was healed, he conceded
that I was anointed!
WOW!
He still preaches what he believed to be the
truth
He still regards me as "Anointed but walking
in error"
I had since moved on in ministry
But his church members always reach out
to me for their spiritual needs
Whenever I visit his church, there will be
a crowd waiting for me to pray with them
I still wonder how he couldn't see that
the version of whatever he was preaching
was not effective
I still wonder...
Finally, If you are reading this and you still
see God and the "consuming fire", "The
destroyer" and the "Plague unleasher"
You are not a Christian!
The Word Christian was derived from Christ!
Christians are those who believe in Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ never released a plague, curse,
destroy, punish, kill or consume anybody
Rather than destroy the world, he died for the
world!
A Christian, therefore, believes in the gospel
and preaches this gospel by the power
of the Holy Spirit
The gospel is news too good to be true!
That God has forgiven all men and no longer
counts their sin against them
That we now live in the Son, filled with the
Holy Spirit and reign in life!
That is the gospel!
