She said “If you look at all the guys in this room, 
hardly would you find one who is not married or 
in a relationship!
Where was I then supposed to find my own man? 
I don’t want to break other people’s relationships 
and I don’t want to be a second wife to anybody!
I might date a married man but I cannot marry one!
They were seated together at the reception of an 
institution
He was the one that sought her out
They met the previous day briefly at a radio station
She was part of a group of young people on a live 
radio show which aired just before his own show
He listened to her contribution on the show
Her take on the extra-mundane intrigued him 
She was disillusioned about religion
She cited the case of a “Man of God” who 
was asking 
her out despite the fact that she was not a 
believer and the man was married
She talked about the evil she had seen or 
heard so-called “Men of God” or religious people do
She asked a question that caught his attention
She said “Nobody will protest if they see somebody 
reading the Bible in his shop but everybody will 
frown at seeing a man with an idol in his shop 
because such a man would be branded as evil 
or demonic! Why would the society not leave 
the individual to believe whatever he or she 
wanted freely without labeling anybody’s belief 
system as evil or good!
She made a logical sense
In the absence of spiritual enlightenment, 
every religion is the same
The idea is not novel
It was the undoing of many great kings and rulers 
that dotted the landscape of Biblical history 
It was the idea idolized human beings like 
Oprah Winfrey touted in the name of inclusiveness 
It was why Obama and Clinton couldn’t call 
“Christian worshippers killed during a church 
service in Sri Lanka” Christians and went for 
the politically correct ”Easter Worshippers”!
He wanted to engage her after her show
But his own show was starting right after her own. 
As she was leaving the studio, he said, 
“I wish I had time to practically show you the 
difference between Christianity and religion!
I wish I had the time!”
She smiled, shook her head and left!
When he got home that evening he 
wondered about her
How could someone so loved by God be so 
nonchalant about God
Was she judging God by the misdeed of certain 
men who are taking advantage of the grand 
delusion of the ignorant crowd to fleece them 
in the name of God
What did she know about God that made her 
so certain God should be parked off somewhere 
in the outer space and forgotten about?
The next morning he had an early morning appointment 
He woke up very early
He dressed quickly
As he was about to step out of the house, the Holy Spirit 
said, ”Go back and change your clothes!”
Wear exactly what you wore yesterday!
It was a very odd instruction 
He didn't go anywhere but that studio the previous day
He wore a white T-shirt and a pair of black jeans
He shrugged and changed!
Then he took out his phone to pick up Uber or Bolt
He tried and tried
The app kept saying there were no vehicles 
available at that moment
He eventually had to walk to the expressway 
He flagged down a taxi
The journey started
Then the Taxi driver suddenly shouted
”O God, I have to turn back! I have somebody’s keys
 with me and I have to return it”
That was when he realized something odd must
 be going on
God was up to something!
The taxi driver asked him if he could turn around 
and rush back to the taxi park to drop the key
He told the driver to drop him 
He didn't see any sense in missing his appointment 
because the taxi driver made a mistake 
The driver parked and started begging
”Please sir, let me quickly drop this key, I will make 
up for the lost time on the highway! I will drive as 
fast as I can”
He said no!
Then the driver checked his pocket and said 
”Sorry sir, I had dropped the key! 
The one in my pocket was the key to my house. 
I thought I still had the car keys of a fellow taxi 
driver with me”
The journey resumed!
But he smelled a serious rat
Delay at home with the change of clothes, delay 
in getting a vehicle to convey him and delay in the taxi!
What was God up to?
The rest of the journey was uneventful
They got to his destination at 8:20 AM
There was a queue
He joined it
Five minutes later, someone tapped him from behind
He looked and Yea! It was God’s plan
The same lady he met a the studio the previous day
She also came to transact some business at the same venue
Woah!
The lady said ”We met yesterday at the studio”
He got the plan immediately 
God wanted them to meet again
They got into the venue and he sought her out 
They talked 
She didn't know that God’s radar was deadlocked on her
She was still talking like a philosopher 
But He knew!
God wouldn't go through all that trouble if he didn't have 
something up his sleeve
He told her so
She laughed and said ”If you say so”
They talked about many things
Religion, relationship, education, morals, Biology
She was not in a relationship
She felt she had all the time in the world for one to 
happen and if it doesn't 
They made bets too
He told her she was going to marry a Christian
She said ”It is very likely”
She told him she was a very good person
He laughed at this
Nobody is good!
When you meet anyone who says he or she is good, 
that person is probably the worst person of all!
She disagreed!
She said she was probably the best person 
he had ever met!
He laughed!
What do you have against God? He asked her
She said ”Nothing! I acknowledge him but 
I don't make a big deal of ”God”.
He said ”Its like building an aquarium, putting fish 
in the aquarium and feeding the fish daily. 
Only for the fish in the aquarium to say 
”Well I don't make a big deal of the owner of the 
aquarium even though he made a home for me 
and feeds me every day! 
He is not a big deal! 
He told her he had met other people like her, 
just before the course of their lives shifted radically!
He told her he expected the same of her
They conducted their business
She waited for him 
He offered her a ride back to the mainland
She said she had made other arrangements 
He teased her
What arrangements?
She smiled and said “Its nothing like that! 
He offered to come and pick me and he is not 
getting anything in return”
He laughed
Why do ladies say that? Of course, she seemed 
determined not to give the ”nice guy” something in 
return but it doesn't always work out that way!
He laughed knowingly 
She said ”He is married”
He laughed!
That is what a good person does right?
or rather, that is what "The best person he has ever
met in his life would do!"
As he walked away from the venue
The Holy Spirit said "I have set her and her children
on a course of wonders, that was her "Samaritan woman"
moment!
In the next few years, the veiled shall be revealed
She is a major player in some of my plans which
are about to unfold"
Glory! Glory!! Glory!!!
That was the second time in his life he would
hear God make such a remark
The first time was when he was in the University
He was reading in the Library overflow when a lady
approached him for help
She was about to be withdrawn from the school
because of her woeful academic performance!
The lady had a certain reputation on campus
She was like the "school slut"
The one anybody can claim to have slept
with!
He was a born  again brother with a reputation
to keep
Being seen with such a sister has certain consequences
But she came to him anyway
She needed to make a C in two courses
Failure to do this would seal her fate
She didn't have a notebook, she didn't attend
classes, she didn't have any idea what the course
was all about!
She didn't even write the continuous assessment test
And nobody had the time to help her because
examinations were fast approaching!
She sat beside him and said "Brother So and So
please help me, just teach me these courses, I will pay
you whatever you want! Please help me to pass!"
His heart was very hardened at that stage of his
Christianity!
He thought evil must be punished and examples must
be made!
He told her he would not help her!
He gave her a lecture
"Do you know how many young men's lives you
have ruined with your "come and do" lifestyle?
Why would I want to keep the devil on campus?
The earlier they send you away from here the better!
I am preparing for my own papers, but even if I am not
I will never help you" He said
The lady was not only sleeping with everything
that can stick it in, she was also pimping other 
girls to her rich clients, taking them on trips to
sleep with politicians and fraudsters!
Her cup of sin was full!
God must be proud of him!
As the lady walked away in tears, The Holy Spirit
said "Call her back"
He quickly did!
The Holy Spirit said "Jeremiah 32"
He read it while the lady stood just beside him
After reading it, he got the message!
He told her to sit down and started coaching 
her
He coached her for two hours every day
Until she wrote the examination
She made Cs and eventually gave her life 
to Christ the following year
She is now happily married to a Pastor
and teaching teenagers in the way of the Lord!

PS: I usually wonder how God works
Having plans for unbelievers even before they
became believers
I know many believers who would love to know
with certainty that God has a big plan which
they would be a part of in the nearest future
I know many who have no idea whatsoever where
they fit into God's plan
I know we are all a part of his plan
But it is important to ask Him where you fit in
So that you can run your race with a focus
