Rescued

They were known as the descendants of the snake.

There are several families like them in their tribe.

The descendants of crocodiles, alligators, leopards, lions and so on.

Their ancestors negotiated pacts with extra-mundane powers

A covenant was made.

With strong rules and regulations guiding such pacts.

For the snake family, none of them could ever be harmed by a snake.

The animal was always faithful to the pact.

In return, they protect every snake.

None of them would ever kill or eat a snake.

It was simply a taboo!

Another condition was attached to marriage:

“They could not marry from the cat family, meaning ancestors of Jaguars, lion, leopard, Tiger and even domestic cats. They must bring their intending spouse (s) to the family shrine for traditional initiation, if this is not done the potency of the power of the covenant could be watered down and the children or their grandchildren could then be susceptible to attack from snakes and other benefits.

The most important protection they got from the pact was spiritual! The spirit of the snake was always with the family. It made them sense danger from afar, they could never ever die from food poisoning or any other type of poison even from other animals. They had the gift of dreams and could soothsay, they also had instinctive knowledge of people around them with sinister motives towards them.

If any of them broke the covenant or refused to keep to the terms of the covenant in anyway, such an individual would be warned severely in dreams and nightmares, and could ultimately be strangled to death in his sleep around the age of 40 to serve as a deterrent to others.

The family kept strictly to the pact and would never do anything to break it. They drummed it into the ears of all their children from generation to generation”

They met abroad.

Though they were both from different tribes, being from the same country drew them together. He didn’t tell his fiancée anything about the rituals required to be done by an outsider marrying into their family. Though he knew about it and was very keen on following tradition, he had discovered over the years how much of a repulsion it was for people who knew he still believed in such fetish things.

In this age and time!

His brothers taught him the trick.

Get her pregnant, promise to marry her in church but insist she must meet your family. Once she gets here, we will tell her about the little traditional right and the women would prepare her. Before you know it, it would have been done!

Her father was Reverend back home!

He was sure she would walk away if he even broached such a heathen topic!

They were live in lovers for seven years, they had three children. It was all rosy until he started fighting with snakes in the dream every other night. He told her what it meant and begged her to come to his village with him for the initiation.

She would have none of it!

He left eventually.

His life was on the line.

The elders of his family assured him she would come looking for him. The snake’s hold over the family knows no distance. “When her children starts having the dream, she will rush them here”

He waited for two years, she didn’t show!

He married another.

The children grew without their father. Her family rallied around her, they made sure she lacked nothing even though she was a medical doctor by profession.

The children also took to medicine, her first child became a surgeon, the second and third became medical doctors.

The children got married!

Had their own children!

Her first son died suddenly at the age of 39!

Nobody knew the cause.

He slept and was discovered to have died of cardiac arrest.

She remembered their father’s dreams and nightmares which eventually scared him out of her life, she remembered his warning which she took as superstitious nonsense!

She called her two other sons!

Have you guys been having any strange dreams of late?

They both said yes.

They were always struggling with snakes in their dreams.

She called her father.

It has started!

Her father reached out to other Christians!

What should I do?

Some said “Give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar and unto God what belongs to God”, go and do the ritual!’’

Some said ‘There is no harm in observing the traditional rites and custom of their father. Why cut short their life over something as petty as this?’’

Their father agreed

They contacted their father’s family

They were sent an enormous amount as fine for delaying the ritual and a list of things they had to provide for the ritual, the surviving children, their wives (including the wife of the deceased) and grandchildren were all to be initiated at once. Also their mother would have to be initiated too and marry their son as a second wife!

After much deliberation, they agreed!

They got to their country on the 12^th of October 2013.

The plan was to stay in her father’s house for two days and then take another flight to the eastern part of the country where the initiations would be done.

They had barely settled in when a young man in Jeans and T-shirt arrived. A friend of the Reverend told the Reverend about him. He was the Reverend’s last resort before “giving in to the demands of Caesar”

They told him the story.

He laughed!

2 Corinthians 6: 14 14Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership can righteousness have with wickedness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? 15What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will live with them

and walk among them,

and I will be their God,

and they will be My people.”b

17“Therefore come out from among them

and be separate, says the Lord.

Touch no unclean thing,

and I will receive you.”c

18And:

“I will be a Father to you,

and you will be My sons and daughters,

says the Lord Almighty.”

He read it aloud three times!

He turned to them!

I know you are all Christians, but I carry within me the fullness and the fire of the Holy Spirit. I am a life giving spirit!!!

Will you accept this Jesus whom I preach and be set free?

They all gave their lives to Jesus!

Right there!

He laid hands on them and they received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues!

They prayed

He told them they were free and encouraged them to keep the fellowship with the Holy Spirit strong individually and collectively by reading their bibles, praying in the spirit and fellowshipping with likeminded believers.

They are now life giving spirits.

That night, the snake shrine mysteriously caught fire in the village!

Everything was razed to ashes!

The dreams of torment stopped!

The atmosphere became clear!

They spent their time in their country like a vacation, visiting several tourist sites.

They returned abroad two weeks later.

PS: It’s been five years

All Hail King Jesus!

The families are growing larger and richer.

The venom of the evil one was totally eradicated!
