Stop Boxing the Holyghost In Superstition

Stop Boxing the Holyghost In Superstition

Lately, many things have entered the Church through the backdoor, especially African traditional beliefs, masked as spirituality. One of the most polluted areas is the obsession with dream interpretation.
Let’s be clear: There is no such ministry in the New Testament called “dream interpretation ministry.” The Holy Spirit is not trapped in dreams, nightmares, or spooky sleep encounters. Sadly, we now have churches where people queue up just to narrate dreams to "interpreters."
That’s not New Covenant reality; that’s tradition wrapped in fear. It’s the natural man’s response when confused by dreams or nightmares; they run to someone they think understands better. But is that God’s way?
Look at the Bible: In the Old Testament, it was mostly pagan kings who had dreams they couldn't interpret, Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, etc. It took God’s people (Joseph, Daniel) to bring interpretation.
But even then, did God’s covenant people (like Israelite kings) need others to explain dreams to them? Not at all. Even King Saul, as messed up as he became, never needed a dream interpreter. Why? Because God never built dependence on spooky interpretation.
What About Us Today? You have the Holy Spirit inside you. If a dream or vision is truly from God, you won’t need a third party to decode it. The same Spirit who gave the dream can explain it to you plainly, peacefully.
Don’t be deceived. If a dream requires external interpreters before you understand it, check again: It might not be from God. Or your mind is simply not renewed. What If It’s a Nightmare? Discard it. Don’t meditate on it. Don’t panic. Don’t call 10 prophets.
The devil is a master of deception; he knows how to play on fear using scary dreams. Nightmares only gain power when you give them attention and start thinking them into manifestation. You don't fight such attacks by shouting or by emotional panic. You win with spiritual weapons.
Such as: God’s Word (Truth), Prayer, Revelation, knowledge, Faith in Christ’s finished work. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God...” — 2 Corinthians 10:4. You don’t win because you scream louder. You win because you think like Christ.
Renewed Mind = Victory. The devil’s first attack is on your belief system, not your body. Once he corrupts your mind, he’ll use fear, culture, and tradition to twist how you see God. “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind...” — Romans 12:2
When your mind is not renewed: You call what is holy “evil.” You resist what God is trying to show you. You become bound in spiritual paranoia. Someone dreams they’re in a river, and suddenly: “Marine spirit!” “Backwardness!” “Covenant!”
But in Scripture, Ezekiel was by the river when heaven opened. Jesus was baptized in a river. Revelation 22 speaks of a river from God’s throne. So how can water always mean evil? That’s not discernment, that’s mental corruption.
What Should Believers Do? Renew your mind with God’s Word. Learn how God speaks, through types, symbols, and biblical patterns. Stop letting fear interpret your experiences. Let the Holy Spirit and Scripture be your lens. A corrupted mind will label God’s presence as demonic.
But a renewed mind will discern His voice, even in dreams. Not all dreams come from God, but you don’t need to fear or judge them. If it's from God, the Holy Spirit inside you will give understanding. You’re not called to depend on “dream interpreters.”
Renew your mind, and stop filtering everything through fear. Discern with Scripture, not superstition. Recognize the truth in God’s Word. Judge every dream or thought by the Word of God. Identify the lie and reject it. Replace it with truth. Repeat this daily.
Remain Blessed.
