The Fixer

Immediately she found out she
was pregnant
She went to meet him at the
male hostel to inform him
She knew he wasn't going to
want her to keep the baby
She didn't want to keep the
baby too
She didn't even know why she
was sleeping with him
It was a case of familiarity
that went sour
She was less than five feet
tall and had always desired
to date and be with a tall
guy
He was barely taller than her
Her boyfriend was six feet tall
He was all her heart desired
He was the one she gave her
virginity to
He loved her with all his heart
and she knew it
They parted ways when she
got admitted into the Polythecnic
He was a student in the federal
University
She used to hang out with him
all the time before she gained
admission
They were inseparable
She had hoped she would be
admitted to the same school
with him
But she missed the cut off mark
for the course she chose to study
and found herself settling for
another school entirely
The separation hit her badly
That was the loophole that
led to her indiscretion
She needed somebody to talk
to
Somebody to be friends with
His hostel was located a few
buildings away from her 
rented room
He was in her department and
they became friends
He would come around to
visit her in the evenings
and they would talk and play

wouldn't dare introduce to 
anybody in her life
He spoke to her as if she
was a slut, as if she was
sleeping with every male
student on campus!
She knew he would make a
scene and embarrass her
It was the last thing she
desired
She didn't want to be made
a laughing stock in the male
hostel
Contrary to popular opinion,
men do gossip!
She left him without saying
another word
She needed to take care of
the pregnancy
She couldn't keep the baby
She didn't have a penny to
get an abortion
She decided to go to her
boyfriend and confess
She needed to make things
right.
By 5AM the next morning she
was on the bus to her boyfriend's
school
She didn't call him
They had to talk face to face
When she got to his school, he
was just dressing up for class
He lived in Agbowo, opposite
the University of Ibadan
He rented a room there
He was shocked to see her
She was in tears
She told him how much she
missed him
He held her and started kissing
her
She wanted to speak but...

They kissed and somehow
their clothes grew wings
She was nine weeks pregnant
and he didn't know!

How come he had no idea?
He just went about the business
of sleeping with her with all
his strength
She enjoyed the sex

her more sensitive and easily

When they were done,
he dressed up and rushed out
He said he was late for class
and would see her later in the
evening
She just nodded and slept
An hour later, she started
rehearsing what to tell him
She couldnt envisage a scenario
in which he would say
"I understand, i still love you"
She didn't want to fool herself
The relationship was dead
The wise thing to do would be
to walk away with her dignity
intact
She still needed the money
She started searching his room
All his jeans trousers, his table
drawer, his books, everywhere
After twenty minutes, she hit
a jackpot
She found some money in the
inner pocket of his blazers
She took what she needed
and left
She went straight to the abortion
clinic located about seven 
minutes drive from his hostel
She paid and was processed in
The deed was done within an
hour
She was given her antibiotics
and other drugs
Her plan was to get on a bus
and return to school
But her legs were wobbly
She needed to sleep
She decided to return to her
boyfriend's room
She would tell him she was on
her period
She needed to sleep and rest
She got a taxi and made it to
his room
She had barely opened his door
when she collapsed
The neighbours heard the crash
and called for help
Somehow somebody assumed
she was a student of the 
University
She was rushed to the school's
clinic
Her boyfriend came down to
the clinic later that evening
He was told she had complications from an abortion
She was referred to UCH for
urgent surgery
Her uterus was damaged and
she was bleeding badly
He was told the cost implication
of her treatment owing to the
fact that she was not a student
He paid and stood as her next
of kin as she was treated
In all, she spent ten days in
the hospital
The doctors told her she was
lucky to be alive
They also told her they had
removed her womb
It was the only way to save
her life
Her boyfriend assumed he was
the one who got her pregnant
and it was in a bid to protect
him from having to bear the
responsibility for her and the 
baby that she had the abortion!
He just assumed
He assumed
She knew it was wicked of her
to keep quiet but she did!
She just let him assume
At least she would be with
somebody and not have to die
alone for her silly decisions.
She returned to school and
completed her studies
Her boyfriend graduated too
He married her!
He was a virgin when they
met and she was the only
person he ever had sex with
all his life
He was loyal and faithful
The best kind of man
They got married in 2008
He was working with a 
multinational
and they lived in Malaysia 
for four years
Then they moved to Qatar
and lived there for another
four years
In 2017, they were together
at the end of the year party
of his company when he got
the phone call that his father
had died
They returned to Nigeria in
January 2018
The burial was to take place
at her husband's home town
While at home her husband 
planned to buy a property
and do some other things
She was told to call estate 
agents and make inquiries
She got to work
She gave her husband the
phone numbers of the agents
to the houses she liked
Her husband got on it 
immediately
The burial was a success
Two weeks later her husband
closed the deal on the house
A week later, her husband told
her he would like them to
visit her parents
When they got to her parents
house, her husband sat
everybody down and told
a remarkable story!
In short, the estate agent
was the Midget!
The guy who got her pregnant
He had seen her husband
several times when he came
to see her on campus
They never spoke to each other
They had no reason to
Somehow when her husband
got to the building, the midget
recognized him and became
familiar

school and how she got

Her husband was livid

Her parents were looking at her

It was youthful exuberance

a faithful wife for ten years.
She couldn't quite understand
why her husband was angry

for an excuse to misbehave

She called and called
She sent mails

She called friends and 
relatives
It took a year to hear from
him
He sent her a divorce notification
in January 2019
That was all
One month later, he surfaced

He was married and his wife
was pregnant
The door of hope was slammed
shut in her face
She decided to commit suicide
it was the only door open to
her
She hated her life

nothing seemed able to put
her life together again

down!
She understood what he
was saying
She gave her life to Christ and
got filled with the Holy Spirit
She started preaching the
gospel to those she met on
a daily basis!
Out of the blue, a man picked
some interest in her
He was into quarry business
and was widowed three years
before
His wife died giving birth to
their only child
She told him everything
He understood and told her
he loved her
They got married in June 2019
Today, 9th May 2020, she called
the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
It was the most unexpected turn
in the scheme of things
She had confirmed that she was 
twelve weeks pregnant!
Somehow, she had a womb again!
Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
