A NEW DAWN
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. - Isaiah 43:19.
A lot is happening, and much more is about to happen, through the Church of Jesus Christ. We’re getting closer to the return of the Lord Jesus and we’re entering into a new phase of the Church’s ministry on the earth; a greater dimension of the glory of God in the earth beyond what the Church has known. There’s a release of mighty angels of God into the earth. This is a class of angels that haven’t been in the earth before. They’ve been released into the earth for work in these last days because the time is short. The world is about to witness greater signs and wonders, because of the angelic manifestations and the angelic support that God’s people would experience in these latter days. Be expectant and ready. It’s a new phase altogether, and by revelation, God is letting us know the season we’re now in. It’s like what happened in Bible days. In Joel 2:28, the Lord had said, “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy….” Years after, this prophecy came to pass, but the people didn’t know. They received the outpouring of the Spirit on the day of Pentecost, but they didn’t know what was going on. But Peter explained it to them as he was inspired (Acts 2:13-16). Likewise, by the inspiration of the Spirit, we know that the Church has entered into a new phase of the supernatural, a new phase in the move of the Spirit. In this new phase, we’re witnessing the demonstration of the Spirit and power as read in our theme verse. Be committed, therefore, to the spread of the Gospel like never before. Be afire and influential for the Gospel; let it be all that matters to you, and you’ll see the manifestations of the supernatural in your life and in all that concerns you. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit do the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:5-6). The Lord Jesus had a spirituality that was unmistakable. He was very spiritual. For example, in Matthew 16:17, even while responding to Peter’s answer to a question He (Jesus) had asked, He dealt with the spiritual nature of what Peter said. Jesus had asked the disciples, “Whom do men say that I am?” Peter answered correctly, and Jesus replied, “… Blessed art thou, Simon Bar Jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” Peter didn’t know that it was God who gave him the revelation; he just spoke as it was in his heart. But Jesus immediately addressed the spirituality of his answer. He let Peter know that his answer didn’t come to him by his flesh or senses; it wasn’t from his study. Also, consider how He taught His disciples to pray in Matthew 6:9 when He gave them a format for prayer. He said, “Our Father which art in heaven….” He talked about the Father in heaven. The spirituality of His communication is so inspiring. Even at His arrest, He said to the soldiers and the priests who came to arrest Him, “…this is your hour, and the power of darkness” (Luke 22:53). He let them know what power was behind their actions—the power of darkness. He dealt with the spirituality of every subject. This is how He wants us to live. There are some who think that being spiritual is excessive, but to live or do things any other way is death. When you’re motivated to do something, always consider whether your motivation is coming from God, from the flesh, or even Satan. You can tell by the Spirit and through the Word.
Understanding the spirituality of life is where the victory in life really is. That’s where life’s purpose actually resides. You’ve got to connect your life with that which is spiritual. Whether or not you realize it, you came from the Spirit. God made you and God is a Spirit. So, your origin is spiritual. Therefore, always be spiritually minded. Walk wisely. The Bible tells us to walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16). Your consciousness should be spiritual. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). There’s a spirit world that’s greater than this physical world. The physical world is a region or part of the spirit world. The Bible says God is a Spirit, and He created all things; meaning that there’s a spirit connection to everything that God made. Nothing is detached from Him. In the realm of the spirit, He created a region for the physical man, even though man himself is a spirit being. God gave man a physical body to live in, while in the physical region of His spiritual world. The earth isn’t a separate entity from God’s realm. Remember, in Genesis 1:2, the Bible says the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. The Spirit of God incubated over the chaotic mass, which means the earth was within the coverage or reach of the Spirit, and governed by the Spirit. Many, because they don’t realize this, and because they haven’t understood the importance of it, limit their lives to the earthly region of this world. They don’t realize that there’s a greater play in the spirit world. For every one of us that’s born again, the Bible tells us to walk in the Spirit. How do you walk in the Spirit? It’s walking in the light of God’s Word; walking according to Kingdom principles. Become conscious that you live in, and are from another realm, a heavenly realm that’s greater than this world. That consciousness will put you over the elements, failures, frustrations, darkness, and corruption in this physical world. Life is spiritual, and we live in two worlds. But most people, every day, are only conscious of the physical realm. This is why many go through pain and affliction; victims of incurable diseases, because they’re unable to control life from the spirit. The Bible says you’re in the world, but not of the world. You’re born after Christ, the man from heaven; you bear the image of the heavenly. You’re from the Kingdom of God’s Love Son. Hallelujah! And in that Kingdom, we play by divine principles; the strategies and weapons of our warfare are not of this world (2 Corinthians 10:4). We reign by grace through righteousness, and we prevail with, and through the Word. Hallelujah!
Scripture: Lamentations 2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children… Another mystery revealed to us in the Word is a secret about prayer that God’s people need to understand. In Lamentations 2:19, we see a situation where the people needed deliverance for their children. Observe that the prophet didn’t just say “Cry out”; rather, he said, “Arise, cry out in the night….” There was a specificity; it had to be at night. There’s something about praying in the night. Even though He didn’t say you should pray every night, there are specific times when the Holy Spirit will lead you to pray in the night; that’s why walking with the Spirit is so important. Night here isn’t just 9 pm or 10 pm; it’s the wee hours of the morning, at the beginning of the watches, that’s after 12 midnight. Notice what He tells you to do at that time of the night: “…pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord…” (Lamentations 2:19). This is no casual prayer; you pour out your heart before God. Then, what else? “Lift up thy hands toward Him for the life of thy young children.” Some parents have faced situations where a child had become wayward or errant, delinquent and unruly, ensnared by the devil. Don’t stand by helplessly, as if you can’t bring about a change in that child’s life; deal strongly in prayer and deliver your son or daughter. Get up at midnight and pray! Use this secret of prayer that I’m sharing with you now. Lift up your hands and pray that child back into the will of God. Declare that he or she is turned away from the world’s influences, drawn to the Word, and inspired by the things of the Kingdom. Declare that Satan has nothing in your child and that henceforth, the visions of the Spirit will be kindled in the heart of that child, imbuing him or her with the boldness and courage to fulfill divine purpose with joy. Perhaps it’s sickness or disease that has taken hold of that child; you must deliver that child in prayer. Pray this way and the Lord will intervene in the situation and restore the child to perfection. The instruction is for you to pour out your heart and lift up your hands toward God at night. This is how you take charge and bring deliverance to your children. Hallelujah!
