She told them the only reservation she had before 
handing over the keys to the apartment
She said she didn't want a pastor
She had nothing against the Christian faith
She was a non-christian
But she attended Christian schools while growing up
and had a great relationship with her Christian
friends
When she finished her Secretarial studies and was applying
for a job, it was one of her Christian friends that helped
her secure a job in the police force!
She was employed as the secretary and had a very rewarding
career as a result
To her, the human heart is better than any religion!
Her Father was a very religious man
As a result, she had her religious path defined for her
She followed the path until it became a way of life
But she was not a religious fanatic
She believed there is good and evil in all men
She also believed in God
The pastor who vacated the apartment moved in with
his wife and four children
She was the landlord!
Before she could say "Jack Robinson", the pastor had
packed in over twenty people into the three bedroom
flat
They littered the compound, made a lot of noise and 
were a constant menace to the compound
The most annoying thing was their prayer hour
at 9 pm every day"
They made a lot of noise!
They also held noisy night vigils with a lot of shouting, 
singing, drumming and screaming
It was as if their god was a deaf mute!
She called him and had a heart to heart talk with him
But instead of taking her warnings seriously
He adopted the "Witches are angry" disposition!
He told his wife and other relatives living in the house
that their prayers were affecting the witches and
the witches were complaining!
They intensified the noise and added new warfare songs
She decided that day that their tenancy would be over as
soon as their rent expires! 
She would simply refuse to renew the agreement!
And that was what she did!
Their rent expired, she refused to grant them 
rent extension
After some time they moved out!
In all, they spent three years in the apartment
She was really sorry she rented out the apartment 
to the pastor
He made a mess of the house and didn't bother to
fix any of the stuff that was destroyed by use, wear 
and tear or deliberately
She made a decision never to give her apartment
out to pastors again
It seemed the people who were expected to be
great examples are actually bad examples
She was very disappointed!
It took her time and a lot of money to get the 
apartment back in shape
The agents brought many would be tenants
But her heart wasn't at peace with any of them until
she saw them
A young couple with a two-year-old son
Both of them had great jobs and the issue of rent
would not be a problem
They also assured her that they wouldn't manufacture
relatives and turn the three bedroom flat into a 
caravan tent after moving in!
They moved in a week later!
A month after they moved in the young new tenant
came to see her
He told her about Jesus and the need for her to 
be saved
She laughed it off!
She told him about her strange relationship with
Christianity and Christians since childhood and
how she didn't see religion as anything but the
opium of the masses!
"Religions are all the same! 
They are a brainwashing technique of subjugation!
She told him about her husband
A very religious man who threw her out of his home
ten years after they got married because 
she couldn't have a child! 
Although he had a right to marry many wives according 
to their religion, the younger wife he wanted to marry 
didn't want to share him with her and since she was
already pregnant she had the most precious 
bargaining chip!
Religion didn't protect her!
Her saving grace was the house she had built while
under his roof!
She moved into the house and the other flats became 
her source of livelihood!
She had seen it all and for her, there is nothing worth
exploring in religion, either the one she was born in
or the one he was selling!
Then he asked her about the cough!
She developed the coughing problem during the only
pilgrimage trip she did!
Perhaps it was the cold or the weather, the cough
refused to stop
She had been coughing on and off for sixteen years!
He told her he could heal her in the name of Jesus
She said NO!
She would rather have the sickness than be tricked
into accepting a faith she doesn't want at the age 
of 72!
The cough was usually terrible in the rainy season 
because of the cold
She would cough sometimes for hours
Sometimes all night
Sometimes all day and night
She knew death was gradually knocking on the door
All she would have was her works and deeds
One night, she saw him, the young man in her room,
by her bedside at 1 AM! He was covered in light!
He touched her chest and said "In Jesus name, be healed"
She slept off instantly!
When she woke up, she felt goose pimples all over her body
Something had happened to her body
The heaviness and blockages were gone
She was breathing normally
Something supernatural had happened and she knew it
She sent for the young man
She told him what she saw and how she had mysteriously 
stopped coughing
The young man nodded and said "As I was praying around
1 AM yesternight, I felt the presence of God in my room!
God was trying to talk to me but you were coughing badly
I couldn't concentrate properly
The cough was too distracting
So I asked the angel of the Lord to take care of the cough
The angel left for split second and immediately
you stopped coughing
Then he came back and gave me the instructions he had for me
Landlady: Wow! What does the angel look like?
He: The angel looks like me, Ma. Exactly like me!
Landlady: Wow! Jesus is wonderful!

PS: The event happened in November 2018 
The landlady will be celebrating her 80th Birthday
on August 17th, 2019
She had not coughed for a second since the incidence
She rented the apartment next to her upstairs
to another Christian and allowed him to host house
fellowship
She said she has seen the difference between "Pastor"
and "Christian"
One lived in her house and labeled her a witch
even mocked her when she was coughing, claiming the
fire of the Holy Spirit was burning the witch!
The other offered her Christ, she said no and yet
she was healed!
By their fruits, you shall know them!
