The very day she realised she had gotten pregnant
She realised her mother's pastor's prophecy had come to pass in her life
The man had told her mother the day she turned 18 that he saw her carrying an unwanted pregnancy
Her mother called her later in the night for a mother-daughter discussion
Her mother begged her
Please, dont disgrace me
Please, dont embarrass me
Please, dont drag your Father's name in the mud
If you have become sexually active
You need to learn how to close your legs now
Dont let this prophecy come to pass over your life
Dont ruin your life by getting pregnant at this point in your life
You are still a young lady
You are just 18
You have your life ahead of you
You will have as much sex as you ever wanted until you are tired of it
You will also give birth to your own children at the right time
Please, keep away from sex
Focus on your education and graduate at the right time
It is better to be ushered into marriage with joy and singing than to be a single mother
She promised her mother she would face her studied
She was also determined to do
But her boyfriend wouldnt hear it
When she told him, he didnt argue with her
He told her he understood and they smiled and laughed together over it
She wasnt quite prepared for the speed at which he parked her aside
One minute they were all lovey-dovey 
The next he had gone incommunicado 
He actually blocked her line somehow
whenever she calls, his line would ring twice and then she would be cut off
She was beside herself with worry
He had left her
How could he dump her like that
Her resolve lasted only a week
She carried herself!
Body, soul and spirit to his flat in the early morning of the following Saturday
He was still in bed when she got to his house
He let her in without a word and promptly went back to bed
She sat watching him for a few minutes
She had a lot in her mind she wanted to say
But she knew he would listen to her, nod his head and she would still be frozen out of his life
She loved him too much for that
Couldn't they do without sex and still love each other?
He opened his eyes and reached for her
That was it!
He didnt say a word!
She was the one taking off her clothes and offering herself to him
He had her key! 
He knew it!! 
She knew it!! 
Why pretend?
Few weeks later, she was pregnant!
He was very willing to take responsibility
She didnt want a baby
She had an abortion
Nobody knew it but them!
That same semester, he wrote his MBBS examination and failed woefully
She wrote her examinations too and failed woefully
Suddenly it felt as if the sun had been deliberately hidden from them
They couldnt find mercy, favour, goodness and joy anymore
Her parents suddenly stopped relating to her like they used to
It was as if something told them to hate her!
It wasnt any better for him
His father dabbled into politics and lost out badly incurring a lot of debts
They told each other it was God's way of punishing them for their actions
They started a new session, her name was suddenly missing from the list of students in her class
She couldnt find her matriculation number and practically every trace of her previous two years on campus disappeared
She was told to go to the Dean, directed to the HOD, sent to the Student Affairs department
She found herself in admissions, examinations and records, digital room
All the while lectures had resumed and she couldnt afford to fail!
Her boyfriend's case was worse
He just fell ill
The illness was a mysterious one
Hypertension!
He was just 22!
She decided it was time they appease God
He must be very angry with them and they need not pretend about it anymore
She reached out to the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
She: Sir, How can you help me to beg God? I have offended him and He is really dealing with me
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt listened to her
He started laughing
He: God does not do all those things you are talking about
She: I am telling you sir, God is flogging me and my boyfriend
He: No and I will prove it
She: How?
He: What is the time?
She: 9.45 AM
He: By 12 noon, your name would be found and your studentship status will be validated, 
    as we speak your boyfriend is being discharged from the hospital and your parents will call you again with a good news
She: But I have not prayed for forgiveness of sins
He: Since you did the abortion, have you ever asked God to forgive you?
She: I do so everyday but I have not done so with a Man of God who can supervise me and help me talk to God
He: That is not necessary! You have been forgiven! He let me pray with you
He blessed her, told her her sin had been forgiven and the tide has turned, they prayed in the spirit over the phone for an hour
That same day, everything he said came to pass
Her matriculation number was skipped in the dititalization process of the school and it wa corrected
Her boyfriend was discharged
Her parents came to the campus later that day with her provisions and allowance
The burden of guilt, pain, sorrow, shame and depression was lifted
A week later, she called him
She: My Pastor, i dont know what to say, you turned everything around
He: No! You turned everything around! You didnt expect to be forgiven even after you asked for forginess
You punished yourself by withdrawing your fellowship with God because you were caught in error
No matter what you do or how you do it as a believer
Your fellowship with God must never be broken
A broken fellowship attracts demonic activity
An unbroken fellowship leaves no room for the devil
He: So when are you planning to sleep with your boyfriend again?
She: (Laughs) Sleep? Even he does not want anything to do with sex for now, we have both learnt our lessons the hard way

Even though I now agree that God wasnt punishing us, our actions gave the devil the license to afflict us
 Things just got better, we have learnt our lesson
 I study the book of John daily, pray in the spirit for an hour everyday and make sure my fellowship with God was not broken!
