She had to sit herself down
to make a very tough decision
Once she had made the decision
and allowed it to settle with her
She took another week
She wanted to be sure her parents
would see her resolve and be 
convinced the decision she made
was what she considered to be
the best decision for her
She was residing in New Jersey
Her parents were living in New York
Her father was a neurosurgeon
Her mother was a nurse with over
thirty years experience on
the job both in Nigeria and in
America
She was sure they would understand!
She had a health condition she 
had battled with since she was 15
It was the condition that made her
parents relocate to America with
her!
She was an only child!
Her mother had to wait thirteen years
to have her
The doctors detected that an infection her
mother had as a child which went untreated
was responsible for her infertility
Her parents had to settle for surrogacy 
Her mother was forty when she was born
Her father was forty-three
They had both been married for thirteen
years
When she was fifteen and didn't see
her period
Her parents became very concerned
She was tested for everything
She was treated for everything
The blood refused to flow
Her father decided to relocate with
the family the following year
He had his private hospital at the time
He sold everything
He wanted her to get the best medical
treatment money could buy
She didn't start getting the treatment
until she was seventeen
Even then, there was no improvement
She graduated and got a good job
She didn't bother herself with dating
or courting the attention of any man
She didn't feel like a wife or girlfriend
The change of environment also had
its impact
it took her some time to adjust
When she graduated, she had to travel
back to Nigeria for her NYSC
That was when she met the guy
A dashing young graduate of
The University of Maiduguri who seemed
unable to understand the meaning of
"Keep off"!
He was funny, witty, dashing and had 
his eyes trained on her!
He was from a Christian family
His family was from the North
He was a graduate of Architecture 
His father was also a very successful 
architect
His family lived in Minna
She really liked him
She was twenty-three
He was Twenty-five
He was her handbag
She was his necktie
They met at the orientation camp
She was trying to climb some ropes 
and he took the time to walk over
to her and encourage her
He also bought her a bottle of water
She thought he was only being kind
Until he engaged her
His eyes assessing and probing her
generously shaped anatomy
That was when she sensed what
he was in for
She didn't see any harm in it
She figured she would be in Nigeria
for about a year
Why not have some fun?
That was how they started
He made sure she was posted to
his father's company for the NYSC
She worked with the Human Resources
department
He was sent to a secondary school
in a rural area to teach
But he always returned home every 
weekend
He called her every day
Somehow he made himself a the
beat of her heart
He became a "Must be with"
She didn't realize it until the weekend
he couldn't make it back from his
place of assignment due to the 
bad weather
She was miserable
Looking at the door every minute 
like a lost puppy
She was in love
Her health condition didn't seem
to matter
She just went with the flow
When she finished her NYSC
She went back home
They promised to keep in touch
But then he showed up in New Jersey
He had somehow conveniently gained
admission to the State University of
New York
The relationship got serious, very serious
He met her parents
She had to let them know how much
of a help, he was when she went for
the NYSC
He completed his masters
He took her to dinner
He proposed!
She lost her composure
She didn't say yes or no
She just ran as far as her legs could
carry her away from the restaurant!
She loved him with all her heart
But he was proposing to become a
part of her life-long problem!
Love does not do that to a beloved!
She would have been his lover,
his mistress, his friends with benefit
but not his wife!
A wife is expected to become a mother
and she would never be one!
She didn't go to her apartment
She switched off her phone
She lodged in a hotel and called in
sick at her office
She needed time, she needed space!
Her phone rang off the hook
Her mother, her father, Him...
She sent them a message to give her 
some time
She made her decision
When she got to her parent's house
She told them what happened
She also told them she had decided
never to get married!
Her parents were hurt by her decision
but they understood that it is her life
Later that evening, she met with
him at another restaurant
She told him her medical history
She told him she had never had her
menstruation!
Not once!
She told him she had decided not
to get married
He listened and then he started 
laughing!
He told her he would marry her
It was the one thing wanted
He was convincing
She wanted to be convinced
She loved him so much
Plus there are many options they
could explore to have their own children
He proposed again, she said yes!
Within a year they were married
They settled in New Jersey and built
a great life
Then he changed!
She noticed he started coming home
late, disappearing for chunks of time
during the day and drawing away from
her
She tried to call his attention to the
changes
He acted all dumb about them
But her intuition was on fire
She told a friend
The friend told her about the Brother
in Jeans and T-shirt
She called
They talked!
She gave her life to Christ and
was filled with the Holy Spirit
They prayed
The brother in Jeans and T-shirt
told her to talk to her body every day
using the name of Jesus
He also sent her some scriptures to
read aloud daily
She got pregnant a month later
She didn't know it
What she noticed was the turn in
the direction her husband was heading!
He started behaving responsibly again
Her weight gain was what took her
to the hospital three months later
The doctors ran their tests
She was confirmed pregnant
She could barely contain her joy
When she told her husband
He fell on his knees with joy
He told her he wanted to speak with
the brother in Jeans and T-shirt
He called
He was grateful and wanted to get rid
of his guilt
He confessed that at a point he strayed
He started sleeping with a single mother
he met at work
It was the woman's child that attracted
him to her
He loved his wife but he wanted children
too
He said the lady suddenly told him to stop
coming around for no reason
He had been feeling very bad since that
time
He said he wanted to give his life to Jesus
wash away the guilty stains
They prayed together
He got baptized with the Holy Spirit 
over the phone
The Holy Spirit watered and kept the baby
The baby was delivered by cesarean session
on Friday, 13th December 2019

PS: John 1: 11 He came unto his own, 
and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, 
to them gave he the power to become 
the sons of God, even to them that 
believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, 
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the 
will of man, but of God.

Many of us look to blood and the will
of the flesh when it comes to our
health! 
Waiting mothers are especially 
disappointed when they see their
period (Blood) at that time of the 
month!
But if you are born again,
you are born of God!
Not only in the spirit but also in the
flesh!
Blood has nothing to do with the
life of God in you!

Romans 8: 11 The Spirit of Him who raised 
Jesus from the dead lives in you, 
He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead 
will also give life to your mortal bodies 
through His Spirit, who dwells in you.
