Fearful

Sometimes we are too timid to do what must be done
We are afraid of the very thing that we ought not be afraid of
As believers, we have conquered death in Christ
Why then are believers tormented by the thought of dying?
As if heaven is not infinitely a better place than here!
They are scared because they do not understand what fear means
Fear is a very strong weapon of the enemy
He preys on it because it renders people powerless
Look at the book of 1 Samuel 17
What were the children of Israel and Saul scared of?
Was it really Goliath?
No!
They wouldn't be scared of Goliath if they were immortals
They were scared of Goliath because he was an agent of death!
They were scared of Death!
A new born baby wouldn't be scared of Goliath!
A baby does not understand death!
Only those who understand death are scared of death!
The spirit of the first Adam understood death
But the second Adam had defeated death forever
The second Adam is alive forever
He who knows this and walks in this consciousness can never be tormented by the enemy
How do you kill somebody who cannot die?
Many of us hold on to our own spirit in one hand and the Holy Spirit in the other
We find ourselves speaking in tongues in one breath and tormented in another breath
We pour forth both bitter and sweet water from the same fountain
We express our fear and our faith all at once
Demons capitalize on one and the Holy Spirit manage the other
He becomes a hybrid!
There was an argument once
Can the Holy Spirit and a demon reside in one person?
No!
Can a spirit filled believer be afflicted by demonic powers?
Yes!
How?
By lack of knowledge!
The reality of a believer is highly dependent upon his or her knowledge of Christ
You shall KNOW the truth and The Truth (You know) shall set you free!
She became born again at the age of 17
She didn't plan it
In fact she was not a church person in any way
She slept at home that Sunday morning until 10.00am
When she woke up, she realised her room mate had locked the cupboard and taken the key to church
She was very hungry
At first she wanted to wait until her roommate returned from church before eating
But the hunger was not patient
She eventually decided to go to the church and get the key from her roommate
She got to the church right after they shared the benediction
Her roommate was standing on the altar speaking with someone
She touched her roommate on the shoulder
She couldn't explain what happened afterwards
She fell on her knees, crying and shaking
"Save me! Save me, Save me!!!"
She knew what she was doing
She was conscious of everything
She suddenly felt a strong dread in the depth of her soul
The pastor prayed with her
He led her to Christ
Then and Only then did she get some peace in her heart
She joined the believers class immediately
Three months later, she was baptised!
It was a divine encounter!
She was also filled with the Holy Spirit right from the day she gave her life to Christ
She prayed in tongues and started walking in several gifts of the Holy Spirit
She considered her roommate a spiritual giant
Somebody she touched briefly on the shoulder and she got arrested like that
To her her roommate was her "Mother" in the Lord
Even though they were both age mates
Her roommate was studying Mass Communication while she was studying Agriculture
They were both first cousins and they looked very much alike
Two years after she became born again, her roommate met her husband-to-be
He was also a Christian from the same fellowship
They courted for three years and eventually decided to get married
The bride's family presented their engagement list
The groom's family satisfied it
Then the bride's family presented a special item
A live goat that must be offered to a family deity for the couple to be blessed
The groom kicked!
No way!
The bride kicked!
No way!
The groom's family kicked!
No way!
The bride's family insisted!
"This is our tradition in our house, as long as you want to marry our daughter you must perform it"
It dragged on and on
The bride's family quoted all the repercussions of not carrying out the sacrifice
They talked about barrenness, plague, untimely death and so on
Eventually somebody quoted a scripture "Give unto caesar what belongs to caesar!"
Do it for the sake of peace
Will anybody force you to worship the idol after you are married?
Deliberations went back and forth
Pastors preached and concluded traditions must be respected
They did it
The wedding was done
They asked the Lord for forgiveness!
It was while the storm over the "special item" was still raging that she met her husband
She overheard him talking to someone
He said "He was a new creature, he would never ever pay it, he would rather walk away"
She liked his guts and the fact that he was so cocksure of his faith
She engaged him in the conversation about performing such rites as a believer
They talked and talked
One thing led to another
Within a year, wedding bells started ringing
Her family presented the same engagement list
Her husband's family complied
When her family presented the special item list for sacrifice
Her husband said NO!
She told her family NO!
They warned them of the repercussions
They cited examples of pastors, prophets, priests and kings who defied the deity
They claimed all of them came back begging or faced the repercussion
She laughed them off
The family priest left in anger
The traditional marriage rite was thus concluded
She had her church wedding
Three months later she was pregnant
She had many dreams and got many messages
She ignored them all
One year after her wedding she delivered her first son, five fingers, five toes
Her roommate couldn't believe it
She had been married for two years by that time
She still hadn't conceived
Her roommate said she had prayed and fasted, all to no avail
Her roommate felt God was angry with them for doing the sacrifice
She told her roommate God wasn't angry
It was the fact that they knew it was wrong and they did it that was troubling them
Another year passed
Her roommate was visited by the family priest
She had been married for three years without a child because the deity was displeased with the behaviour of her cousin
If she can convince her cousin and her husband to submit to the deities by doing the sacrifice
The deities have promised they would open her womb!
She couldn't believe it
She was the one that did the sacrifice
Her cousin didn't do the sacrifice
Her cousin had since delivered her child
She was yet to conceive
And the priest was telling her she was being punished for someone else's disobedience
The explanation was a logic killer
She walked the priest out of her house
She went to her cousin's house
"Please, teach me how to break myself out of this bondage" she pleaded
Her cousin reminded her of how anointed she was
"Remember who you are in Christ
You are the one who I touched and I got saved by the Holy Spirit
You are my mother in the faith
Stir the Holy Spirit within you until you purge your heart of guilt
Resist the devil and he will flee"
While she was going home, she brought to her memory all the things she had seen the Holy Spirit do
The testimonies she had recorded in her life and heard other believers share
Her spirit was stirred
She laid her hands on her womb and prayed in tongues
Her husband met her there
She laid his hands on her womb
She laid her hands on his shoulder
He blessed her
She prayed for him
The prayer was very hot
They needed to cool down
She lifted her head and looked into his eyes
He saw her eyes dancing with desire
He kissed her lips
She took his rudder
He took her honey
She took his milk
It was so good!
They did it again!
As soon as they were done
She marked the date in her calendar
It was no longer a matter of having faith
She knew she was pregnant
Nine months later, she delivered her child, a bouncing baby boy
She realized as she held the baby
That an idol is nothing unless a believer says or believes it is something!

Don't follow the manipulative doctrines of some churches who quote half of the scripture and add half of human experiences
If the scripture did not spell it out
It is a demonic practise! Run from it!!!
Any doctrine borne of human experience even if the person is a General Overseer is ungodly
The gospel has inherent power to set you free
It is a taboo for a Christian to be fearful
The fearful are going to hell according to the scriptures
