The Guide

The first time she had the vision
She just returned from an interview to work with 
a fast food eatery
She wondered what it meant 
She called her fiancee immediately and told him 
the vision
"I saw myself in a royal blue suit, I was working in a 
very strange 
office environment
I really don't know what it means 
Her fiancee also knew very little about such things
They had been dating for three years and were already 
talking about getting married
She needed a job badly
Her fiancee was working with a stockbroking firm
The bulk of his earnings were based on commission 
and it was not enough for him to cater for a family
He was not in a hurry to get married
He was a good man
But she was afraid she would lose him
There were lots of girls flocking around him
He told her himself of a particular girl who walked into 
the men's room when he was there and promptly pulled 
down her skirt
He said he had to run out of the place 
She believed him but she also knows that somewhere 
at the back of his mind
He would be seeing it as an opportunity missed
Her understanding of men and sex was not as simple 
as most women want to pretend it should be
She was a virgin and had promised him she wanted 
to wait until they were married
He was a sexually active guy when they met
He was a soldier's son who grew up in an army barrack
He had browsed a lot of juicy female anatomies
He only adjusted his sexual activities after they met
He promised her he wouldn't touch another woman 
again until they got married
When she took him to her Father and her father said 
no because he was not born again
He asked her Father how to become born again
Her father ministered the gospel unto him
He got born again after then and joined the 
believer's class
That was how much she knew he loved her
And yet, she knew that delay was very 
dangerous for them!
Solomon said it is unwise to ignite the fire of love 
when one is not ready
He would burn and eventually hit it with one of the girls 
flocking around him
She studied Business Administration and securing 
a job had been a little tasking
They went to see her Father the next day
She told him the vision
"I was praying yesterday sir and while I was on my knees, 
I suddenly saw myself wearing a blue suit in an office. 
It seemed to me in that vision as if I occupied a prominent 
position in that office
I wanted to know what it means
Her Father prayed with them and told them God will give 
her the interpretation
The following Monday, she resumed the job at the eatery
She was employed under the Human Resources unit as 
a Supervisor
The marriage plans commenced immediately
Her fiance had saved some money and they were able to 
rent a two bedroom flat
They were also able to get a used car for transportation
Her parents chipped in some support towards the wedding
They had the wedding in August
One week into the honeymoon
She got a letter of Employment at a Bank
Her Father had worked in the bank for many years and had 
put in a word for her
She resumed to the bank after the honeymoon as a marketer
A lot of her Father's friends were quite wealthy
She was able to secure many accounts through them 
She thrived in the banking sector
And yet every other year, she would have that vision
She had the vision two days before she gave birth 
to her first child
She was in the kitchen cooking and suddenly it flashed 
through her mind
She had the vision two days after she delivered 
her second child
She had it right on the hospital bed
By then she had had the vision so many times, it had 
become familiar
Sometimes she even ignored it
It no longer sparked any form of urgency in her
After she had her third child, she stopped having the vision
Her bank got into some trouble with the central bank
The capitalization process began and many staff 
members were retrenched
She was affected!
She got to the bank one day and she realised she couldn't 
log on to any system
She wasn't alone, there were about eight of them
When the branch manager arrived she told all of them 
what had happened
The branch was losing money and they had to cut staff
That was how she lost her job!
By this time her husband had been out of a job for 
many months
She had been the one sustaining the house with 
her salary
They both wondered what they would do
They had rent and school fees to pay
They had loans they were servicing
Things were tough!
Her Father came to their rescue
Helped her husband secure a job with an agency
The pay wasn't fantastic but half bread is always 
better than none
Then one night, out of the blue she had the vision again
The next morning she got an invitation for an interview 
with a mortgage bank
She didn't apply for a job with the bank and wondered 
how it came about
She told her husband!
They prayed!
On the day of the interview, she got to the 
bank very early
She met other people there
The interview was tough
She didn't know how she scaled through
She got a letter two days after the interview
She had been invited for a one-on-one with the 
personnel manager
SHe didn't want to waste her time
She had noticed that some of the interview candidates 
that wrote the test with her had people on the inside 
during the interview
It felt to her as if the "choice" had been made and 
the interview was just a formality
She told her husband as much
Her husband decided to call the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
Her husband explained the development
The Brother in Jeans and t-shirt listened with 
rapt attention
Then he told the husband "Tell your wife to go 
there wearing a dark blue or royal blue suit for
 the interview"
The husband told the wife
The wife was dazed!
She decided to call the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt 
herself
She explained her visions of years before
But in the vision, she was already working at an 
office in a management role
He told her she should get the suit and wear it 
for the interview
She did
She went for the interview
It was as she had suspected
There were six openings and the candidates 
had been chosen
When they got through with the interview
They were all handed a letter each
She and others got the "We are sorry to inform you" letter
The chosen six go the "We are pleased to inform you letter"
She sat at the reception in a daze
She needed the job badly
Sitting at home was driving her crazy
Her husband's salary was not enough for their upkeep
She did everything she was told to do
She wore the navy blue suit, got there early and was 
expecting a divine result
After mulling for a while, she stood up to leave
As soon as she stepped out of the bank, the cloud 
changed and it began to rain
She stood at the main entrance of the bank, 
waiting for the rain to abate
A car parked and a well-dressed man walked in
She was a little preoccupied with her thoughts and 
barely responded when the man greeted her as he 
walked past her
Five minutes later, while it was still raining
One of the security men tapped her on the shoulder 
and told her that her attention was needed upstairs
She walked into the bank
As soon as she got to the Human Resources office, 
she was ushered into the 
Chief Executive Officer's wing
The Human Resources manager accompanied her 
WHen they got to the CEO's office, they were buzzed 
in immediately by the secretary
The CEO looked at her and said: "Good morning, 
are you a lawyer?"
She said No!
The CEO said, "What business were you conducting 
with the bank?"
The Human Resources manager informed the CEO 
that she was one of the candidates interviewed earlier 
but she was not one of those selected as part of the 
recruitment process
The CEO told her to sit down and asked the Human 
Resources manager to bring her file to his table
While the Human Resources manager was gone, the CEO 
chatted with her
Where have you worked before?
How many years have you spent in the banking sector?
What church do you attend?
Are you married?
Do you have children?
What certifications do you have?
How would you describe yourself when it comes to 
relating to people!
She tried as much as possible to answer his 
questions properly
She was tired from studying all night and the stress of 
waking up early to
report on time for the interview
But she held her own!
The Human Resources manager returned with her file
He perused it silently as she looked on
Finally, he said "Human Resources Manager, 
I am employing her as the Deputy Director in Charge 
of Marketing operations, kindly go and prepare her letter"
She didn't know her mouth was open
But it was!
He smiled and said, " Why is your mouth open, do you 
think you cannot handle the position?"
I can manage the position sir, I can do so very well!
Then he said " I had this dream, early on Monday morning 
last week! I saw a lady dressed exactly the way you are dressed 
seated in my office like this and getting the letter of 
employment as Deputy Director In Charge of Marketing 
Operations', 
I didn't know what it meant at the time but as soon as 
I saw you downstairs, I knew the position was for you! 
I believe in being guided by the Holy Spirit and 
I have been praying that God will lead the key 
management officers of this organization to me!
Having all the international qualifications and relevant 
experience is good but I will rather let God choose for me!
His guidance had kept me in business for over thirty years
And I know how expensive it is not to adhere to his leading
If he had brought you to me as an asset, I believe Him that
you are an asset and that you will prove it over time!"
She was dumbfounded and barely muttered a word until 
she left the office because she had the vision at the same time 
that Monday morning of the previous week
The position came with a salary package that was 
twelve times what she was earning while working as 
a marketer in her former office and some perks like an 
official car, official residence, international exposure and 
training and so on
Her husband was a dazed as she was
He kept saying "God! This God! This God!!!"
She resumed the following week
Knowing full well that it was God that prepared a 
table before her 
and filled her cup until it was overflowing

God speaks to all his children
He guides and directs us
We must learn to listen and be guided
Many are wondering why nothing is working in their lives
They have left their guide behind
They are driving everywhere hoping to find their way
Many travelled abroad thinking it solves all their problems
Only to discover it was like jumping from the frying pan into the fire
You have a guide, let Him lead you into the green pastures
